Snow On Long-Term Military Occupation: ‘Yeah, The Iraqis Want That’
Yesterday, President Bush told the nation he would endorse a long-term U.S. military presence in Iraq:
At the same time, they understand that [Iraq’s] success will require U.S. political, economic and security engagement that extends beyond my Presidency. These Iraqi leaders have asked for an enduring relationship with America. And we are ready to begin building that relationship.
Reinforcing Bush’s call, this morning, outgoing White House Press Secretary Tony Snow went as far as to claim the Iraqi public supports Bush’s call for an “enduring” occupation:
Q: How long are we going to be in Iraq? Because the President last night was setting the stage for a long-term relationship with the Iraqis, which would include a U.S. military presence there.
SNOW: Yeah, well, the Iraqis want that.

But earlier this week, an ABC News/BBC/NHK survey of Iraqis stated that 79 percent of Iraqis oppose the U.S. presence — including 84 percent of Shi’as and 98 percent of Sunnis:
Fifty-seven percent of Iraqis approve of attacks on U.S. troops, up from 17 percent in 2004. As Matthew Yglesias observed, “when an actual majority support killing our soldiers, then how, exactly, are the soldiers supposed to help Iraq’s population?”
Furthermore, in June, a majority of the Iraqi Parliament passed a resolution rejecting “the continuing occupation of their country.”
Americans and Iraqis stand united in telling President Bush to withdraw.

Sorry, but I don’t think so. He looks pale true. But look at WHY he looks pale. His eyebrows have CLEARLY been dyed to look lighter. So has his hair. If he was on Chemo to the point to make a physical appearance change, then his hair would be falling out. Its not. Its just lighter.
That gives him the appearance of being pale.
Look closer at the photos. Look at one from a month ago, and one now. His hair is still their. They just trimmed it, dyed it (or stopped using the Grecian Formula 16) and padded his suit coats.

Elizibeth Edwards comes out and announces her cancer has returned. The entire country becomes mesmerized with the Edwards for a day and his campaign gets thrust into the limelight.
Then, a day later, Tony Snow, the White House press secretary announces; “Hey, my cancers returned too!”.

Because Tony was already leaving.
Tony never intended on staying long. He is a heavy hitter and right now there are news channels and shows that would pay him a small mint for his presence. He was already commanding good money before his stint as press secretary, and now he’s worth his weight in gold. Snow even said when he took the job that it was temporary, just to help out until they filled the role.
In fact, they even said he’s leaving to “make more money”.
More money for what? He’s got the best health insurance in the world. You know he’s not paying hospital bills.
Snow is leaving because it was ALWAYS about the money for him, as it is with most of the occupants of the White House today. When the Edwards came out with their announcement of Elizibeths cancer returning, they used Tony’s previous medical history (and probably the report of a pollop or two, something we all have at his age) to draw attention away from the Edwards. The Edwards campaign lurched forward on the news of his wifes cancer returning, and he was positioned to be favored because of it. Everyone was feeling for Mrs Edwards, and then, the next day, here comes the White House Press Secretary declaring, “Hey! I’ve got it to!”.
I could be wrong and I realize its incendiary, but all I am doing is correlating what my eyes tell me, with the historical character of this administration, and thats what I end up with. If I’m wrong, damn me to hell. But I don’t think I am.

The Iraqi leadership want it. They are elected from the Iraqi people after all and realize the country will collapse if we leave.
