If it were a war of actual National Defense and not Ideology, or for resources, then leaders wouldn't hear as much criticism for having no personal involvement on the Operations end of it and I would not feel as if my friend's sense of duty had been used. He joined to fight Al Queda in Afghanistan after 9/11, but was sent, instead, to be bait in Iraq. The bottom line is that ending the Occupation of Iraq is the number one moral issue going on in America right now and it can't possibly get enough attention. “I meant the children serving in Iraq/Afganastan as a whole.”
