Paulose receives exceptionally poor job review.

The U.S. attorney in Minnesota, Rachel Paulose, is under federal investigation for using racist epithets against an employee, mishandling classified information, and retaliating against staffers. Today, the Washington Post reports that “an internal Justice Department audit completed last month said her employees gave her very low marks. … Her performance review was so poor that Kenneth E. Melson, head of the department’s Executive Office for U.S. Attorneys, took the unusual step of meeting with her in Minnesota several weeks ago.”

Did he bring along the cyanide pills?

  2. Badmoodman says:

Cyanide? Pfffft, no need for such drastic measures. Just set her up in a Minneapolis airport bathroom.

  3. Gregor Samsa says:

Yeah, she is not a competent US attorney, and probably will never be a competent lawyer, but she did stay at a Holiday Inn last night…

Not to mention, of course, that she is a crony.

  4. SWBob says:

Sounds like they are setting her up for a wonderful “Defender of America” medal award in the rose garden one of these days.

  5. Clyde the Ripper says:

According to King George the Dumb she is doing “a heckuva job.”

  6. Gregor Samsa says:

No matter what a crony’s job title is, their only actual job is to carry water for the Bush administration, and to bash its critics.

They hardly have any use for degrees, actual qualifications and/or skills beyond that.

Sounds like she’s got a great career in the GOP ahead of her.

  8. osage says:

So what. Based on GOP standards, she’s doin one heck of a job!

  9. DutchHenry says:

No surprise here folks:ineffectuality ,incompetence & blind loyalty defines Bush’s Admin. It will be years before all the muck 7damage to our country is removed if ever.

  10. VerbalKint says:

This is the Bush administration we are talking about here. She’s doing a great job. The more incompetent the better.

  11. marlow says:

Sounds just about right for a bushie.

Melson either went there as a BushCo thug to try to prop her up or maybe he dropped back into being for the People, and not for BushCo. In that case, he is toast.

  13. Doc Rock says:

She’ll be getting one of those Presidential Medals of Freedom any day now!

  14. Bobwurst says:

Yet, she still has a job. This should lay to rest the crap gonzo was putting out about how the reason for firing the gonzo 8 was work performance issues.

  15. grover nerdkissed says:

will she be another who fails upwards?

  16. Veritas says:

Another “anti american” Bushitco Poodle going down!

If her performance was so low then she would have been summoned to DC. Right? So, why does this Kenny boy fly off to MN to meet with her in light of her past failures.

This was private talk. Not a get in line or else, etc. This was a “we own you b%i!ch” meeting!! What do they have on so many people everywhere?

Would secret evesdropping have something to do with this sh!t?

  18. Above the Clouds says:

. . . but she’s a loyal “Bushie” and a friend of disgraced quitter AG Gonzalez so just you never mind if she is a shitty U.S. attorney. The GOP is leaving quite a legacy of shame, scandal, corruption, and incompetence. And the GOP think they are the ones to fix the mess they made.

If calling these people out for their inability to perform their duties was adequate means for the public to dismiss them from duty in order to bring in qualified personnel, we’d have a new government by now.

She’s no better than many of the other thousands of appointees that the Bush Administration has. Accountability is paramount and obviously is not being upheld by higher government staff. At times such as these, it is important to remember that our system of government was designed to be of the people, by the people, and for the people.

If enough people in the US actually cared about their government, they would choose to to reelect any Congressional members. Bring in all new people who have yet to sell their souls to corporations. Then press them to make their first priority be a bill that permanently blocks cronyism from positions filled by the Executive. Having qualified and respectable people fill these positions instead of “yes men” is the only way to bring about positive change in our current government system. Otherwise each President feels they can bring in their cronies and it’s okay. It’s not.

It comes down to all of us to change our elected members in congress. They obviously aren’t doing the job we told them to do.

At least she threw herself a nice quinceanera on our dime.

“I thought Presidents can no longer fire their U.S. Attorneys for any reason any more?”

There’s a difference between firing an attorney solely for political reasons and firing one for piss-poor performance.

I thought nobody with half a brain would go through all the trouble of registering only to post strawmen arguments.

But then, I’ve been wrong before…

  23. OxyCon says:

    Heckuva a job Paulosie!

  24. missmolly says:

Hmmm — let’s see. Patriot Act gives the president power to appoint “interim” U.S. Attorneys for INDEFINITE terms without Senate confirmation. Bush decides to exploit said Patriot Act to install bootlicking cronies wherever possible. Bush fires (or pressures into resignation) competent USA’s that HE originally appointed in order to make room for said cronies.

Paulose is a typical Bush crony appointee — hired as an unconfirmed “interim” to replace an outgoing qualified attorney. Is there any surprise that she’s a flaming incompetent?
