I think their should be legislation passed that states that any corporation that outsources jobs to other countries should not be allowed to lobby or give political contributions to candidates.

Corporations should NOT BE ALLOWED to participate in the election process period, SINCE THEY DO NOT VOTE!!!! THe screwed up country allows Aliens who have a corporation to have MORE influence in this government than the citizens.
Letting corporations have influence is duality of power. The people that are in the corp have a right to vote (if they are citizens), they should not then get a larger ability to influence government by ALSO using the corporate power to more strongly influence government.

There is NO Filibuster. The stupid Congress has agreed to think of the THREAT of filibuster as an actual filibuster. THere is no grandstanding, no long winded speeches, just the UNCONSITUTIONAL threat of a filibuster, and these Fukcing Dems cave into the THREAT of a filibuster, as if it truly IS a filibuster.
Tell the Republitoids to get up, and TRULY filibuster. They wouldn't have the gall nor ability to actually do it.

THIS IS 1984. WHAT THE FUKC IS GOING ON???????

So that would be 23 short of passage. Screw the 60 to survive a Republican fillibuster. Last I check, simple majority passes. It's then up to the President -- sorry, the Decider -- to decide whether to sign or not. We worry about the 60 some other day.

>Wow, Dems have lost an enormous amount of support on this issue.

Sorry, when exactly was this identical bill offerred before, and how much support did it get then?

And you know, a "vote" to cut off hypothetical future funding isnt necessary.. the funding doesnt magically materialize by itself. You know funding has to be voted FOR, right H man? I think what most of the congress wants is funding, but with stipulations....

Come on, almost every member of Congress has ties with Oil and War corps. Why would they suspend funding when they are making record profits?

If the Democrats are actually sincere in seeing this occupation come to a halt, then they can do two things. As Congressman Kucinich has attempted to point out time and time again, apparently to no avail, when another bill comes around to provide more funds for this unnecessary occupation, all the Democrats have to do is not vote for the bill. It really is that simple. When that happens, the war machine must collapse since there will be no more money to keep it afloat. Yes, as Kucinich has also stated, there is already enough money in the pipeline to ensure that their needs are met while they are in Iraq.

The second thing that the Democrats can do is that when a bill does come up for passage, it simply takes 41 senators to sustain a filibuster in order to make sure that that bill does not come up for a vote. Again, it does not take a majority or 60 or 67 votes to block the passage of those funds but 41, which the Democrats should certainly be able to do. The question becomes, why do they not seem to have the will and the courage to act on either one of these options?

With leaders like this, it doesn't matter if there's a Republican president or a Republican minority. They would find ways of accomplishing nothing if they had the white house and supermajorities in the House and Senate.

You know it's about time for a change of democratic party leadership.

It needs someone like webb or feingold. Someone that will say ok well we will continue until we get a full vote. Filibuster if you want, we are not going to allow any weaker bills.

Get a spine democrats. The repugs are not the republican party any more. beat them at their game.

While I will vote Democratic this coming election period I will only be doing so nationally. I will be giving Independents my voice. Next period screw the Dems. I will not continue to vote for spineless hacks. l

What a bunch of wimps... I'm not giving the DSCC another DIME until I see them start passing these bills (and the Webb amendment) and FORCING THE REPUBLICANS TO ACTUALLY FILIBUSTER!

Let's see the Republicans standing up hours on end declaring how much they hate our military by wanting to keep them in Iraq as long as possible, drain our treasury and destroy our international prestige (what's left of it). Let the Republicans stand and show America just what kind of scum that they really, truly are.
