Bush climate change program ’saddled with delays.’

A Bush administration program for improving climate research “is saddled with delays and threatened by cuts,” a panel said in a report today. It added that “insufficient effort has gone into translating advances in climate science into information useful to local elected officials” and others potentially affected by climate change.

Sounds like it’s being hampered by the political climate change.

  2. Matt says:

No surprise here. I doubt we will see any real effort to deal with climate change from this administration.

Perhaps the next President will make better use of their time and our money. Hopefully we will see some action from Congress and various State governments before that.

  3. dim wit says:

What are we expecting with this program anyway. I’m sure Bush’s solution to global warming is for all Americans to leave their refrigerator doors open.

Another New Orleans moment – go figure.

  5. VerbalKint says:

Bush is running out the clock on this failure, just like he always does. Is there a statute of limitations for Worst President Ever?

They say that New Orleans is a metaphor for the rest of the country.

  7. Menehune says:

They will need to implement a multi-million dollar, 2-year study to determine why the program is saddled with delays.

  8. Roger_Roger says:

What is the point of doing more studies? I thought the scientific community already concluded that we cause global warming and the world will end unless we stop eating cows.

  9. Menehune says:

#8 Roger… that is the snark in my statement. Too subtle, perhaps. Bush’s answer to any climate-change-related issue is to ask for “more study” and thereby kick the can down the road while enriching the industry lobbyists who prepare the “study”.

  10. Publicus says:

Bush is allergic to doing anything good.

  11. Polly Mathe says:

    No climate left behind.

How about a serious comment, or would you like to be belittled endlessly? If you don’t believe in global warming, fine, just offer some VALID counterpoint.

Just pin a note on your forehead saying “idiot”.

  14. logan says:

The climate change program shouldn’t even exist because Global Warming is a myth.

    Propaganda, that’s all it is.

There’s a lot of it these days.

Speaking of delays we are saddled with, when does Hot Tub Tom go to trial?

  19. jake says:

if about 1/2 of the country follows lib policy and does what most left leaning people believe, you can reach 1/2 of the goal, buy the energy efficent stuff, dont buy the gas gusslers, and the money hundry ‘coporate ‘ world will go where the money is- you really dont need pres bush to so anything- if ed begley can do it why cant you?

  20. MBentley says:

Since everyone who has commented on this so far seems to have absolutely no doubt that global warming is due to human activity, please tell me exactly what percentage of greenhouse gases is anthropogenic in nature?
And if you would be so kind, include cite.
    Thank you.
