Boehner is Bush’s new BFF.

By Amanda Terkel on Sep 13th, 2007 at 3:30 pm

Boehner is Bush’s new BFF.

House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-OH) “has quietly become President Bush’s indispensable confidant on Capitol Hill. He chats almost daily about the war in Iraq with Bush, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice or other top administration officials.” Rep. Pete Hoekstra (R-MI) said that Boehner is useful for the administration to reach Congress because the “White House has no credibility with this issue.”

UPDATE: Barry Jackson, who has taken over the “management of the four offices Rove supervised,” is the former chief of staff to Boehner.

  2. Dan says:

That explains why Boehner says American deaths in Iraq are “a small price to pay” – he learned it from Bush!

  3. Wilco says:

I can’t even imagine Bush’s nickname for Boehner.

  4. Wilco says:

But I will guess it’s not salacious.
Maybe, Sniffles. At least, I hope it’s Sniffles.

    Yeah you can.

    “Crybaby Poopy Pants Boner”

  8. AustinSF says:

SMALL PRICE? WTF! Have you heard what Boehner said yesterday?

“The investment that we’re making today will be a small price if we’re able to stop al Qaeda here, if we’re able to stabilize the Middle East, it’s not only going to be a small price for the near future, but think about the future for our kids and their kids.”

Thanks for this posting so we can discuss Bush’s BFF.

Needless to say this guy is an idiot. Not suprised that “W” likes him. Oh course he does.

Here is what is being discussed over a DailyKOS >

This is the same asshat who, just a very short while ago, called US casualties “a small price”.

  22. razzle says:

Old Boner won’t be when the $hit hits the fan! Be careful whom you consider your BFF, Chimp!

Check this out for the latest GOP Gay Scandal involving John McHenry. You just can’t make this stuff up. It involves “vote-rigging” Tom Feeney of Florida, and Gonzales & Drake, the two gay men who were found last week murdered in Florida. Drake has ties to a huge gay prostitution ring…..wonder why he was silenced?? Inquiring minds want to know. This will be the next “juicy scandal” to rock the GOP this weekend! Soon their numbers will be down in the teens! Disgusting!!

  23. Dan says:

Boehner, son of a tavern owner, thanks George W. Bush for his support.

  24. missmolly says:

Wow — Shrubya must REALLY be scraping the bottom of the barrel for suckups.

  25. razzle says:

Gay blade Bohner is still under investigation for the pedophilia involved in the Congressional Page Scandal. Guess Bush is right in his league then?

  26. Clyde the Ripper says:

“…Boehner is useful for the administration to reach Congress because the ‘White House has no credibility with this issue.’”

Boner doesn’t have any confidence with anybody on any issue. Typical bushco logic–listen to only those who say what you want to hear.

  27. razzle says:

Caption: Bush: Just a little lower, Boney-boy! Just a little lower, please.

  28. ken melvin says:

Bush is a dry drunk, Boehner a wet.

  31. Chicago Joe says:

I’m tellin’ ya, ol’ Boner and Petraeus are one bathroom stall foot tap away from a Medal of Freedom for the simple act of being the only clods able to keep their lips permanently puckered to Bush’s cowboy-wannabe struttin’ ass!

    What a BONER!!!

  32. AustinSF says:

Boehner > Troop Deaths = Small Price

And BUSH himself has said this nonsense also – guess they’ve been BFF for awhile now – as we now know where he got this idiotic comment.

What is disturbing is NO DEMOCRATS are saying anything on this today.

Except Kerry and the BlogNation BIG TIME

Kos “only a single Dem — John Kerry — has stepped forward to condemn Boehner. We hear various Democrats are weighing right now whether to try to make an issue of his comment. But thus far, there’s virtual silence. This is astonishing — particularly because Boehner’s remark captures rather nicely what’s going on with the war debate. Boehner, like the White House and most Republicans, is willing to sink an untold number of American lives into the pursuit of the fantasy of a stable Middle East and into the illusion that civilization as we know it will come to an end if we don’t defeat the
    ever omnipotent Al Qaeda”

  33. Snidely Whiplash says:

Bush cries in The White House.

Boehner cries on the floor of the House of Representatives.

    ** Nice leaders, Republicans! **

    hahahahahaha!!!

  34. MapleStreet says:

Article says that the WH has no credibility on the issue. So what happens when Boehner is seen as an empty microphone for the WH ??

Am I watching another person preparing to be thrown under the bus by the WH ?

  35. troqua says:

Boner: Dead soldiers = a little investment.

Come on, Mike Rogers, out this guy!

  36. Tired Of Fighting says:

We hear various Democrats are weighing right now whether to try to make an issue of his comment.

    Comment by AustinSF

The Democrats aren’t weighing, they’re waiting to see how this goes over in the country so they can gauge whether its appropriate to speak out. WHY? did we put these people in charge if all they do is ball up their fist and act like they want to fight but all they really do is stand there waiting for someone to knock the chip off or cross over the line that they have drawn over 1,000,000 times.

There is no opposition party anymore, unless you count the Armageddonist GOP when they’re the minority party.

I mean this country cannot afford to be lead by the corrupt, immoral, Armageddonist, GOP. Nor do we want to be led by the tepid, scared of their own shadow Democrats either.

Someone has to step up and want to TRULY bring the COUNTRY, not just the bases together, and it won’t be done by any who today call themselves Republicans or Democrats……..sadly.

    He also demands an apology.
The Comment “it is a small Price” when nearly 4000 People died is
    !!! !!! !!! *** outrageous *** !!! !!! !!!
I think we can demand an apology here also !!!

  51. Jay Randal says:

LOL that is because Bush wants to hold another Boner, since he misses Jeff Gannon.

What’s w/ the same color neckties? Some sort of ’secret” code?

  53. Marie says:

When is someone going to call Boehner on his outrageous comments about dead soldiers being a small price to pay.
Democrats are always pilloried in the press if they say anything unfavorable, but Repugnicans get away with whatever they do.

Move-On is castigated for calling Petraeus/Betray Us, even though they back up their arguments with facts in the ad text. People are not allowed to wear anti-Bush shirts on airplanes, but the Limbaughs, Hannitys, O’Reillys, Coulters Savages, Becks and Ingrahams of the rightwing can spout their vitriol, hatred, and fact-free lies with impunity.

    Where is the outrage?

  54. Helen Rainier says:

#49, Theresa — Geez, you think Bush and Boehner could appear on “Dancing With The Stars” as a couple? Just wonder who would wear the cute little samba numbers! Either way it would be ugly!

  59. NeoCONS 'R' SCUM says:

Chimpy just loves his ‘cartoon-characther looks, or is it the tan? Do you think they tan together? Do they cry together?
But I’m sure they both agree that all the dead and disabled soldiers and Eye-racki wardead are just a “small price to pay” fer free-DUMB.

  60. blog says:

What Boehner really meant: “It would be a small investment to pay to get people to buy into my lies”, because it was just this past month that it was reported that Al-Qaeda has reconstituted itself and is as strong or stronger than it was on 9/11.

  61. Tired Of Fighting says:
