On Thursday, best-selling author John Grisham said in an interview with the Des Moines Register that the Bush administration is built around “bad people with evil intent.” “The war is an immoral abomination that we’ll pay for for decades to come,” added Grisham. “We’re paying for it now at the rate of 100 kids a month while Bush plays politics with it.”
Mr. Gresham has ventured into the land of non-fiction and has landed another best-seller.
September 23rd, 2007 at 11:45 amAnd another voice joins the swelling chorus. IMPEACH!
September 23rd, 2007 at 11:50 amOf course, we here agree with him, but comments from celebrities, actors, authors et. al., will be roundly dismissed — unless of course it is Ted Nugent and his ilk, in which case their words will be repeated many times.
September 23rd, 2007 at 11:51 amWhen a HUGE bestselling author, and lawyer, puts together a book detailing the criminal activities of bushco, the word WILL get out to the masses.
And being a good, old Southern boy give him street cred in the Red States.
Let’s face it, Michael Crithton served the ant-global warming faction with his “State of Fear”.
Grisham, I’m going to start buying your books again.
PEACE
September 23rd, 2007 at 12:03 pmAlthough I COMPLETELY agress with Grisham’s statements about the Bushies.
I don’t agree that Hillary will be the answer to this country’s woes.
Hillary is a neo-con in a pantsuit with a hairstylist.
We need Kucinich or at least a real progressive.
But, is this country really ready for someone that offers real change not just courting Hollywood while embracing the status quo (coddling Israel and the elite etc.)
September 23rd, 2007 at 12:17 pmOne-by-one, the major figures in our culture have for the most part come out against this traitorous administration. I don’t know anyone who likes George Bush. I was in the DMV the other day and overheard a person arguing with a DMV employee at the counter over a decision of theirs and gave them this parting shot: “you must like George Bush”. Accusing someone of supporting George Bush has now become the worst insult you can shout at someone.
September 23rd, 2007 at 12:36 pmi love grisham’s stories…
and i always figured him for a good guy, because his heroes
are good guys, trying to do the right thing…
he’s mostly avoided airing his politics…
September 23rd, 2007 at 12:44 pmi’m grateful he’s said these very truthful and simple things…
…
Thanks Grish.;
I’ve been thinking the same thing for 7 years now.
Never thought it could get this bad. Sadly, it might get worse.

September 23rd, 2007 at 12:46 pmIt is interesting that despite years of the clean and convincing evidence of the Bushco’s intent to destroy the reputation and standing of America in the world, as well as every safety net and our right to dissent, many well known celebs have waited until it is now “safe” to jump on the “bush is a bum” wagon. Where were these “defenders” of the American way of life when they would have helped to keep this criminal Bushco gang out of office for a second term? While they public support is welcomed, it is still too little – too late.
September 23rd, 2007 at 12:51 pmUh…. duh?
Only the kool-aid drinking, personality cult-following30%ers think otherwise, and believe Bush’s intentions in the Middle East are high and noble -all evidence to the contrary be damned…
September 23rd, 2007 at 1:50 pmGrisham is a bad, bad, “Librul”!
September 23rd, 2007 at 1:56 pmTime for for the radical right wing blogoshpere to launch one of their fatwahs against free speech.
I say a “good ole fashin’ book burnin’” is past due!
Anyone have a steamroller?
The Bush master plan for Iraq is to maintain the status quo until he can dump the whole responsibility in the lap of the next administration–how typical of a bully/coward.
September 23rd, 2007 at 3:44 pmJohn Grisham came out against George Bush because he loves the law.
Just like Tom Clancy came out against Bush because he loves the military.
Because when Bush are through both of them will be in ruins.
September 23rd, 2007 at 3:57 pmWell said by John Grisham. Can’t wait for Steven King’s response.
September 23rd, 2007 at 4:35 pmJohn Grisham is just in time as Barbara Bush is teaching people how to raise their children not to drink and do drugs. Yes it is so funny. Barbara and George Bush family religious family values. Son’s are liars, thieves and drunks as well as sleeping with other woman while married which Daddy Bush has been doing for many many years. Laura Bush arranged marriage to the idiot George after killing her ex boyfriend. Bush grandchildren list reads drunks, drugs, assaults, being kicked out of a country for wildness. Now I guess that’s the example other Americans are to follow.
One would think that Cowboy GW at lease would be able to ride a horse but he can’t he’s scared just like he was when he was asked to serve in the Military.
September 23rd, 2007 at 4:35 pmjackie – you sure can come up with some wild notions, mixed in with the common knowledge tidbits…
September 23rd, 2007 at 5:25 pm“arranged marriage”??? ha! … that’s kinda funny…
but, c’mon… keep it real, k?
:-]
the Bush administration is built around “bad people with evil intent.â€
When he said ‘is built around’, he may have meant ‘are’.

Living in California let’s us get infor that sometimes the media would want to keep from the public.
Here’s the facts. George W. dated a young lady from California attending college in Texas. George got his BA in 1968. Now comes the real wild years even the Military was to much for George. Yes in 1976 George W. Bush was charged and found guilty of DUI. Then it seems Daddy got George involved in the Oil business.
Surprise George met Laura on Sept 1977 George met Laura on Nov. 5, 1977 they got married in a very small wedding with no bridesmaids no flower girls just the Preacher and a small amount of guest. Nice wedding for one of the riches families in Texas. Oh yes Harold Welch Laura’s father died and the family lost their business as her Mother was the bookkeeper and never got another job. So believe what you want but the dates don’t change and don’t believe the court records filed in Texas that have Laura has already filed for divorce.
It’s better to believe that everything the Bush Family says is true. One mistake on Barbara Walters show as she interviewed Barbara Bush the Family Values representative only to have George Senior come on camera to say he has a mistress but no one is to ask about that again. We never asked that question again.
Then live on a basketball championship game George W. Bush ask Tony Parker’s girlfriend if he could tell Terry Hatcher he wants to date her and here’s his number. I don’t think Daddy Bush realized it was live on TV as even the reporter was a little shocked.
Some inside truths about the Bush Family shouldn’t be reported the lies work well.
Kitty Kelley’s gives so much more inside background of this family that makes what I said small change.
September 23rd, 2007 at 8:30 pmTHIS is WONDERFUL news. This means that they will be kicked the Fukced out the door, along with the other lying, cheating, treasonous scumbags who support them.
If you REALLY think that way, then please tell us WHY there are numerous LONGTERM Congress people who see a different writing on the wall and will not even seek another term?
PUHLEEZE. These traitors would do ANYTHING to keep the sheeple thinking anything other than what is in front of their face.
WAKE UP PEOPLE. THESE PEOPLE HAVE STOLEN, LIED, AND SOLD THE COUNTRY DOWN THE TOILET.
THEY ARE TRAITORS
BUSH, CHENEY and ROVE ARRE TRAITORS!
BUSH, CHENEY and ROVE ARRE TRAITORS!
BUSH, CHENEY and ROVE ARRE TRAITORS!

ARREST, TRY, HANG!
September 23rd, 2007 at 9:35 pm“I think our candidate can beat her, but it’s going to be a tough race,†the president predicted in an Oval Office interview. “I will work to see to it that a Republican wins, and therefore don’t accept the premise that a Democrat will win. I truly think the Republicans will hold the White House.â€

Oh, please please please PLEASE let Dubya work for the Republican nominee! That would be as good for the Dems as if Nixon had worked to elect Ford in 1976.
