My car has been vandalized twice in the last week because of my “Impeach Bush” and “Create Peace” bumperstickers.

I’m told that I “hate the troops” because I want our soldiers to have proper armor and equipment.

I’m told that I “hate the troops” because I want our soldiers to have proper rest between deployments.

I’m told that I “hate the troops” because I want returning vets to have proper medical care and mental health services.

I’m told that I “hate the troops” because I want returning vets to have a home to come home to that hasn’t been repossessed and a job that hasn’t been filled by someone else.

I’m told over and over and over again that I “hate the troops” because I WANT THEM TO COME HOME to their families.

What the f*ck is wrong with this country???

Sadly, we still don’t have very many civilian alternatives to military service, like apprenticeships, for those not college bound. And now this pointless and tragic war has removed even the military option as a viable alternative.

Hey Tyrone, do you actually know anyone who is actually in the military (and playing in the bathtub with GI Joe dolls doesn’t count)

For the record everyone I know that joined the military joined the military for one of two reasons

1) No local jobs
2) Money for college

Don’t kid yourself silly child. Many of the young men and woman in the military joined to improve their lives, whether it was for steady employment with benefits or for money for college, many of the people serving in the military have no intentions of staying forever and don’t appreciate bottom feeders like you who would just send them off to fight in another man’s civil war without a second thought.

As someone who has two cousins serving in the current debacle – people like you “Tyrone” disgust me. People like you need to get a life besides a life of starting conflicts with whomever you please, often times people you don’t even know, just for the sake of argument.

People like Tyrone have no life. They are losers, so they go to websites and start arguments with people, arguments they know they will not win. Why? I’m not sure why, but people like Tyrone are just bitter in life and they are never happy unless they are starting a conflict.

Tyrone must also lack intelligence, because everything that spews out of his keyboard only reinforces the point of view of the readers on here, your not changing any minds Tyrone.

But feel free to waste your time! Be my guest to make right wingers look even more clueless and disgusting that usual. Thank you!

Um, actually on a serious note the media has been trying to make anti Iraq war protesters look unpatriotic from the beginning.

It is also quite counterintuitive for some to believe that sending troops off to die in another man’s civil war is somehow supporting them and somehow patriotic.

I support the troops, I just don’t support this Administration’s abuse of the troops.

The troops are Bush’s army men in his play field as he gets his Commander Guy stuff on.

The troops have been used as human shields in Bush’s ever search for some meaning out of invading and occupying Iraq.

The ones wishing to keep us in this conflict BASED ON LIES, are also therefore LIARS, wishing to keep the troops fighting, getting maimed for life, and dying for oil and greater corporate profits… these nice folks who protest to keep our troops away from their families and loved ones, and try to make sure that they remain and DIE… These nice folks ARE NOT SUPPORTING THE TROOPS… They are supporting continued state sponsored murder however, and that IS good for the economy… GAWD, don’t get me started!

Saw it coming many many months ago just like the lies for war with Iran.

Or it’s like saying you support the Lakers (which I don’t very often, being a Celtics fan) and you’d send them to play basketball rather than football.

(I’m trying reeeeally hard to come up with a joke about athletic supporters, but it’s not working.)

No, it means you wish the best for our troops but you don’t agree with the political decision to send them to war. Remember, this is a political war. It has no positive strategic significance whatsoever, only negative.

What about those of us who join to be a hero? Those that love to fight for RIGHT not just to fight. Those that would be just as happy if no one wanted to fight because they knew we would come to help not to further our own agenda.

I will not characterize all the troops or pretend that I speak for each and every one; however, they do a great job fighting at the behest of the country they trust and believe in. They hope that their beloved country would not abuse their trust. Individual troops do not have the luxury of challenging the overall foreign policy of the United States. If they are given a mission to secure in area, they will secure it. That is why it is up to EVERY CITIZEN to ensure that our military is not misused or abused – when it is, it is our DUTY to our troops as well as our country to correct these transgressions against our military as well as other countries.

You are only the good guy if you ACT like the good guy. Power is not the same as righteousness.
