Townsend turned down DHS Secretary position.
The Swamp reports that Frances Fragos Townsend, White House homeland security advisor, “declined the offer to consider job of Homeland Security Secretary currently held by Chertoff in a recent conversation with the White House.” As ThinkProgress noted earlier today, Bush crony Clay Johnson is now reportedly the frontrunner for the job.

Libtards on this site get totally excitable whenever they throw around buzz phrases like “Bush loyalist” or “cronyism” because those words have become a rallying point for them to simple-mindedly symbolize most of what’s wrong with their boogeyman, Bush. Despite Johnson’s lack of experience, imagine what a Demoncrat would do if he were appointed as a Homeland Security Secretary. Imagine if Al Gore were Homeland Secretary; he’d focus the fight against the imaginary enemy of global warming while allowing open borders for terrorists to wander in. Imagine if Barak Obama were Homeland Secretary; he’d unilaterally invade US states and bomb them (like he would Pakistan) while trying to sit down and dialogue with terrorists invading US borders.

A Patriot Acting brings up the solid point that far too many containers are continuing to come thru our ports without inspection. 1 in 100 I believe are inspected. This is still something Bush hasn’t addressed.

And then there’s the matter that Coddy set up meetings with convicted coin swindler Tom Noe and Ken Mehlman (and possibly Rove) in the White House.
