So the Governator thinks that the people’s word on banning same-sex marriage is so good that he’ll veto any measures coming from the Legislature permitting it, but the people apparently lack the intelligence to vote on a measure which advises Shrub to bring back the troops.
I guess we know Ahh-nuld’s feelings on the democratic process: If it matches his views, it’s a good thing; if it doesn’t, then it’s bad.

I don’t have a link about Kucinich.
But he’s stated his reason for refusing to debate Kucinich is becaue his constituents already know his positions.
Really, though, is there ever a good reason for a politician to refuse to debate?

The oil money, is spread among the citizens. That money often finds its way to extremists schools, and charities that give the money to Al-Qaeda, or other terrorists groups. We are held hostage by our energy needs, and we donâ€™t seem to be changing course.

Well, that’s not really true. Saudi Arabia doesn’t publish a Gini coefficient, so I don’t know how inequal income distribution is, but it’s pretty clear from the other indicators that most of the oil wealth is concentrated in the hands of a few. 2/3 of Saudis are employed in services, and another 12% in agriculture – only 1/4 are in industry (including petrochemical), the unemployment rate is between 14-25%, and as much as 35% of the labor force is foreign workers.

It is true that some Saudi money goes to fund Wahhabist schools within and outside the kingdom. What should also be mentioned is that the thing that spawned this investment in the first place was the 1979 Iranian Revolution, which put a powerful Shi’ite regime just across the fertile crescent from Saudi Arabia.
