Did I miss something, I haven’t found anything on TP about Saddam offering to LEAVE Iraq before the invasion for a $1B payoff and any info about WMD he may have had. Think about it people… Sure the whole WMD thing could have been negotiated out and think about how cheap that would have been.

No, Bush got a boner from the thought of using his military toys and now the Dems won’t even cut off the funding.

Growing a private army was the primary goal. There are more ‘contractors’ in Iraq than US soldiers; better paid and better equipped. The New World Order will require subservience to Halliburton enforced by Blackwater. Who will stop them after they’ve cleaned out the US treasury and shredded the armed forces?

As Bush told us early on, “Yer either with us, or against us”…

Does anybody else get the impression that nearly half of the Democratic congress critters have been victims of warrantless wiretapping? Have they had that dreaded late night visit from men in black? What else can expalin the recent votes? Why waste time on an ad in the NY Times, when the ad was true? How can this take priority over supporting the troops?

Don’t expect any help from the media on these issues. 90% of the media is owned by a small handful of billionaires, all of whom are “In The Club”. The Truth is not hard to find, too many of us just don’t look.

Bah..!! Toss them out and start over.

It was always apparent to me that Bush wasn’t waiting for a resolution, and if it was obvious to me then why couldn’t the US media see that? It’s about seeing what you want to see. But nevermind. What I can’t quite figure out is, what the actual rush was. I mean, you could practically see the beads of sweat on Bush’s forehead during that time…he was so hurried and even a little worried about not making it to Iraq by some kind of unseen deadline. Was a military window closing and if we didn’t get in there by a certain month we’d have to wait until next year? That’s what I used to assume, but I think it’s more than that. They REALLY REALLY needed to get in there, and the whole ball of yarn made the trip with Bush – the military, the corporations, the neocons, the ex-pats, all of it. The gravy train cranked up once we were in, and Bush had a vaccum hooked up to the US Treasury, money funneled everywhere, to everyone. Much of it unaccounted for. What was it…..did Bush need a slush fund and NEEDED that war for it? But who or what was the slush fund for? Was it something as simple as feeding the global corporations? Or something more specific? What was really going on.

Where was the iminent threat from Iraq??? WMD’s? Bush KNEW there were none and wouldn’t wait for the inspectors to confirm what his intel already told him. Can humanitarian violations that were going on for decades suddenly become more important than stopping al queda and capturing/killing Bin Laden? Why can’t you Reps comprehend that your Dear Leader intentionally took his eye off the ball to go after a personal vendeta with Hussein? What would you neocon nutjobs have to say if Clinton were in that position, chasing down Osama in Aphganistan and suddenly shifted gears and pulled a majority of our troops and intel people off the mission to go into Darfur (which by the way was a far worse humanitarian disaster than Iraq and all but completely ignored by your president). Bush, what a HUMANITARIAN. A real champion of democracy. This president of yours (I refuse to call him mine) has broken more human rights laws and done more to singlehandedly undermine the Constitution and civil liberties than anyone in the history of this Nation. If HIS acts aren’t the text book definitions of Terrorism and treason then the laws as written mean nothing.

Anybody else notice that whenever Bush wants to further milk one of his illegal/unpopular policies he demands patience(the surge comes directly to mind) over and over with his “wait and see” BS? But when he wants to bully and scare his opposition he puts forth the false notion that if we don’t act right now, the entire world will implode (invading Iraq w/out probable cause, FISA laws, the Patriot act, and now Iran). Don’t try to even question his haste, because Americans WILL DIE! Ironic how these “hurry-up and give me what I want” demands that he makes are practically always directly preceded by some “credible threat” to mankind that ALWAYS turns out to be pure political BS.

And, I would point out to you that some Democrats are traditional, new deal liberals. Some are concerned with the working class. That’s almost all John Edwards talks about these days. I think it’s a gross generalization to say that “all Democrats care about is power.” Of the two major parties, the Dems are traditionally the party that represents the working class. They are historically the party that supports unions. I agree that the party is dominated by centrists, though.
