NCDC reports on global temperatures:

“The combined global land and ocean surface temperature for August was the 8th warmest on record, 0.85Â°F/0.47Â°C above the 20th century mean.”

8th warmest? So it wasn’t getting warmer this August. Even James Hansen has told us that global averages are what’s important, not US averages.

The fact that there have only been 11, now mine makes it 12 posts, shows that obviously Americans don’t care in the slightest about global warming.
Give it up. We are heading towards disaster and massive animal extinction, but hey, we can wear flip flops year round! I no longer pay any attention. Please realize, no one cares. That is until their house is burnt, or flooded or something.

It didn’t seem warmer than 72 degrees to me….oh, what Uncie Dick, air conditioning? Why didn’t anyone tell me about air conditioning? Why don’t we just run air conditioners all the time that would take care of it, right Uncie Dick? Oh, you mean if we do something about the warming thing you will lose some profits? Well I’ll be decidering about that then, turn on the lights and start up the SUV’s we got some money to be made. Babs get me somemore pretzels.

I mean CO2 as well. According to an NYU biologist interviewed in Wiseman’s book, it would take about 100,000 years for earth’s natural geologic processes to get CO2 back down to the 280 ppm preindustrial level if all humans were to vanish today. The excess CO2 and higher ocean temperatures are already disrupting the natural ocean and rock cycles that normally scrub CO2 from the atmosphere.
