Alaska + Texas:

By Satyam Khanna on Sep 24th, 2007 at 2:58 pm

Alaska + Texas:

The area — half a million square miles — of ice melted in the Arctic “compared to its last record low just two years ago.” The current rate puts the region “on track for an ice free Arctic by 2030, decades ahead of the climate models.”

Yes, but did you see that awful ad that moveon.org put in the New York Times. That ’s the important thing in the world.

  2. RUCerious says:

I can just see the realtors drooling over the prospect of an entire sub continent opening up for vacation homes, etc.

  3. Veritas says:

But global warming doesn’t exist say the naysayers. While they’re still attempting to squelch the science, they’ll be holding their nose before drowing.

The problem with your thought is the naysayers will do anything BUT drown. They are part of the cabal who are getting rich of the middle and lower classes. Drown? They’ll be using our bodies as stepping-stones to safety.

  5. Nevar says:

Yes, and it will be the realtors from Texas and Florida who will be in on the ground floor, now that their states are on the seafloor.

  6. bob h says:

Its all a lie! the liberal media want you to believe theres new land on earth. We all know thats bunk…like that discredited theory of evolution. Sheesh , what will the ’science’ people think up next….tadpoles that grow into frogs!

Well think about it, if global warming scientists are so smart, why do they think Texas is in the arctic.

But what about the loss of Penguin habitat from the Arctic melting?

They (or it) can move in with you, squegeeboo, seeing as there might possibly be a penguin in the Arctic, it can share your bathtub.

  9. RUCerious says:

I’ll betcha those pesky penguins will make dandy pets!

  10. Nevar says:

… as long as they don’t keep me up with all that singing and dancing…

What if it’s a girl penguin?

    I shall call her Larry.

Ummm… we are all aware there are no penguins in the Northern Hemisphere, aren’t we? Auks, yes, penguins, no…

And no polar bears in the Southern…

Yah, that would be my fault. RUCerious mentioned something about a sub-continent, which as far as I know, doesn’t exist in the Arctic, so I saw a great way to divert the thread thru penguins, the most noble of mammals.

  15. raynman says:

    ah yes

    the mighty penquin

    noble conqueror of the antarctic

  16. Nevar says:

You had best take good care of your most noble pet mammal penguin, squegeeboo, or the walrusii shall come for thee.

  17. Nevar says:

King Oscar kipper snacks only, no Taiwanese sardines.

  18. RUCerious says:

If there aren’t any penguins in the Artic, then dammit, let’s import some. After all, the pet stores that are going to be located in the strip malls have to have something to sell!

Yes, but the chart is comparing August to August, and if you follow the link to what they are linking too, you’ll see they have an entire graph based off of Augusts, over the past 20 years.

But stupidity never changes at all. It’s immutable.

You must be thinking of the mighty platypus!

    Egg-laying mammal extraordinaire!

  24. Aesahaettr says:

Change the title, please. It isn’t Alaska + Texas, it’s closer to California + Texas. Alaska itself covers well over half a million square miles.

Doesn’t make it any less scary, though.

They’re MAN-imals. Cloned hybrids of bird and man, designed to catch fish, and attend proms. This is the real reason that bush is against stem cell research, and I for one, and proud.

  30. Ditch Mitch KY says:

This is a very scary set of maps, and we all know that the alarm bells are ringing around the globe Except at the Bush White House, of course.

Have you heard that Bush will not attend the UN meeting on climate change — what could he possibly learn after all? Instead he will stage a “climate meeting” this week to usurp the credible work done by the UN. Wanna bet what the US Media will cover?

We must that the images shown here and video coverage of Greenland’s major melt this summer will jar Americans to demand action. I talked to a young college student yesterday who thinks global warming is a hoax. He can’t see the ice melting, so it’s not. He believes the “ice will come back.” Sad.

It looks like the old girl is gonna rid herself of this god-forsaken parasite called man once again.
