“Violence in Iraq has pushed more than twice as many Iraqis to seek asylum in industrialized countries during the first half of 2007 compared with the same period last year,” according to the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees. “Iraqis top the list of people seeking asylum in 36 of the world’s richest countries.”
Sounds like that surge is doing a bang-up job.
September 21st, 2007 at 3:16 pmDon’t worry we will take in our share, like all seven or so of them.

September 21st, 2007 at 3:29 pmIraqi refugee boys growing up in Syria and Iran will surely love America.
September 21st, 2007 at 3:31 pmThere’s no room at the inn for these people who we have displaced.
What we have done to Iraq is a disgrace. What we have not done to help them recover from the damage we have done to their country is even more of a disgrace.
Republicans have no conscience and no soul. And look what it has done to our country.

This is sad, but true. And every one of those displaced persons are going to love us forever, especially the ones we deny entrance to our country.

September 21st, 2007 at 3:40 pmNow wonder the Iraq people say they were better off under the rule of Saddam. Millions have gone to Iran/Syria/Turkey/Jordan and so many other countries.
September 21st, 2007 at 3:41 pmYet I notice 3 have come the the US out of the request of 30,000 plus. Some Iraq people requesting help are those who helped the US during the illegal invasion. Yes these Iraq people believed the US was good and honest only to learn the US will lie to your face and steal what you have. Future generations will know better never to trust an American President as their example is George W. Bush the true Liar-in-Chief.
Woman in Iraq have to be prostitutes to feed their kids not wonder Senators like Vitter and other wanted to go to Iraq all the time. Yes and those elected officials that are child molester had a field day with so many Iraq children left alone. Yes Cheney gives his buddies open field to do what they want in Iraq just to give him time to steal oil. As for Bush he’s insane as he says Saddam killed all the Mandela’s.

September 21st, 2007 at 3:42 pmWon’t it be more difficult for the Iraqis to shower us with flowers and chocolates if they’re scattered all over the place?
September 21st, 2007 at 3:59 pm/sarcasm on with Repugniscum seasoning
Why would any sane person or country let a gawd-damn Iraqi, terrorist into their country w/o swearing allegience to Jebus especially since GW Botch has warned us all to suspect these non-Christians.
/sarcasm off
We can fix this much quicker if we impeach Cheney and then GW Botch!!
September 21st, 2007 at 4:02 pmWe just received TWO (count ‘em — two) Iraqi refugees in our state.

At this rate, we should be able to meet our promise to take in 7000 Iraqi refugees in — a couple of centuries or so?
September 21st, 2007 at 4:03 pmIraqis top list of asylum seekers.
But to be fair, thats just because we’re taking so long with their paper work, they queue up into a bigger line.

Well for KreistSakes, you wouldn’t want to seek asylum in the world’s poorest countries, would you?

Hey, that decision makes 100% sense. It was about cultural sensitivity. Farsi-ians are a more conservative group, who would look down upon the gays, allowing the two groups to interact would cause even more hatred towards America.
September 21st, 2007 at 4:39 pmIsn’t it funny that we invaded Iraq to “liberate” the people, but the refugees fleeing the country are not welcome here at all?
September 21st, 2007 at 4:45 pmPut a human face on the numbers, and we have created a refugee crisis of Epic proportions. What are these Iraqi parents thinking about America, as they watch their kids go hungry and uneducated??
