The U.S. economic rebound in the second quarter was stronger than previously estimated as exports surged and business spending grew, economists said before revised government figures today.
The economy expanded at an annual pace of 4.1 percent, the most in more than a year, according to the median estimate of 81 economists surveyed by Bloomberg News. The Commerce Department last month calculated the growth rate at 3.4 percent.

If you’re going to insist on bringing Clinton into this, at least get the quote right. I have been hearing a lot of conservatives say that and it is not accurate. What Clinton said, as he looked straight ahead and pointed was, “I did not have sexual relations with that woman.” He never said he didn’t have “sex” with that woman. And he said it that way for a reason. Because under a legal definition of “sexual relations” he was telling the truth because they did not have any kind of intercourse, which is what the term “sexual relations” is understood to mean, both to the public and the law.
From the same article, which for some unfathomable reason Bob left out up above:
“The figures may be the peak of the expansion for this year as the cost of borrowing increased in August and the Fed said that risks to growth “increased appreciably.†In a sign that the labor market is weakening, separate government numbers today showed claims for jobless benefits climbed to the highest level since April. â€

Thanks, coming from you that means a lot! But it would seem that Bob has hopped on the Clinton express train and once he’s on he just can’t seem to get off! hee hee
saying he didn’t have “sex” was semantics, not the act of a BJ. Plus Wayne’s comments seem to set both of us straight- even i couldn’t remember the exact quote– after all i was in college and had more important thing to think about– such as having as many sexual relations as I would be allowed.
I’m not a huge fan of the Clintons but if Hillary wins the fact that Bill would be First Dude would be great.
Comment by margaret — August 30, 2007 @ 2:20 pm
“First Dude” would be a cool title, but they’ll probably call him “First Gentleman”. The cool part is that as a former president, it would not be improper to still call him “Mr. President” even if his wife is “Madame President”.
I guess you could use the same line of reasoning to deride American soldiers serving in Iraq – that they don’t really give a shit about their own kids because they left them behind and went off looking for glory and excitement rather than staying home.
Come to think of it, that’s a pretty good justification for not sending our soldiers to illegally occupy a sovereign nation where we have no business being.
I went to a Concrete Blonde concert right before the election between Bush 41 and Clinton and the lead singer was exhorting everyone to vote and she went on to say something to the effect that Clinton may be a (swear word) (swear word) PIG, but, he was still a much better choice than Bush!
I’ve been meaning to inquire about your redundant format.

Why does your format look as if you’re trying to publish a novel? It rings a bell, one typical to that of an irritating perfectionist.
I’m sorry if error-free posts irritate you, TT, but I was raised to do things correctly. When I went to school, things like penmanship, neatness, and spelling all counted, which can give you a good clue as to how old I am.
And, you repeat the same righteous crap. Why is that?
Perhaps if you gave examples of the ‘righteous crap’ in question, I could supply a more specific explanation, but in general, I would have to say: because it bears repeating.
