Last week, after Gen. David Petraeus gave his status report on Iraq in testimony to the House, Media Matters pointed out that seven out of eight analysts featured by Fox News that day were pro-escalation. The cable news network even cut away to Ann Coulter when war critics questioned Petraeus. Brave New Films released a new Fox Attacks video today that condenses the decidedly unfair and unbalanced coverage down to 90 seconds. Watch it:
FOX news has always worked for the GOP and the Bush Regime.
September 18th, 2007 at 11:20 amWell, Ann is Pro-Bush, so why not Pro-Escalation?
September 18th, 2007 at 11:25 amO BOY!! Tranny Anny Coultergeist is getting meaner and uglier as she slowly circles the drain. Wake me when that turd is gone!
September 18th, 2007 at 11:27 amHey, Romeo,
I'm still waiting for you to show your math back in the 'poll-americans-unhappy-with-bush-policy-after-iraq-speech' thread.
September 18th, 2007 at 11:29 amHey, Trip,
September 18th, 2007 at 11:30 amIt's there.
Do you really think that the same bias doesn't happen in the other direction on CNN or ABC?
Or how about MSNBC using Patrick Buchanan almost everyday to represent the conservative side?
So FoxNews has a slightly right of center slant, so what?
September 18th, 2007 at 11:31 amFOX isn't even bothering to disguise their role as an administration propaganda outlet anymore.
The FOX employees are just as guilty of treason as the administration, and deserve exactly the same fate.

You mean Pat Buchanan is a leftie? Whoah. The man whose 1992 GOP speech was supposed to sound 'better in the original German'?
So FoxNews has a slightly right of center slant, so what?
Comment by Ringo — September 18, 2007 @ 11:31 am
Well, let see, 'Fair and Balanced' and 'slightly (?) right of center' - would seem to be two statements at odds with each other, n'est-ce pas (that's French, Ringo).

I agree! Look what they did to Ron Paul, and he isn't even a Dem!
Besides, the demographics of the Faux Entertainment Channel doesn't have the group intelligence to recognize truth when it hits them in the ass, anyway. They will all be going down with SS BushCo, singing the Happy Song as the waves wash over their sorry-ass heads.
September 18th, 2007 at 11:41 amAnybody really surprised?
Attention to detail though.... is this a future piece? I wouldn't be surprised to see the same thing next year as well but I thought it was only 2007

I have no use for Ann Coulter, but I believe she was making a joke when she said that....Not a very funny one, but still.
September 18th, 2007 at 12:00 pmDidn't Coulter write an entire book on how Libs are traitors?
September 18th, 2007 at 12:02 pmSo doesn't she want everyone of them executed? I mean, that is what happens to traitors under the law, right?
Not a very funny one, but still.

Sorry, that's no different from what you described above.

Mornin', P. Love you too!
September 18th, 2007 at 12:07 pmThe REAL question for FOX is. Are they profitable? That it the bottom line. Do tilting right allows them to be profitable? If so, that is business, and nothing to do with politics?

Point for dlet! Good one!
September 18th, 2007 at 12:17 pmI usually love all of these videos, but this one was really stupid. From the beginning when the date was listed as 2008, they lost a lot of credibility and then it went all kinds of crazy and jumping around not making sense. Saying Fox is biased is like saying doughnuts make you fat. DUH

September 18th, 2007 at 12:20 pmSo which news source would you folks be more likely to trust, FoxNews or Al Jazeera?
Just wondering.
September 18th, 2007 at 12:21 pmTP sure gave the pro-kill-terrorist-crowd an equal amount of time. It is sad that Fox and TP don't give the other side some time. While TP is against engaging those that wish us harm, it seems wise to let those that believe we should fight the people that want us dead some time.

Uhhhh, rr,
We at TP have always supported going after OBL and his supporters in the Taliban. But that wasn't meshing with your heroe's wanting the oil and the hard bases in the ME for the NeoCons and Israel.
The Iraqis just want us out, as would you, if your country was invaded. Or maybe not, maybe that is OK with you. Just like having your Constitution ripped up, your grandkids stuck with a debt so large, it will never be repaid, the US dollar almost worthless, etc.
September 18th, 2007 at 12:35 pmThe most balanced account of the Petraeus report isn't on FOX News (obviously) instead its on Comedy Central:

By providing a pulpit for the extreme right wingnut and hate monger Ann Coulter, Fox news proves beyond any reasonable doubt, that they are nothing more than the propaganda arm of the right wing.
September 18th, 2007 at 12:50 pm10 or 15 years from now, when Americans and the world are discussing the attrocitites committed by the Americans in Iraq, and the horrors inflicted on the Iraqi people by our ill advised and unwarranted invasion of their country, people will be examining the words and statements of the newscasters and "tele-journalists", and how they were complicit in the war, by pushing obvious lies by the Bush administration and not challanging the unAmerican concept (it was a Nazi concept) of pre-emptive war.
The news people, and I mean all of them, better think long and hard about what they're reporting. Because history will have ample and unlimited video records of their miserable commitment to the truth, and their utter complacency in passing along information that they clearly knew was false.
September 18th, 2007 at 1:02 pmAnd I'm not just talking about FOX.
September 18th, 2007 at 1:02 pmCondensing the Fox coverage to 90 seconds is in itself unfair. What about all the times they allowed Democrats to speak? What about the footage of Petraeus that didn't have a subtle glow supered over it to make him look more saintly? Did they include the moment when Ann Coulter tilted her head a little, exposing her adam's apple? Well, that all should count.
September 18th, 2007 at 7:38 pmhonestly, the ratio of 7:1 in their pro/anti coverage is more balanced than I would have expected! And they didn't even introduce them as a 'defeatocrat'.
