Craig resigns from position on Romney campaign.

Sen. Larry Craig (R-ID) “resigned tonight as Senate co-chairman for Mitt Romney’s presidential campaign, within hours after news broke of Craig’s guilty plea to disorderly conduct after an incident in a men’s bathroom.” Conservative blogger and radio host Hugh Hewitt called on Craig to resign from the Senate. “Craig’s behavior is so reckless and repulsive that an immediate exit is required,” Hewitt wrote.

UPDATE: The Romney campaign had earlier redacted a video clip of Craig praising Romney. See it here.

Wait a minute, wait a minute, wait a minute!

Mitt Romney is, at present, a regular civilian, is he not? He is not serving in any elected capacity at present, right? His last elected job was Governor of Mass, and Deval Patrick is now their Governor.

My question is, why does ANY civilian (not presently elected to any office) need with a “Senate co-chairman”? Senators Craig and Bennett were not elected to the US Senate by their constituents to be running anyone’s campaign but their own! Is this a proper use of taxpayer money and time?

As usual, the way progtards are psychotically and arrogantly exaggerating and gloating about this Craig incident is more confirmation of their mental disorder. Maybe progtarded jerk-offs refused to actually read the police report, but the police report was very harmless and not incriminating for Craig. Craig was arrested not because he actually committed a lewd act, but because of the subjective opinion of the cop sitting in the stall next to him. What Craig did was touch (OH MY GOSH!) the foot of the cop in the stall next to him, and this got blown out of proportion since the cop (insanely) took this to mean some form of “lewd” behavior. Whether or not Craig intended lewd conduct isn’t the question; he only plead guilty to disorderly conduct and didn’t commit anything lewd. If you want real lewdness, look at the Demoncrats: BJ Clinton making moves on everything in a skirt; Gov. McGreevey cheating on his wife with a homosexual; and Bawney Frank doing lewd conduct of his own.

  68. Starve-A-Bush_Feed-A-Beaver says:

Senator Craig is quoted as saying that he pleaded guilty without consulting an attorney in order to wrap up the matter “quickly and expeditiously”.

But it is to be noted that he had two months’ time between the arrest on June 11th and the entry of his plea on August 8th. That’s not a quick and expeditious plea. The guy from Roll Call who broke this story said on MSNBC tonight that Senator Craig requested the extra time between the arrest and the plea IN ORDER TO CONSULT WITH HIS PERSONAL ATTORNEY.

It’s starting to look like Craig’s excuse of being rushed into a plea without an attorney is a bit questionable.

And he hasn’t refuted the undercover Cop’s statement that Craig was looking at him in his stall through a glory hole before Craig himself went into the stall next door.

That’s the only way they can see to wake up enough Republicans to take the party back to it’s core values which are NOT nation building, big government, huge deficit spending and curbing civil liberties. That’s just a weak argument for anarchy, and against taking part in civilization. Of course we’re Statists, we believe that a group of citizens with representation and a set of laws based on a vision of freedom and equality can work together to create a society that benefits all and excludes none. This vision is not shared by those that think that a) all individuals should make their own laws and their own way (anarchists, libertarians) and b) my way or the highway (Republicans, Nazis and Stalinists). I contend, purely from life experience, that the followers of (b) and (c) are less evolved than the rest of us, and if they manage not to kill off the human race, they will eventually catch up to those of us who are fully-evolved humn beings. Chances of that happening are slim, but not impossible.

Similarly, some African Studies professors trot the whole case out as just another example of tramplin’ down the black man doin’ well…

It would appear then that Leftie defense of Vick is limited to racial inequality issues, while sports jocks argue that “everybody does it,” like either of those excuses matter.

The man committed a crime–actually several. He was prepared to maintain his innocence until all his co-conspirators rolled on him. Now he’s minimizing the damage by acting sorrowful and repentant. Maybe he even is sorrowful and repentant, but who knows?

That’s the reality… Just like wheels, printing presses, cars, TV, radio, electricity, water…Its very difficult to develop applications on a platform that is ever changing…

Well, Mark Cuban draws a wrong conclusion though his observations are right. Why?

    1. The slow adoption of high-speed broadband during past 5 years in the US is not a problem of the Internet, or the proof of the Internet innovation stalls, it is a matter of domestic policy issues

    2. From Web 1.0 to Web 2.0, the Internet has demonstrated its continuous evolution as a great platform in endorsing lot of application-level innovations, such as Wiki, Blog, Social Networking, Podcast, just to name a few

    3. The continuously evolving of the Internet is good instead of bad, actually the innovation of the Internet itself is not fast enough, and that is why we call for Internet 2.0 to serve upcoming Web 3.0 better

And what’s more, the distinction between libs and conservatives…Democrats and Republicans, is that generally when a Republican is caught with his “pants down”, either literally or figuratively, that Republican generally does the right thing and resigns, or otherwise atones for his/her actions. Then the Republican “goes away”, often never to be seen or heard from again. (Nixon was an exception, not the rule.)

Democrats, on the other hand, deny everything. They lie, obfuscate, play word games, and shred documents while clinging deperately to whatever power they may have left, often to the detrement of their own party. And then the Democrat electorate rewards them with more time in office, and revere them as “elder statesmen” of the Democrat party.

The Democrat Party is the party of liars, thieves, sexual deviants, crooks, robber-barons, etc. And Democrats appear to be proud of the fact that their elected “leaders” are able to get away with all their shenanigans and still be their representatives…which says alot about Democrats in general.

You seem to forget, oh so conveniently, that the hunting of Pres. Clinton was originally based on the White Water “scandal”, which turned out the be nothing at all. It was the over-zealousness of the extreme-right-whiners that led to an investigation that cost the tax-payers over 70 million to discover that Pres. Clinton had consensual sex wih another woman. And he was never disbarred. I guess “facts” can be anything the right-whiners decide to make up out of their own imagination.

Let’s see, Pres. Bush has lied about WMD’s in Iraq, he lied about Saddam’s involvement in Sept. 11th, and lied us into a war of occupation. Pres. Bush refused to listen to the reports that warned us about terrorism that cost us 3000 civilians, and his administration has cost the US over 2 trillion in cost overruns and debt. (Remember that 1 trillion dollar surplus that Pres. Clinton left? Gone. Tax breaks for the rich and corporations, you know…)

Yeah, 8 years of failed and clueless GOP and neo-con extreme-right-whining is so much better thatn surpluses, largest economic expansion in the past 50 years, and it’s only cost us 4000+ soldiers lives and 2 trillion dollars in waste by the GOP and their neo-con cronies.

“Had I known that the enemy was going to use airplanes to strike America, to attack us. I would have used very resource, every asset, every power of this government to protect the American people.”

    “We do not torture.”

“These are people picked up off the battlefield in Afghanistan. They weren’t wearing uniforms . . . but were there to kill.”

“It could not wait to get a warrant because it needed ”to move quickly to detect” plotting of terrorism between people in the United States and abroad.”

“Iraq continues to possess and conceal some of the most lethal weapons ever devised.”

But asked if, as a matter of principle, the United States would pull out of Iraq at the request of a new government, he said: “Absolutely. This is a sovereign government. They’re on their feet.”

“We found the weapons of mass destruction. We found biological laboratories.”

“The Iraqi regime is a threat of unique urgency. . . . It has developed weapons of mass death”

“more than a hundred Democrats in the House and the Senate — who had access to the same intelligence — voted to support removing Saddam Hussein from power. ”

“And I have yet to hear from our commanders on the ground that they need more troops.”

There are hundreds more if you’d care to read them. But I know you don’t read info that isn’t something you already believe.

    Comment by O Big-Foot-in-the-Mouth

I realize you love to bring up old stories (unless they pertain to Republicans like Laura Bush), but to get to more recent incidents I don’t recall diaper-loving Senator Vitter (R) resigning. Nor has Senator Craig and the Florida State Senator who was similarly caught soliciting a male police officer for sex in a public toilet (where you Republiscum really belong). And serial adulterer Rudy Giuliani is currently the frontrunner in the G(reedy)O(ily)P(erverts) presidential race. Oh, yes, such contrition! But then I believe you are the history and political science-challenged troll who tried to claim that FDR was more conservative than Bush. You’re too stupid even to laugh at.

Yes, and my conscience was repulsed. I mean look at the guy- he’s hideous. Who would want to do him any way? Also, apparently his explanation was that he has a wide stance when he’s on the john. What was he tryiing to shit, watermelons?!

  382. O. Bigfoot says:

“You seem to forget, oh so conveniently, that the hunting of Pres.

And if you actually believe any of that, you are obviously mixing up your own brand of kool-aid.

I don’t remember saying that FDR was more conservative than Bush, but if you study any history, you see that it’s true.

JFK was more conservative than Dubya as well.

And once again, Lora: What elected position is Laura Bush running for again? Whom does she represent?

Way to avoid talking about the Bush lies. Blinders work well I guess.

Well, you got me there. “Temporarily disbarred” is still disbarred. I was wrong.

Sort of like Fmr. Col. North falsly claiming that being pardoned meant he never was convicted in the first place, or that he never lied after saying he lied.

I guess my exposure to right-whiners has their bad habits rubbing off on me.

Then again, I admitted I was wrong, which is something that most right-whiners will never ever do.

Whichis the exact same thing as saying “When Pres. Bush lied, tens of thousands died!”

I’m glad you can admit that the lies of Pres. Bush caused civilian and military deaths that could have/should have been avoided.

    There’s hope for you yet!

Nothing a neo-con can say will remove the damage and lies that have been dumped on the United States, Iraq and the world. For all their talk of morals and patriotism, their actions speak louder than words. Night is day, black is white and cold is hot to a neo-con. Just like wanting to bring our troops home is unpatriotic but wanting to leave them over there to die in a bloody civil war is what a real patriotic American would want! Much like destorying Iraq and their people for decades to come is better than what they endured with Saddam. Even hardcore Shiite’s have said life was better under Saddam than it is now. Before the stupid trade embargo Iraq was the most westernized Middle East country. Now look at them….Bush was, is and will always be a liar and a coward…much like all republicans who post here. Why havent they signed up to go fight this patriotic war they so much love?

    Comment by O. Bigfoot —

You have a poor memory, and now you’re even repeating your idiotic remark about FDR’s conservatism. As I pointed out back then, the Social Security Program, for one, was initiated by FDR, and the conservatives–especially the neoCONs–have been in a tizzy about it ever since. You don’t remember how Dumbya Bush was trying to overhaul it? Well, considering other examples of your hardly sterling memory, I’m not surprised.
BTW, Mr. Moral Values, both Bush and Cheney have been arrested for DUI in the past, but that didn’t stop them from pursuing political careers, did it,
    阿呆?
