Craig resigns from position on Romney campaign.»

Sen. Larry Craig (R-ID) “resigned tonight as Senate co-chairman for Mitt Romney’s presidential campaign, within hours after news broke of Craig’s guilty plea to disorderly conduct after an incident in a men’s bathroom.” Conservative blogger and radio host Hugh Hewitt called on Craig to resign from the Senate. “Craig’s behavior is so reckless and repulsive that an immediate exit is required,” Hewitt wrote.

UPDATE: The Romney campaign had earlier redacted a video clip of Craig praising Romney. See it here.

Wait a minute, wait a minute, wait a minute!

Mitt Romney is, at present, a regular civilian, is he not? He is not serving in any elected capacity at present, right? His last elected job was Governor of Mass, and Deval Patrick is now their Governor.

My question is, why does ANY civilian (not presently elected to any office) need with a “Senate co-chairman”? Senators Craig and Bennett were not elected to the US Senate by their constituents to be running anyone’s campaign but their own! Is this a proper use of taxpayer money and time?

  3. Wayne Says:

As usual, the way progtards are psychotically and arrogantly exaggerating and gloating about this Craig incident is more confirmation of their mental disorder. Maybe progtarded jerk-offs refused to actually read the police report, but the police report was very harmless and not incriminating for Craig. Craig was arrested not because he actually committed a lewd act, but because of the subjective opinion of the cop sitting in the stall next to him. What Craig did was touch (OH MY GOSH!) the foot of the cop in the stall next to him, and this got blown out of proportion since the cop (insanely) took this to mean some form of “lewd” behavior. Whether or not Craig intended lewd conduct isn’t the question; he only plead guilty to disorderly conduct and didn’t commit anything lewd. If you want real lewdness, look at the Demoncrats: BJ Clinton making moves on everything in a skirt; Gov. McGreevey cheating on his wife with a homosexual; and Bawney Frank doing lewd conduct of his own.

If you’re really convinced that there’s nothing unusual or significant about a U.S. Senator playing footsie with a total stranger under the stall wall in an airport restroom, I suggest you keep your attorney’s phone number handy. You’re going to need it.

  68. Starve-A-Bush_Feed-A-Beaver Says:

Senator Craig is quoted as saying that he pleaded guilty without consulting an attorney in order to wrap up the matter “quickly and expeditiously”.

But it is to be noted that he had two months’ time between the arrest on June 11th and the entry of his plea on August 8th. That’s not a quick and expeditious plea. The guy from Roll Call who broke this story said on MSNBC tonight that Senator Craig requested the extra time between the arrest and the plea IN ORDER TO CONSULT WITH HIS PERSONAL ATTORNEY.

It’s starting to look like Craig’s excuse of being rushed into a plea without an attorney is a bit questionable.

And he hasn’t refuted the undercover Cop’s statement that Craig was looking at him in his stall through a glory hole before Craig himself went into the stall next door.

That’s the only way they can see to wake up enough Republicans to take the party back to it’s core values which are NOT nation building, big government, huge deficit spending and curbing civil liberties. That’s just a weak argument for anarchy, and against taking part in civilization. Of course we’re Statists, we believe that a group of citizens with representation and a set of laws based on a vision of freedom and equality can work together to create a society that benefits all and excludes none. This vision is not shared by those that think that a) all individuals should make their own laws and their own way (anarchists, libertarians) and b) my way or the highway (Republicans, Nazis and Stalinists). I contend, purely from life experience, that the followers of (b) and (c) are less evolved than the rest of us, and if they manage not to kill off the human race, they will eventually catch up to those of us who are fully-evolved humn beings. Chances of that happening are slim, but not impossible.

I love attacking both the Republicans and Democrats because both of you are self righteous corporate globalists hordes!
You are both Statists that impose your beliefs on the rest of us.

As if anyone could! I didn’t vote for the silly sod. :D

Vick happens when the trollies remember about their tiny foundation built on sand — and there’s a storm coming.
