On Friday, President Bush “sat down for a round-table interview” with military bloggers and talked about the war in Iraq. As the Washington Post notes, the blogs at the meeting were “generally pro-Bush and pro-military, and the ensuing reports were highly sympathetic to the president”:
Matthew Burden, a former Army officer who blogs under the name Blackfive, raved about how Bush slapped his hand and called him “brutha.”
“The President was very intelligent, razor sharp, warm, focused, emotional (especially about his dad), and genuine,” Blackfive wrote. “Even more so than this cynical Chicago Boy expected. I was overwhelmed by the sincerity — it wasn’t staged.” […]
When it was all over, the bloggers seemed wowed. “All in all, it was an amazing day for Military.com and one I’ll never forget,” Carroll wrote. “In fact, I’d rank the event a close second to the time I sat in with Cheap Trick. It was that good.”

One Cheap Trick for another.

The Bush administration has got to be the most lilly livered dog and pony show thats ever occupied the White House.
September 16th, 2007 at 2:21 pmAmazing how easily people are fooled. Strange how so many can be “honored” by the presence of this phoney human being that has cost so many Americans their lives.
Just once I would like to see someone refuse to shake his hand or meet with him. No wonder Bush still thinks he is admired. Disgusting !!!
September 16th, 2007 at 2:22 pmAnd then those bloggers bent over, squeezed the Astroglide, and let Bush spill his DNA all over their asses.
September 16th, 2007 at 2:22 pm“The President was very…emotional (especially about his dad)…” - - Of course he means his higher Father.
September 16th, 2007 at 2:32 pmMaybe if Bush/Cheney allowed for a little dissent into these “Everything Is Great / We’re Kickin’ Ass” propaganda pushes, they might have at least a shred of credibility. That Bush/Cheney to have to be constantly reinforced through 100% sympathetic audiences and always-positive reports by subordinates makes it clear that they are too insecure to allow even a little dissent into their lives.

September 16th, 2007 at 2:51 pmPsychotics, like Bush, are fixated on a certain view of the world and of their place in it. They ignore any and all information that might challenge their delusions. Gradually, they retreat into the inner recesses of their tormented mind and become dysfunctional.
September 16th, 2007 at 2:51 pmHow ironic that someone with the name “Hillary Whacked Vince” is talking about HATE and IGNORANCE. But I guess when you get down to the Bush supporters that are left, then you are scraping the bottom of the barrel.

But I wouldn’t send my kids or go myself because I’m already doing my share to support the troops via this cool ribbon on my SUV.

I would really like to see Bush face the public just one time. But he’s too big a chicken shit to actually face the people he is screwing over. Every appearance he does is carefully controlled and only people who love him (picked from the 28% of morons in this country) are allowed within 50 feet of him.

It is no secret that Betrayus wants to be President. Everything he has done since 2004 when he interjected himself into the 2004 Presidential race (a real no-no for people in the military) has been aimed towards enhancing his image as a Republican. He could care less about we the people and he could care less about the military. All he cares about his his political future. Hopefully, he won’t have one. September 16th, 2007 at 7:00 pm“the blogs at the meeting were generally pro-Bush and pro-military.”
I served in the U.S. Air Force during the early 1970s.
I’m anti-Bush, pro-military, anti-Iraq War, and totally for going after any of the al Qaeda criminals responsible for the 9/11 attacks, wherever they might be hiding.
In the military, we had a term that describes all the right-wing bloggers at this staged Bush meeting…brown-nosers. Brown-nosers always sucked-up to authority figures, waiting to be petted as if they were some pet dog or pony.
I didn’t have any time (nor respect) for sycophantic brown-nosers while in the military, just as I don’t have any time (or respect) for them now. They never question authority. They blindly follow orders. How un-American. How unpatriotic. How un-democratic. And if done by a U.S. citizen who’s a civilian, how utterly dangerous for our fellow citizens serving in the U.S. military at this time.
But at least we now know some of the sycophantic right-wing “military” bloggers who have helped damage our military so much, and who have helped cause the deaths (and maiming) of so many U.S. soldiers and Iraqi citizens.
