Fired U.S. attorney honored by home state.

On December 7, 2006, the Justice Department asked John McKay to resign as the U.S. Attorney for Washington state. Now, nearly a year after he was fired, McKay is being honored for his contributions to the legal community. Last night, “he accepted the Washington State Bar Association’s Courageous Award with a subtle nod and a small smile. Outgoing state bar association President Ellen Dial handed McKay the award, saying he served with dignity and honor ‘in the face of controversy.’”

    ‘Clinton did it, too!’

Short gasps from a soon to be man w/o a hero to worship.

Jake, may you soon go the way of Alberto, Scooter, Karl, Tom, Bob, Dan, Tony, Monica, James, Jack, Duke, Larry, Mark and every other Neoturd pond scum lurking in our government.

STFU is way to nice, so I’ll just hold my other thoughts, mmkay?

I have no problem with John McKay.

I’m so glad he meets with your approval, Shakey.

I simply want ONE STANDARD. If it’s O.K. for Clinton to fire U.S. Attorneys for political reasons, why can’t Bush?

We’ve explained this for you in detail several times before, dolt. I’m not inclined to waste my time explaining it to you yet again. If you’re genuinely curious, look up the answer on the past threads.

    One syllable words might help.

Clinton selected the best attorneys regardless of political affiliation and did so in a way that other Presidents before him have done.

Bush selected attorneys solely for political gain with total disregard for the previous attorney’s abilities (hence the award from the state Bar Association to Mr. McKay) soley to manipulate the legal process.

damn… sorry, couldn’t explain in one syllable words… maybe that explains why they never change their minds…..

Don’t bother, raynman…Shakey has had this explained to him at least a dozen times, and he still pretends it’s an issue.

Truth to Republicans is like garlic and vampires. They are afraid of it and it can kill them.

They always fall back on CLINTON DID IT! when it suits them. If there is nothing else to say, well then, bring up the tired Clinton argument.

    YAWN!

Pooor Jakey, R2 and Jason and Ex! What do you think will happen in 09 when the cockroaches are fumigated out of the woodwork and we have a new DoJ and at least one new SCOTUS Justice?

Will be fun to watch that.

I’m glad John McKay was honored. He’s a good man who’s respected by Democrats and Republicans alike for his integrity, honesty, and competance. He did not deserve to be fired.

  9. And Yet... says:

Absolutely, missmolly. John McKay’s brother Mike was also USA for the western district of WA. Both men served honorably. BTW, Paul Charlton, fired USA from AZ, was also honored in ‘07 for outstanding contributions to the legal profession by the AZ Bar Association.

They sure as hell fired some good people in what appears to be a political purge/vendetta following last November’s election.

  10. SP Biloxi says:

Good for him. I am glad. McKay deserved that honor. And he didn’t deserved to be fired.

  11. Doc Rock says:

Rostenkowski was indicted and went to jail DURING Bill Clinton’s administration. Clinton did pardon Rostenkowski AFTER Rostenkowski had served his full sentence.
