Now that I have read ALL the posts here, I can turthfully say that Libs are the most hatefuilled vitriolic bunch on the planet.

It would appear that compared the lefties here, Bill O'Reilly is a sfot sell.

I was LMAO at the uproar on this one. The Dems are going nuts and from their comments it is obvious that none of them actually heard what Limbaugh said. I DID!

I am also a veteran with 22 years service and I applaud Limbaughs exposing the frauds.

The Libs in Congress once again stick their collective feet in their mouths and simultaneously shoot themselves in the foot at the same time.

For those who want to know the truth, Rush was speaking about a dishonored man named Jesse MacBeth who was kicked out of the Army iduring Basic traiing and later claimed to have been an Army Ranger and wounded in Iraq, and to have committed war crimes while there. MacBeth is not serving a 5 month prison term for his fraud.

MacBeth is a PHONY.

Limbaugh got it right.

And as I pointed out earlier, you left out other definitions of the word "betray":

- to be unfaithful in guarding, maintaining, or fulfilling.

- to deceive, misguide, or corrupt.

- To be false or disloyal to.

- To lead astray; deceive.

- Cause someone to believe an untruth.

See Ryan's post above for further information related to this definition.

As I also pointed out earlier, the goal of the surge was to provide increased security, specifically in Baghdad, to help get the violence under control so that the government could begin the act of reconciliation. This goal was not met; tell us how this results in the surge being a success.

Let me say it again. The success of the surge was based on two conditions being met: reduced violence, and government reconciliation. We were told to be patient through September. Fine. The government hasn't got its act together. The surge is a failure.

Finally, it has been pointed out that the situation in Al Anbar province was improving before the surge began. However, you want to give all the credit to the surge.

As well, your reference to what the general said during his confirmation hearing, BEFORE the surge began, in no way addresses the issues raised in the ad and thus shows how they are wrong.

The "formula" for counting deaths has been adjusted; certain causes of deaths are no longer counted. Why? Simple...its one and only purpose is to lower the death toll so that the surge appears to be working. "Hey, if we only label a death as an assassination if the victim is shot from behind, and if we stop counting deaths from a car bomb, we have a better chance at proving the surge is working." The general's words in his confirmation hearing do nothing to address this. Try again.

For that you accuse him of betrayal? Does that make sense?
Comment by CaptainMantastic — September 28, 2007 @ 7:19 pm

He was accused of intentionally misrepresenting facts. Then you have to face the reality that this has proven, so no he was not just 'accused' of betrayal, he was accused of being dishonest. And then moveon asked if that dishonesty constituted betrayal. You obviously don't see dishonesty as betrayal - so that explains the appeal of the GOP machine for you.

And despite repeated attempts to have someone who defends Rush and defends the condemnation of MoveOn to point out why the issues raised by MoveOn are wrong or incorrect, we are still waiting. How about it, Captain? Toliver had hours to respond but ignored my requests, and he seems to have run away.

While you are at it, how about pointing out the part(s) of the ad that specifically attack the honor and integrity of all members of the armed forces, and explain why they do. Obviously Cornyn felt that the ad did, or he wouldn't have included this in his amendment.

Rush is on the air 750 hours, live, every year. and he is so uncivil, you have to go back 2 and 3 years to find examples of his incivility.

Oh, I'd say that if any of us spent a couple of weeks listening to Rush each day, and could put up with his bullshit, we'd find lots of examples of uncivility.

Notice also that toe-lover never provided any evidence that the Fallon comment was wrong as he claimed...nor have they provided evidence that the MoveOn ad was wrong. They just blindly follow an AWOL frat-boy, a drug-addled draft-dodger with a taste for Viagra on an all-male fishing trip, and a Loudmouthed sexual harasser who likes loofahs and pays off his victims. Quite the list of 'heroes' for these losers.

I challenge anyone here to find a questionable insult by me. When you find it, let’s compare it to the garden variety (hanshiro) that’s so common here.

Waiting.

Why wait? You're a lying scumbag bush-suck. You dodge every direct question and ignore clear evidence that clearly busts you and your fat, drug-addled hero, then switch to OT crap like, "boo-hoo, he called me a name."

You don't even get a "nice try" captain douchetastic

But wait, you said he's a 'trained' radio figure. How could he perpetuate these kinds of smears? I purposely chose older examples to point up his long-standing habit of indulging in these types of comments. Figures you'd try to find any angle to back out of admitting he's a racist @sshole. You flip because of an AD, but an ONGOING PATTERN of abuse is just anecdotal? How...duplicitous of you...

Why you couldn't even admit to the INCIVILITY of these comments...

capt, you have time to acknowledge the first part of my post but not the second.

man up.

and your response to hanshiro tells me you support what Rush said there as well. It's also interesting you can jump to respond to him but ignore this:

Rush said “phony soldiers” plural, more than one. He isn’t backing down from that and has now escalated it again against a decorated war veteran (Murtha). He is slapping the face of every soldier by his statement. Without clarification he casts them all in the same lot.

Do you understand this?

Now can you be a person who is worthy of a debate on different viewpoints and respond?

I know most here disagree with my take on the limbaugh comment, but while we are censuring MoveOn.org and limbaugh, is anyone willing to admonish hanshiro for the lack of civility?

When you stop lying, ducking and changing the subject, I'll treat you with a measure of civility. You've clearly lost the debate and avoided answering direct questions. All you've left is to cry because I called you a douchebag? That's your fallback?

Speaking of civility, and I'll use your favorite fat drug addict to make the point:

On the August 23, 2005, broadcast of his radio show, Limbaugh said, "It's time for somebody to tell the people on the left, you're damn right we're questioning your patriotism."

On the September 17, 2004, edition of his radio show, Limbaugh said that half of 2004 Democratic presidential nominee Sen. John Kerry's (MA) base "hates the military, hates America, hates Bush, hates the world except for France and Germany."

LIMBAUGH: Hey, Barack Obama has picked up another endorsement: Halfrican American actress Halle Berry. "As a Halfrican American, I am honored to have Ms. Berry's support, as well as the support of other Halfrican Americans," Obama said.

He didn't say it, but -- anyway, there are those out there -- greetings.

Douchebag is as douchebag does.

Well, since Toliver has refused for several hours to point out, with any credibility, why the issues raised by the MoveOn ad are incorrect (other than "they smeared Petraeus, so the ad is wrong"...I did say credible, didn't I?), I'll state his position for one of the issues.

In measuring the number of deaths to prove or disprove the success of the surge, deaths are being broken down as "important" and "not important." The important ones are the deaths that result by shooting someone in the back of the head. The unimportant ones are the deaths caused by being shot in the front of the head.

The MoveOn ad points out that Petraeus left out the unimportant deaths, meaning fewer people are officially being killed, further meaning that the surge is working. In other words, the numbers are being skewed.

And why does Toliver support this? Because someone in his government tells him it's not important to count all deaths, and he agrees.

"So, then, doesn’t that disqualify your feigned outrage over Rush’s phony soldier comment?"

Ever heard of the term, false equivalence?

This is a good example.

Capt, do you think that if someone were to search the archives here that you wouldn't have a questionable insult, slur or abusive comment thrown in your face.

You are skirting the issue at hand. Rush said “phony soldiers” plural, more than one. He isn’t backing down from that and has now escalated it again against a decorated war veteran (Murtha). He is slapping the face of every soldier by his statement. Without clarification he casts them all in the same lot.

"I know most here disagree with my take on the limbaugh comment,"

Try "nearly all."

Your "take" was revealed to be nothing more than a partisan whitewash coupled with a wrong assertion: that Limbaugh was only referencing these few "phony soldiers" you mentioned, not all soldiers who don't agree with the mission. But Rush has himself throttled that poorly-constructed strawman, with his clear attack of Murtha.
