I’m not sure that it’s her softball pieces on Bush that are responsible for her low ratings. After all, bias hasn’t seemed to hurt Brit Hume. I suspect it has to do more with her fifteen years on the Today Show — America is used to her in that format, not the Dan Rather one.

Plus, people have gotten comfortable with Brian Williams and Charlie Gibson — both in place before she got to CBS. People don’t change their news sources easily.
