It says on media matters that Limbaugh brought up Jesse MacBeth 1min 35 secs after he said phony soilders. I also was listening and I’m sorry to say but Limbaugh was taken out of context.

The thing that makes it truly awful is that you have democratic Congress men and woman plus senators bringing up mediamatters story like its the truth. It makes the Democratic party look like a bunch of idiots. The true idiots are the print and tv media that didn’t research the story and put it on the air. It gave the republicans a lot of ammo to fire at us. I truly think that mediamatters must have been taken over by republicans. It’s the only thing that makes sense. They tell one lie after another and they’re getting caught doing it. First O’Rielly now Limbaugh. We don’t need to lie to win.

If G.W. Bush is so tough why does he let Iran continue to blow up our soilders? Why did he let their piece of shit president come into the U.S. and walk away alive when he knows that Iran is killing our troops.

I’m just glad my buddy made it home alive.

You just have to take a trip to Rushland for the contorted explanation that Rush meant one specific soldier with his slur. BUT, unfortunately, for Rush and his posse of defenders, there is a transcript which proves that the one soldier they mention was NOT the subject of Rush’s nasty demeaning comments.

So, I’m sure they will try again with some other bogus excuse. Must be fun to worry more about covering Rush’s butt than worrying about the plight of our soldiers stuck in Iraq or the hassles they face when they come back to the US and tell the truth about Bush’s disastrous War.

He made those remarks about Jesse Macbeth, exclusively, not about any of the other persons that you mentioned – none of whom, I might add, have I ever heard of before.

His show is always the same: anyone who doesn’t agree with him is stupid, disloyal, dishonest or insane.

Occasionally, his points have some merit. But usually they are so couched in hate, paranoia or pig-headedness that they are in no way a starting point for a reasoned discourse.

There are enough real soldiers for Limbaugh to present, discuss, debate, and refute. His relentless denunciation of exposed fraud(s) to debase any and all anti-war efforts is much like the use of “Piltdown Man” to debunk evolution in that it is dishonest and irrelevant to the argument.

It was clear to me at the time that he was making a blanket assertion that the soldiers who did not support the war were deficient in some manner – loyalty, intelligence, sanity, etc. I understood his use of the term “phoney soldiers” to refer collectively and derogatively to those soldiers.

There may “lies about conservative commentators” that may “end up killing” Democrats, but this isn’t one of them.

I do usually vote Republican because I so despise the socialist thread that’s woven so firmly into your party. But I also despise “W” who, like many of the GOP politicians, is a big government, pseudo-conservative fraud.

If you have “judged” Fat Loser Limpballs as being “more honest than Keith Olbermann and others of that ilk” , you’ve just shown/proven to everyone that you don’t even have the sense that “God” gave the common dog ………..
You find a fat clown who railed for years about drug addicts being “criminals” until he himself was found out and nabbed as being one , as believable in any way ?
Or that same tub of crap who mocked a Parkinson’s sufferer and claimed that same individual was over-acting , because he was an actor by trade ?

It is obvious Rush was referring to any and all soldiers who criticise Bush’s “policy” in Iraq. Unless, of course, you are listening to Limbaugh’s edited version of the show -because it’s Media Matters who is being dishonest by saving the entire exchange.

Thanks robroy for copy and pasting the transcript for AFTER the exchange for which Rush should apologize and/or be reprimanded.

Now I understand.. It’s not only their words that you interpret, but with someone like Limbaugh, you interpret them in the light of the “inherent evil intent” of his persona. I guess that makes examining transcripts pointless.

Maybe because it was pretty obvious this is how he felt? Ironic you wingnuts would whine about how things ‘morph’, after you morphed Al Gore’s leadership in making the internet available to the public into “Al Gore said he invented the internet”. Those kind of ‘morphing’ smears are more your thing, than progressives. Maybe that’s why you’re so sensitive about them – guilt?

As for Rush’s statement – caller2 specifically said the real soldiers were those who were pro-iraq-war, meaning the phony soldiers were those opposed to the war. Rush didn’t reject this statement, and in fact acknowledged the statement positively. All of you Rush defenders should be ashamed of yourselves – hypocrites!
