Sen. Norm Coleman (R-MN), who yesterday called on Sen. Larry Craig (R-ID) to step down, has “become the first lawmaker to announce that he is not keeping a political donation” from the embattled senator. Craig’s political action committee gave $2,500 to Coleman’s Senate campaign. Coleman’s spokeperson said that it would likely turn the money over to charity.
Coleman is in such danger of losing his seat in MN, he can’t run fast enough from Craig, nor shed enough of anything connected in any way to Craig.
August 30th, 2007 at 9:49 amMaybe he can donate it to GLAD or Logo TV or something.
August 30th, 2007 at 9:49 amwtf is coleman suddenly punking craig? i think this is going to backfire. the guy was just trying to get a beej. at some point coleman is going to look like he is just being mean. is anyone really mad about this?
August 30th, 2007 at 9:53 am“Coleman drops donation by Craig…”
Just don’t bend over to pick it up…..
August 30th, 2007 at 9:54 amIt would be kinda’ stupid to call for him to step down then keep his money, wouldn’t it?
August 30th, 2007 at 9:56 amThe Repukes can’t distance themselves from Craig fast enough.
Craig has become GOP kryptonite. He a) was busted for soliciting nasty anonymous gay bathroom sex, b) pled guilty to the offense, admitting his guilt, and c) subsequently denied any and all allegations, making it obvious to anyone capable of walking with the use of their knuckles that there’s a lie in there somewhere…a veritable trifecta of GOP hypocrisy.

‘with’ should be ‘without’ in my earlier post.
D’oh!
August 30th, 2007 at 10:00 amCould we please keep piling on tucker carlson for his unbelievable story of attempted molestation, implicit admission that he is gay and his public pose that he is not? It is endlessly entertaining!

I’m all for supporting some enterprising journalist who will dog Pucker’s story till the end and expose it, and him, for the fraud and empty windbag he is….

OK, that image I got from your statement “Could we please keep piling on tucker carlson” made me a little ill. Urp. . . I just threw up a little in my mouth. ;-)
As a gay man, I would put TC in the same category as Michael Jackson: he might be “gay”, but we don’t want him associated with us!
Tucker Carlson is just a sad little bloviating pip-squeek. His pathetic story about how he supposed confronted an alleged gay-molestation attempt is nothing but a failed fantasy of being more macho than he could ever be in his best dreams.

You are exactly right about TC.
August 30th, 2007 at 10:35 amIsn’t Coleman the guy whose father did something really creepy? Can someone out there refresh my memory?
And I’m still waiting for him to call on Vitter to resign, too. Why the inconsistency?
August 30th, 2007 at 10:48 amTurn the money over to charity?
That seems to be the latest trend with politicians. Didn’t they used to return donations from unacceptable characters? This money isn’t stolen. If Coleman thinks Craig is unworthy of giving him money he should return the check with a gracious “no thank you” and be done with it.
Donating to charity allows Coleman to take credit for charity that while denouncing the man who doled out the cash.
August 30th, 2007 at 11:02 amLOL Coleman > tell us about your perverted father boinking a prostitute in his car at a Burger King joint.
August 30th, 2007 at 11:19 amNorm Coleman is scared of losing his seat to Al Franken.
He’s trying to come on like a choir boy regarding Craig, but forgot the part about his Dad having sex (Dad’s in his 80’s) in a parking lot & getting caught.
The only reason Coleman’s a Senator is Paul Wellstone was killed.
The only way he will retain his seat is to make ‘news’ about how righteous he is.
It’s all PR. As his college roommate just disclosed, Norm ‘Bongman’ Coleman was basically stoned throughout his college years.
People that live in Bong houses shouldn’t play with matches.
August 30th, 2007 at 11:55 amFor what it’s worth, there are plenty of rumors about Coleman’s own orientation, so he’s got to be extra careful. He’s a Hollywood guy and his wife lives in Hollywood.
Nobody should care, but that’s the world we live in. Coleman is extremely creepy from a political POV, consistently supporting Bush at crunch time but pretending to be independent in between times.
