CNN: Craig ‘likely resign pretty soon.’

CNN’s Dana Bash, who is reporting from Idaho, said today that her sources “do think that Senator Craig will likely resign pretty soon. That is sort of the sense that people are getting.”

  14. Krazny says:

Craig should have totally taken this to trial, that would have been awesome, what a media spectacle that would have been. I wonder who else he would have dragged out of the closet with him? Rove perhaps? I am sure he has the lowdown on who is and who isn’t gay.

  15. screech says:

And are you now as craig?

  35. Maeven says:

Craig will stay as long as he continues to give the White House cover in the news. Cover for the ramped up re-surge in Iraq, for the coming escalation of the war to include Iran (2nd week in September, so we’re hearing).

Why isn’t anybody asking how a U.S. senator gets arrested on June 11th, pleads out on August 8th, and the public only learns about it (from Roll Call, not the Idahoan, which had deep-sixed their own piece on Craig) on August 28th. The day after Alberto Gonzales, the most corrupt Attorney General since Ed Meese, steps down after months of revelations as to the crimes committed by him and this White House?

Idaho is a solid red state. Yeah, Craig and Republicans are hypocrites, but this is a diversionary story, and not worth the time being given it.

How did Roll Call get this story? That’s the story.

  36. Frank J says:

That reminds me where is the story on TP about Hillary’s big fundraiser who is on the lam from the law again. What is with the Clintons and Chi-Com fundraising?

  37. gummitch says:

Why do I get the feeling that Frank J is not happy with the s^cking of cox? Do you think that’s just icky, Frank?

If Craig had been busted with a (female) hooker polishing his knob, maybe this would have been a witch hunt, huh?

  38. Ichthus says:

So, we see Frank J, whom thouht Craig would be a Hillary running mate, is the same as Frank J,

Craig endangers the Republican party in several ways: 1) by his behavior being revealed it exposes Rudy Giuliani to more criticism of being a cross-dressing freak, 2) it invites the press to out other Republican Senators like Lindsey Graham and Mitch McConnell as being secretly Gay, 3) spotlight is back on David Vitter to resign for hiring hookers and wearing diapers, and 4) people are asking about Jeff Gannon’s relationship to Pres. Bush Junior again.

    Comment by Mr. P

No, Mr P your seeing thru a political lens.

  63. Frank J says:

Think back to Hillary Clinton’s early lead in fundraising. We now have a pattern emerging with straw donors acting as fronts for criminal individuals. The facts in this case very much parallel that of the Hsu case and yet the press has been mostly silent through it all. But these events look a little too big to ignore. The New York Times is featuring the now famous Hsu handshake with a story.

You can always find a myopic golden quote in the New York Times and this story does not disappoint.

Some Clinton donors said yesterday that they did not expect the Hsu matter to hurt Mrs. Clinton unless a pattern of problematic fund-raising or compromised donors emerged, which would raise questions about the campaign’s vetting of donors.

Ooops. Leave it up the the staffers at the Times to be completely ignorant of a pattern that the Hsu case paints. Considering that the Schoenburg story appeared before the Hsu one I think we already have that pattern. But you know, small minds….

In any event the Democrats are using charity as the cleanser. Typical political backwash that somehow makes crooked politicians seem a little more palatable; a perfect excuse for the press to skip over their outrage and soften the blow.

You only want Craig to reason because he’s one of those icky homos. I’m interested in why you hate homos.

  85. Frank J says:

The Wall Street Journal reports that a family of modest means in San Francisco — the head of the household is a mail carrier — has given Hillary Clinton a total of $45,000 since 2005. “The Paws’ political donations closely track donations made by Norman Hsu, a wealthy New York businessman in the apparel industry who once listed the Paw home as his address, according to public records. Mr. Hsu is one of the top fund-raisers for Mrs. Clinton’s presidential campaign. He has hosted or co-hosted some of her most prominent money-raising events.”

More: “People who answered the phone and the door at the Paws’ residence declined requests for comment last week. In an email last night, one of the Paws’ sons, Winkle, said he had sometimes been asked by Mr. Hsu to make contributions, and sometimes he himself had asked family members to donate. But he added: ‘I have been fortunate in my investments and all of my contributions have been my money.’”

  117. Bob says:

RUCerious you seem to have grown very fond almost obsessive of senatorial gay sex.
U a homo? Come on out and meet Larry and be free.

    Freudian slip Mr P?

  119. Johnsnottoodistracted says:

Seems these guys are not prepared too well when things don’t go their way.
For who knows how long they all got to sit around and tell lies without consequences. That is their normal behavior. That’s their environment.
When his get-out-of-jail-free senator business card didn’t wash things away he went into denial mode which works so well at his everyday work place the senate.
After all,how can anyone, specially just a bathroom cop question him? He’s a special guy right? At least in his head.
Sometimes you wonder how toxic that wh environment must be.
Some of these guys have no brain cells left and those who do cannot get more than one or two working at the same time.

  121. Bob says:

It happens to the best of men. Clinton thought he was untouchable from all the worship he received from the Kool-Aid drinkers here. Power corrupts.

You and your multiple sock puppets. Seek help, Mr Pee. These sorts of psychoses can at least be controlled, if not cured.

Your words are violent every time you post here — which is all the time.

What are YOU trying to prove?

  132. Jackie says:

Notice how fast the GOP is pushing to get Craig out of office. Well you’d think it was for the men’s room thing but it isn’t. Vitter hired prostitutes and the GOP cheered not one investigation. Here’s the answer folks. Craig is involved in the Duke Cunningham case and the Judge just unsealed an indictment that involves Craig. GOP leaders feel they can get another Republican to replace Craig in Idaho because it’s a red State. Now Vitter can’t be replaced and is needed to vote the crimes and corruption done by the White House. So you see Vitter can have sex with who or what ever and he keeps his job. Vitter can continue to lie and say he’s a religious family values/morals man even if he hires prostitutes and does crimes he’s ok. But Craig will have to testify in the up coming trial and the GOP doesn’t want him as a seated Senator at the time. Don’t worry Bush is asking for 50 billion taxpayers dollars to make sure all the GOP get enough money for their silence. You thought the money was for Iraq well it isn’t this time. Ari is getting his pay off too.

  136. Jim says:

#89: I’m interested in the moonbat view of Clinton’s illegal activity.

I don’t know what a “moonbat” is. And I’m not sure what “illegal” activity you’re talking about. I didn’t like Clinton’s pardon of Marc Rich, but it wasn’t illegal. There were a lot of things about the Clinton presidency that I didn’t like, but I can’t think of any documented illegal activity. The only illegal activity by Clinton is in the wild fantasies of right-wing blowhards like you, Frank.

For the record, I have a certain amount of sympathy for Larry Craig. The lewd behavior in the men’s room sounds pretty sad, more than anything. It must be sad for a person to live a lie in the way that Craig is. What bugs me, though, is the gay baiting Craig has been engaged in for the duration of his political career, and the disgusting hypocrisy of the right-wing media and blogosphere.

  137. Buck Fush says:

My wife looked at some of the posts here, at last, and got a pretty good laugh at the trolls, she did not know that they were just this stupid.

  138. cowboyneok says:

Tucker Carlson needs to apologize for his rant about attacking a gay man in a restroom for an unwanted sexual advance. He needs to read this NIH report which proves homophobes, like him, who react violently to gay men are secretly attracted to gay porn. They become aroused when watching it, while their STRAIGHT brothers do NOT become aroused. APOLOGIZE FOR BEING A CLOSETED GAY MAN, TUCKER:

Ah, a religious wingut talking about rational people having a kool-aid team! That’s like a homophobic senator getting sex in the bathroom… Poor consistently hypocritical wingnuts, all projection!

  146. Daniel in AZ says:

Y’all are missing the fun that can be had from this. When I’ve been in the can at work and I know the person in the stall next to me, I’ve been putting my hand on the bottom of the stall wall [I'm ultimately too short to try for the foot tap]. It’s been good for a laugh so far. I suppose a visit from the HR dept. is probably not too far off for me though… Probably best to tone that down before someone doesn’t find it funny.

BTW – does anyone know how the knowledge of these secret rituals propagates? I suppose it’s probably not terribly dissimilar from knowledge of urinal-choice etiquette [you guys know what I mean], but I’m always surprised to learn of various “signs” that are supposedly well know. For example, I was in a bar back when I lived in Seattle [early 90's], and some guy comes up to me and tells me how excited he was to see that I was a “top”. Turns out, I had my keys hanging off of a belt-loop on my left side on a carabiner. Uhhh… dude – hate to disappoint you here, but I’m a rock climber and I’m left handed. Just sort of works out that way for me. Anyway – after that I made sure to keep my keys in my pocket.

  147. Tomike says:

“Don’t let the stall door hit you in the AS*! RESIGN!
He’s not gay, just his tricks are!….

  148. Tomike says:

“Our feelings of sorrow should be expressed to his wife and HER children!, for the personal embarrassment he has brought upon them.”
Ditch him and take half of his mega million dollar ’senate pension’…”
Hope she has better sense and gets a lawyer!…clean ‘em out!

  153. cindy says:

A top Democratic fundraiser wanted as a fugitive in California turned himself in Friday to face a grand theft charge.

  154. cindy says:

Jerry Parks, the Clinton security aide in Arkansas, known to have been keeping a dossier on Clinton, is gunned down two months after Foster’s death in his car outside of Little Rock. Parks is shot through the rear window of his car and shot three more times, thru the side window, with a 9mm pistol.
