Yes. It’s troll talk. All new administrations ask for the resignations of their US Attorneys. In Clinton’s case, the Justice Dept. was filled with people appointed by GHW Bush. Reagan’s Attorney General also asked for the resignations of all US attorneys who had worked for Carters Justice Dept. GHW Bush asked for all resignations, even though he came from the same administration, as VP.

This is simply one of those ginned-up non-issues invented by the right wing attack machine and you, of course, bought into it hook, line and sinker. It has nothing to do with targeting sitting U.S. Attorneys, during their term for political reasons, which is technically against the law.

Clinton never fired any prosecutors that were investigating cases that could have let straight back to the whitehouse…ie., the defense contractors in bed with Abrahmhoff that Carol Lam was pursuing, for example.

Also, employement in most states is statutorily “at will”.. that means both
employer and employee can terminate the relationship without any reason. However, there are still some reasons you can’t terminate someone for.. ie. thier race. Similarly, the prez can fire prosecutors for no reason, but he can’t fire them, to say, obstruct justice.

Your argument is something akin to “SInce you fired all 100 of the workers at your factory, I didnt do anyting wrong by firing 10 of my workers because they were black”…

figuring all this out is a bit of a logical leap, i admit.. but its the law….the funny thing is, they could have diffused all this by just saying.. ‘we just fired them because we wanted to”.. but instead they try and say “i dont remember, i dont recall”… blah blah.. reagan had a better memory on his deathbed than gonzo does in the prime of life apparently… im surprised someone didnt have to help mr, gonazales into a chair by reminding him how its done first…

Gonzales was caught lying under oath to Congress. Twice. And about a serious matter. The OIG has been investigating this and other stuff for some time now on old Gonzo. And lots of subordinates who still have intact souls and a desire to not be part of the infamous corruption Gonzo and company have bathed in for the last few years, are chomping at the bit to distance themselves by bringing the little runt to justice.
