Would you care to compare Al Gore’s entire take from speaking engagements, his movie and his books to last year’s compensation package Exxon paid to its CEO? The CEO’s pay dwarfs Gore’s total compensation and Gore is giving all proceeds from his movie to charity.

The effects of global warming will be with us long after oil has ceased to be an abundant commodity. But, what I was talking about was economic disaster – a huge depression and a world-wide economic collapse – because right now we have no alternative to fossile fuel for moving things around the globe and around our country. You want to gloss over that – fine. Be an idiot.

Look, you liberal fear mongers are constantly after ethereal boogeymen who never seem to materialize, while you ignore the real boogeymen who actually do maim and kill people. That’s your problem, not mine. And you are welcome to lose sleep over it. I choose not to.

Thinking people don’t buy the constant theories of imminent disaster. They didn’t believe it 40 years ago when “The Population Bomb” predicted disaster and mass starvation due to overpopulation by the late 1970’s. They didn’t believe in the global cooling of the 1970’s. And they don’t believe the idea that we are going to be burning up through global warming any time soon.

If you folks feel the need to constantly be under the gun, feel free to fill that need. Believe what you will. The rest of us aren’t obligated to follow you into your own dark ages.

Man made global warming is an unproven, and probably unprovable, theory. Simple as that.

Your first, (but not only) mistake is assuming there is a consensus on global warming.

Most liberals believe there is a consensus on everything, as long as the consensus agrees totally with the liberal point of view.

Unfortunately, the whole idea of a consensus blows up in liberal faces when the dissenters are taken into account. There are plenty of scientists who are skeptical of man-made global warming. Once again, liberals will merely ignore the skeptics, and hope they will go away. Kind of like ostriches who stick their head in the sand…if they can’t see it, it’s not a part of their world.

In the meantime, I’ve got to go fill up my motorhome.

I do think Global Warming is real, and it is caused mostly by humans, at least this time in our history. Now you say not to depend on corporations or the government. Well, we as individuals cannot accomplish something on such a large scale as Climate Change Reversal. We need either the government or corporations to do this. The question is this….Which is more representative of the will of the people? Not this current administration and not Exxon Mobil/Lockheed. A government that follows Constitutional Law is the answer. Corporatism was and always will be Fascism, and you can’t put perfume on that pig.

Whether you want to call it NWO or globalism or corporate greed, there is a class of people who want to control populations locally through global organizations like the UN and WTO. Sure, you could spin complicated conspiracy theories, or you could just read some of the minutes of their meetings or some of their memos or policy reports. The way a lot of these things read, it sounds like they want (gasp) more control (power). Then they dress it up in environmentalism and bang, it’s politically correct and publicly acceptable.

So the carbon tax is supposed to pay for development in poor countries. (But won’t that lead to more carbon in the atmosphere?) Ah, but first it funnels through other hands. It might be something like the IMF now. Everyone sure likes helping poor people. Funny how hundreds of billions are spent, yet the people are still poor. Hmm, how’d the facilitators of the program get so rich?

Whether global warming is real or not (sure, it’s real) doesn’t matter. The fear/concern is very real and there is a whole class of hucksters waiting to take advantage of the situation for their own agenda. Just do what you can as an individual. Don’t run to big government and big corporations (same thing) to help you. They will only help themselves.
