I never used to care what party a nominee was in, as long as it was their qualifications, experience, and committment to the country and the rule of law that they assessed. Compromise is great when both parties are working for the good of the nation, but the members of the GOP have brought politics to a new low, seem to feel no remorse in lying and cheating, and sadly just can’t be trusted.

Iâ€™d say that 90% of the liberals here arenâ€™t interested in compromise either. Itâ€™s not just the â€˜neoconsâ€™.. Itâ€™s the extremists on both sides. Any independent thought here automatically gets the poster labeled as a republican, conservative, neocon, nazi, etc.

I’ll throw my two cents in here and say that I’ve noticed that dissenting views are highly tolerated when presented without insulting all of the other posters. Some of the visitors here can be confrontational.

Back to the topic at hand. I don’t trust this so-called right-wing outrage one little bit. These days it seems that anything to the left of Fox News is considered liberal!

I didn’t mean that all TP posters are intolerant, but there are enough here that ANY independent thought that strays from TP’s points will get you flamed, because there are enough of them. I am liberal, but not all my thoughts follow those of some of the more extreme (and usually rude and confrontational) posters here. I didn’t mean that everyone on the site will label you. It is just as bad from the other side, as you pointed out.

I’d like to think that the attacks are real, however, the skeptical side of me can’t be sure.

Could this be similar to two pro wrestlers, when interviewed after a match, both screaming about how they’re going to tear the other limb from limb, only to be found in a local watering hole a couple of hours later, drinking pitchers of beer and yukking it up?

Perhaps time will tell. In the meantime, we must be sure to focus on actions, not words.

Whilst you are saying “any independent thought…” YOU automatically categorize ALL TP posters as being intolerant. Not true. Yes, SOME TP posters are flamers, no matter what, but if someone comes here w/ an honest opinion, it can be debated, by some of us.

So many times, the ones that come here to “debate” lead off calling everyone here “Leftards”, “Moonbats”, “Terroris-coddlers”, ad nauseum. It’s that sort of “all-in-one” blanket condemnation and name-calling that gets them flamed. You did that, whether you realize it or not. “Automatically gets labled…”

You are claiming we are all extremists due to the labeling, but you did the EXACT same thing. That make sense?

So complaining about being falsely labeled a conservative, nazi, etc, warrants such treatment?
Don’t Do It is right, it happens here a lot. Views that don’t go along with the far left often get a person labeled libelously. Even one view straying from far-left beliefs gets a person tagged a fascist.
Most people here are reasonable, but there are a few that jump the gun a bit too often. One beautiful thing about the democratic party is that it truly is the Big Tent party. The Repubs squash any dissent. Dems shouldn’t do the same thing. There’s room for everyone and everyone should have a voice.
