GOP Rep. Walsh to call for Iraq withdrawal.

The editorial blog of the Rochester Democrat & Chronicle is reporting that Rep. Jim Walsh (R-NY), a moderate Republican, “is switching gears and is now calling for withdrawal of U.S. troops from Iraq.” Additionally, “Walsh, who visited Iraq during the weekend, says he will no longer support funding the war.” The paper’s Washington correspondent, Erin Kelly, will have full report tomorrow.

(Hat tip: TPM)

UPDATE: In the full article, Walsh says “Before I went, I was not prepared to say it’s time to start bringing our troops home. I am prepared to say that now. It’s time.”

UPDATE II: Here’s Walsh’s full statement.

Jim Walsh is such a professional imbecile that he mistakenly picked the day when Petraeus’ testimony would’ve given him political cover and increased credibility to support the Bush surge! This RINO punk Walsh is the epitome of a linguini-spined, limp-wristed loser who is as unprincipled as libtards and Demoncrats, shifting with the public opinion polls instead of listening to the report of progress that an independent general gave. It’s no surprise that Walsh is from NY, as everyone knows that Repubs in blue states are kind of suspicious and aren’t really as true to their party as Repubs from the red states. Walsh flagrantly put his reelection chances ABOVE what’s good for US troops, which would be further support for the war.

I agree the blame and fault lies with the putrid leadership, but the only way to save these troops and the Middle East is to get them out, now. if the Iraqis want to go at it, well that will suck, because we created the conditions for this civil war and sectarian ethnic cleansing. ALL of them, you must care, and you must have love for al that exists.

And then you ask for wisdom, and listen to your mind, and when any one word causes you pause, stop and follow that. Hate wil make your heart heavy Margo. Its an easy pit to fall into. Remove it. and then you will soar.

Hope so. Then I’d feel as if I really accomplished something today!

I left out how self-centered and in love with herself she is. She even tells us that she is God’s gift to the inferior people on his Earth.

Looks like she has had an extremely short and pampered life compared to yours and mine, Upside.

Yeh, I looked at the site upside00, much of it deals with how you see her and how she sees others.

I would say shes smart, but insecure, wants to be a politician, but doesnt see the big picture.

Oh BTW V V, I dont hate Ann Coulter.

True! And her rants at times are so far off center, that they point out her immaturity and her insecurity. And after perusing her site, it is even more obvious. She has had some real psychological trauma in her life!

I’ve seen photos from Auschwitz where people have more meat on their bones. Her interests are horseback riding and redecorating her apartment. Maybe she could do those in Falluja.

I don’t hate Couter either, I just see her for what she is; an entertainer, nothing more, nothing less. But she is NOT someone to hold in any regard, especially if you want to be considered a serious political pundit. Kinda like wanting to be a Rhoades Scholar and using Paris Hilton as your role model.

Sorry, p, had you and her intertwined, as you were both posting fast and furiously there for a while.

  166. Zep Tepi says:

Little does she know that her hate, no matter how rich, or poor matters not. Yet she thinks killing foreigners, inferiors, makes her superior.

It does nothing of the kind.

For we are children of the Sun. =)

To some degree, that is true, but where his are somewhat “fire for effect” in nature, VV’s are hateful rants, which she does believe.

Lets do some math Havenoballs, P, we know how many troops have perished, since 2003
    X___3,792_________8-07

We know how many troops have been injured since 2003

    X__27,000________8-07

    We know that:
Every veteran who arrives at a VA facility is screened for post-traumatic stress disorder and traumatic brain injury. The VA had spent only $1 out of every $3 it had budgeted for mental health services.

WTF Mr P, O’ great internet brain? Why do you waste your talent for argument here?

It’s so sad. People used to go to college to become educated about the world. Now they go just to have their narrow, bigoted beliefs reinforced.

It won’t matter. The signal has been given to certain Reps in contested races that it’s OK to appear to be anti-war until election season is over, but there are not enough to make a difference considering all the Blue Dogs and Dinos that inhabit “the swamp”. Meanwhile, our fearless Dem leadership are scratching their heads and wondering how they got outflanked and steamrolled yet again, where all they needed to do was read a few blogs back in Jan/Feb to know that this is exactly the position they’d end up in now if they gave in back then. Who here, when you started hearing the word “September” bandied about didn’t know the report would come wrapped in 9/11 and accompanied by a new Al Qaeda tape? Can’t these people read–because the handwriting on the wall is in plain English.

You can’t affect what doesn’t exist in the first place. The Bush administration is running a war against America, from the Iraq quagmire to NCLB. There has never been an enemy more dangerous to the survival of peace, democracy and freedon than George Bush and his administration. hitler was less dangerous, and easier to stop. The constant lies, the ever-present corruption, the daily perversions, the hatred of the American citizen and soldier, and the credence given to the 25% nutjob sociopaths like out trolls is a mix that has sent America on the path to self-destruction and irrelevance in the world. Treason is the main goal and product of the Bush administration, hanging is the only good solution.

Because then the right-whiners would have to:
    1) do what the promisd when they said “dead or alive” and they just can’t take that level of responsibility
    2) find another boogey-man to use to scare voters into voting for the party of failure
    3) explain why they got sidetracked from the “war on terra” with the “war of occupation in Iraq”.

    It just aint gonna happen!
