It’s easy to look at Bush and Cheney as rabid dogs that, for the sake and safety of the rest of us, should be eliminated. But there are ways of neutralizing them that don’t involve assassination.

Your other idea — jail — has more potential. If there was any justice at all, Bush and Cheney would be thoroughly investigated on their actions leading to the Iraq invasion, the U.S. Attorney scandal, American torture practices, cronyism, contempt of congress, unconstitutional executive orders, etc. etc., tried, convicted, and jailed.
