‘A small price?’

Americans United for Change launched this ad today, criticizing Rep. John Boehner’s (R-OH) recent remarks that the U.S. troop casualties would be a “small price to pay” to stay in Iraq over the long-term. Watch the ad:

In a recent interview with Fox News, Boehner “dissembled so ostentatiously about his initial comments that even Fox News couldn’t help but call him on it.”

    small price – small man

So, the Boner has spread more of his Ohio bullsh!t and can’t clean it up. What else is new …… other than he didn’t break out and cry (or did he?)

  3. Above the Clouds says:

The only real Americans paying “any” price for Bush’s Iraqi failure are the soldiers and teir families. As the November 2008 elections draw ever-closer, Boehner and the GOP will become increasingly anti-war, which happens to be the place where most of America is.

The GOP is showing us that what’s wrong with America isn’t MoveOn or Michael Moore or the Dixie Chicks.

  4. Jay Randal says:

That is why he gets called a Boner > lol.

  5. DennisRaines says:

Ah. It’s about the money… it’s what $.35 each tax dollar?

  6. Your Conscience says:

“Hey soldier, that amputated stump kinda looks like a comma”

    —Rep. John Boehner (R-OH)

  7. Marie says:

Shall I expect that Rep. Roy Blunt will offer an resolution condemning Boehner’s remarks?

  8. Veritas says:

A “small price” to pay for the pedophile enabling which John Boehner has done in the Congressional Page program would be to impeach him from Congress, that’s what a small price would be.

  9. Zooey says:

You know you’re f*cking up when Fox calls you on your bullshit.

BTW, Psycho President, I think I’m in love with you. ;)

  10. Gregor Samsa says:

Ah, yes, a small price, a comma.

That is what the sociopathic freaks call the death and destruction their misguided, wrongheaded policies have brought about.

GREAT ad, Americans United for Change! You ROCK!

Unfortunately, he is right. It probably is a small price to pay. But dont be fooled into thinking he is talking about “security” of the USA.

he is talking about access to oil and the the benefits of that access on the long term stability of the US economy.

You want to stop these wars properly. Then change your lifestyle. Be energy efficient in the home, in the car and at work. because if you live a lifestyle not much different to the average republican then you are every bit as invested in the conflict as the average street-hawk.

Sorry, daytripper, but we disagree. If everyone in the U.S. and China were to follow your advice, there would still be a problem with the human contribution to global warming, and a high demand for fossil fuels.

The largest contributor to greenhouse gases and the largest users of fossil fuels in the U.S. and China are factories and manufacturing plants, not the average citizen. Until the citizens require the global conglomerates that own the polluting factories and plants to clean up their act, and lower their dependency on fossil fuels little progress will be made, no matter what we do.

Your suggestion sounds like the Ad Council’s response to the pollution of of our land, lakes, rivers, and streams: “Don’t litter!”

  14. daytripper says:

but im not talking about any environmental impact persay.

im talking about your general lifestyle that consumes everything at rate way beyond any other nation on earth. that lifestyle consumes oil at a vociferous rate. so what im saying is if you want to reduce your countries need for foriegn oil, and by default wars of aggression, then i would suggest a change. if you carry on living the wasteful lifestyle then really theres little that separates you from the average GOP pro-war goon.

Less consumption all round by the consumer base will reduce demand on fossil fuels and thereby human impact on the enviornment.

the ‘whole we cant change unless they do’ excuse is utterly bogus. and is proof that the last half centurys social engineering has successfully atomised almost an entire civilisation.

Ohio has this little problem with broken balloting equipment…or maybe that was rigged balloting equipment. John Boehner is evidence of that. The NeoCon’s had their way with our poor beleagured state in ‘04, turning it into the Florida of ‘04. The real estate market is so messed up here that nobody can afford to leave this land of shame to the rich Repubs who messed it up.

Boehner is just another pubic….whoops, I mean, public tool….whoops, I mean, servant for the right wanger…whoops, I mean, winger machinery.

I’m sure if somebody killed over 3,000 of his personal friends, he would think it was a high price. Of course, its doubtful that he has 3,000 friends. More like a flock of sheep and the sheep shearer, praise Jesus.
