Unless these aren't "real" WMD either:

"The B-52 was loaded with Advanced Cruise Missiles, part of a Defense Department effort to decommission 400 of the ACMs. But the nuclear warheads should have been removed at Minot before being transported to Barksdale, the officers said. The missiles were mounted onto the pylons of the bomber’s wings.

Advanced Cruise Missiles carry a W80-1 warhead with a yield of 5 to 150 kilotons and are specifically designed for delivery by B-52 strategic bombers.

Air Force spokesman Lt. Col. Ed Thomas said the transfer was safely conducted and the weapons were in Air Force custody and control at all times.

However, the mistake was not discovered until the B-52 landed at Barskdale, which left the warheads unaccounted for during the approximately 3 1/2 hour flight between the two bases, the officers said."

For the record, I was simply disproving the false claim: "There are only 2 true weapons of mass destruction: Smallpox and true nuclear weapons." I guess now there are "only 3 true weapons of mass destruction." Speaking of which, I see that five "real" nuclear weapons were "misplaced" by the U.S. Air Force for three hours on August 30th:

Even when weaponized, anthrax isnt an effective weapon of mass killing.
How many people have ever died from anthrax, weaponized are not?

Its not contagious either. Again, weaponization is a complex process, almost certainly requring a state actor. The logic I metioned above applies.

Ebola, sure, but when you talk about Ebola, you're going out even further into the realm of fastasy than smallpox. Its a fact that a handul of the most power governments have stores of smallpox they formerly used to make germ weapons. Again, the chances of them unleasing a world wide holocause by letting them out of thier grasp is unlikely.

For Ebola, there is no such documentation that governments have ever tried to weaponize ebola. Again, I think that pretty much all governments realize unleashing diseases is going to come back and bite them, one way or the other, so they wont do it.

Sure, hypotethically terrorists could muck about in the jungle hoping to get sick, but the chances of them catching ebola, actually figuring out they've got the correct disease and not some other, and then being able to get to a vector point (airport, etc) before it kills them is highly unlikely, bordering on ludicrous.. especially since if someone shows up to an airport coughing blood, they arent going to be let on a plane..

Jake D. sez:

For the record, weaponized anthrax and ebola could be WMD as well.

Izzat so? Here's a quick quiz, Shakey:

1) How is anthrax 'weaponized'?

2) What countries currently possess the means to perform this 'weaponization'?

3) The weaponized anthrax used in the U.S. attacks betrayed its origin by the specific method used to weaponize it, plus the particular strain of anthrax matched exactly the strain found at the origin. What was this origin?

I look forward to your reply, Shakey. If you do feel up to answering, feel free to preface you replies with "For the record,", to maintain your pathetic charade of an "ignore list".

For extra credit, explain how ebola could be 'weaponized' effectively.

>I have bookmarked the “dirty bombs [are] one of the most overhyped >scientifically unsound hypothetical threats we face…” post

Cool. It won't happen. And in the unlikely event it does, the most dangerous part will be the conventional explosives used. The radiation effects will be negligible and poorly dispersed. I guess since you're "75" you can leave that bookmark to you grandkids. You "lawyer" guys still use the legal theory of "proof" right? why dont you show us some links to physicists or nuclear scientists discussing the concept of a dirty bomb?
And FOR THE RECORD, george bush, alberto gonzales, and dick cheney ARENT nuclear scientists.

For instance, what ever came of these supposed "dirty bomb" allegations against Padilla?... nothing..zero..zilch.. its because if they tried to put on a case that a dirty bombing is a feasible plot, they'd be laughed out of court just as someone claiming that alqueda was planning at attack the united states with magical dragons.

Its some stupid concept which has been floated to try and scare us.. conventional explosions is NOT an effective way to disperse small amounts of radiactive material.. period...

A nuclear reactor like chernobyl? Sure.. But I'm not aware of any suitcases that are going to fit a nuclear reactor AND enough explosives to disperse the radiation. The idea that you can scrape glow in the dark stuff off a million glow in the dark watches and make an effective weapon out of it is, retarded, to say the least.

There are only 2 true weapons of mass destruction: Smallpox and true nuclear weapons. Both are very very difficult to manufacture, basically require the resources of a state, and theres no evidence terrorists have been able to obtain, much less hide and deploy, nuclear weapons or smallpox. There's also no evidence that any state has been willing to sell this technology to non-state actors. Probably because no state wants to sign their death warrant by giving the stuff to people who have no state to rule and thus nothing to lose... Yes, beleive it or not, most people who rule countries actually ARENT crazy (cruel, perphaps), and know that they'd have everything to lose and nothing to gain by selling WMD to stateless religious fanatics. Assuming states we don't agree with are run by cackling madmen is one of the most stupid ASSumptions rightwing-reichtards make.

A nuclear reactor like chernobyl? Sure.. But I’m not aware of any suitcases that are going to fit a nuclear reactor AND enough explosives to disperse the radiation.

There’s also no evidence that any state has been willing to sell this technology to non-state actors. Probably because no state wants to sign their death warrant by giving the stuff to people who have no state to rule and thus nothing to lose… Yes, beleive it or not, most people who rule countries actually ARENT crazy (cruel, perphaps), and know that they’d have everything to lose and nothing to gain by selling WMD to stateless religious fanatics. Assuming states we don’t agree with are run by cackling madmen is one of the most stupid ASSumptions rightwing-reichtards make.

Lets see if this post makes it...

The most significant arm of our Constitutional Democracy is the Congress because it is more representative of the people. At no time is this statement more true than now giving a gone-haywire executive and its elected powers, the US High Court (SCOTUS).

If Congress does not take adequate and expedited steps to regain the usurped power by re-establishing itself (especially about putting a stop to the senseless Iraq War), it will render it more difficult for the poeple to regain the representative powers usurped by Bush, no matter what Party occupies the white house. The next President would be of the mind to not only follow Bush's footsteps but in short order get bigger feet for even bigger shoes.

Do we have a prayer that our leaders will act on this pressing point?

We'll see if Harry Reid of Nevada is capable of growing a one even the chemical composition of Viagra couldn't possibly bestow!
