I am not talking about doing away with it dummy. I am talking about streamlining it and making it more efficient and effective and most importantly how to deal with domestic surveillance activities that ARE necessary in order to combat groups like al Qaeda. This law was written 30 years ago and need to be overhauled….like many of our laws do.

Yes I know that the burecratic BS didn’t allow the FBI to commmunicate with the DOD.

(Washington, DC)- Today, House Judiciary Committee Chairman John Conyers, Jr. (D-MI) announced that the committee will hold a hearing next week titled, “Warrantless Surveillance and the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA): The Role of Checks and Balances in Protecting Americans’ Privacy Rights.” The hearing will be held on Wednesday, September 5, at 10:15 am in room 2141 of Rayburn House Office Building.

So you had no problems with the echelon project under Clinton? You have no problems with degrading the fourth amendment? OK. That is understandable. But, the next time that congress requests that a republican hand over any email, phone records, letters, etc., the republican should immediately do so.
