In any case, the surge will end in April because recruitment has fallen short of it's goals and we won't have to troops to sustain it. In fact, the only fair draft is the Israeli model where EVERONE must serve. No exceptions and no exemptions. The rich can’t opt out, the connected can’t opt out, the religious can’t opt out, the infirm can’t opt out, etc. Everyone can do something for their country. Right?
