For those who want to know the truth, Rush was speaking about a dishonored man named Jesse MacBeth who was kicked out of the Army iduring Basic traiing and later claimed to have been an Army Ranger and wounded in Iraq, and to have committed war crimes while there. MacBeth is not serving a 5 month prison term for his fraud.

MacBeth is a PHONY.

Limbaugh got it right.

- To be false or disloyal to.

As I also pointed out earlier, the goal of the surge was to provide increased security, specifically in Baghdad, to help get the violence under control so that the government could begin the act of reconciliation. This goal was not met; tell us how this results in the surge being a success.

Let me say it again. The success of the surge was based on two conditions being met: reduced violence, and government reconciliation. We were told to be patient through September. Fine. The government hasn’t got its act together. The surge is a failure.

Finally, it has been pointed out that the situation in Al Anbar province was improving before the surge began. However, you want to give all the credit to the surge.

As well, your reference to what the general said during his confirmation hearing, BEFORE the surge began, in no way addresses the issues raised in the ad and thus shows how they are wrong.

The “formula” for counting deaths has been adjusted; certain causes of deaths are no longer counted. Why? Simple…its one and only purpose is to lower the death toll so that the surge appears to be working. “Hey, if we only label a death as an assassination if the victim is shot from behind, and if we stop counting deaths from a car bomb, we have a better chance at proving the surge is working.” The general’s words in his confirmation hearing do nothing to address this. Try again.

He was accused of intentionally misrepresenting facts. Then you have to face the reality that this has proven, so no he was not just ‘accused’ of betrayal, he was accused of being dishonest. And then moveon asked if that dishonesty constituted betrayal. You obviously don’t see dishonesty as betrayal – so that explains the appeal of the GOP machine for you.

While you are at it, how about pointing out the part(s) of the ad that specifically attack the honor and integrity of all members of the armed forces, and explain why they do. Obviously Cornyn felt that the ad did, or he wouldn’t have included this in his amendment.

In measuring the number of deaths to prove or disprove the success of the surge, deaths are being broken down as “important” and “not important.” The important ones are the deaths that result by shooting someone in the back of the head. The unimportant ones are the deaths caused by being shot in the front of the head.

The MoveOn ad points out that Petraeus left out the unimportant deaths, meaning fewer people are officially being killed, further meaning that the surge is working. In other words, the numbers are being skewed.

And why does Toliver support this? Because someone in his government tells him it’s not important to count all deaths, and he agrees.

Your “take” was revealed to be nothing more than a partisan whitewash coupled with a wrong assertion: that Limbaugh was only referencing these few “phony soldiers” you mentioned, not all soldiers who don’t agree with the mission. But Rush has himself throttled that poorly-constructed strawman, with his clear attack of Murtha.
