Who else can the Republicans get to carry their water, but imbeciles like this one and Viagra boy?
Where are the rational voices from the left that should be throwing the TRULY PHONY SOLDIERS back in their faces? Yes, I mean employees and owners of the BLACKWATER and other "security" companies currently operating without any real oversight in the Middle East? These MERCENARIES are not only killing innocent civilians, they are sucking money out of your wallets. These toxic temp agencies are POACHING MERCENARIES from the ranks of our military, and I would be willing to be that these greedy treasonous phonies vote Republican and support George Bush's illegal occupation of the second largest oil reserve on the planet.
The entities who profit from this and those that stand to profit from this criminal occupation should be funding this--namely Big Oil and the defense industry, not taxpayers.

Just so you know, not all liberals think alike. In fact, that is one characteristic that differentiates from conservatives. But I digress. For the record, and I'm sure others here feel the same way, I do not downplay, ignore or excuse the guilt of those who have wronged us (as a nation), for I believe that many of them are acting out of revenge, and I do not condone revenge acts. That their desire for revenge is real is what many of you conservatives, including your "hero" Ann Coulter, cannot accept. Many of you think our beef with Iran goes back to 1979, but you forget that we overthrew their democratically-elected government decades before. And theirs wasn't the first, nor the last, democratically-elected government which we have overthrown and replaced with dictators simpathetic to our nation's businesses. Many of you on the right, who simply adore free market capitalism, think that since this benefitted our country's businesses, it could only be good. But you ignore the cost of your policies in human life and suffering. And for a party that prides itself on its embrace for the "Culture of Life", your party's policies are responsible for a lot of deaths on this planet.

I'm proud to be Liberal. All you can be proud of is that you are against everything I believe in.

DaveCaveman,
Apology accepted. Everything I stated is true and it is important to obey if the command is lawful. I must say this with absolute conviction that every soldier must have a good understand of the reason they fight and die, the causes they fight and die for and the character of the ones who order them to fight and die. It might seem a difficult task but only if one doesn't see and recognize the requirements of being a citizen of the greatest country in the history of mankind. Unfortunately too many citizens avoid these responsibilities to sit in front of the TV to get the news or believe politicians who speak with forked tongue, or fail to vote or live as if they have no responsibility to their country except believing everything they hear.
Yes. I served in Viet Nam and trained in the battalion under Col Hal Moore, 1st Air Cavalry Division Airmobile. I missed the Ia Drang Battle by two weeks. I had many of my fellow soldiers die because another Colonel made poor judgments and walked another battalion into an ambush by a "dumb" enemy. I researched the causes and events that led America into the quagmire of Viet Nam and the facts would cause any thinking American to question the most politicians who send young or old Americans into battle without absolute honest and explainable, to every American the reasons why. Politicians had no clue as to what Ho Chi Minh wanted for Viet Nam. It wasn't "defense against the domino effect" as some politicians would have Americans believe. According to author of the Book 'Viet Nam, Americas Albatross' Archimedes Paddi, head of the Asian station of the OSS during WW II, all Ho wanted was a free Vietnam and the French out. The allies betrayed the Viet Minh, who did a great deal of the allies "dirty work" during the war in Asia, by giving back weapons to the Japanese, whom they had helped defeat, to control the Viet Minh, when the Viet Minh began to attack French soldiers and establishments in Viet Nam. The French were run out and the country was divided under very dishonest, disreputable and questionable methods. (Information from one of my graduate professors who was teaching in Viet Nam at the time of division.) BTW, Ho went to Harvard, pled with President Wilson to get the French out of Viet Nam and was ignored. He then went to his countries enemy, China and Russia because these countries were opposed to American interests. Why not, if America refused, go to some one who will. Also for your interest Ho was not a communist rather he was a socialist, There is a difference but Americans have been brainwashed into thinking otherwise. America has dealt for years with socialist countries as Denmark, Sweden, Finland, France, so what was the problem. Americans fell for the scam of the domino effect, horror of communism and became sucked into a war that could not be won due to diametrically opposed cultural differences.
Why did not American and Foreign corporations invest in Viet Nam as they do now. Perhaps it might have avoided 50,000 American deaths? Sure it is hindsight but too often American foreign policy is built on "what can they do for America" rather than how can we be helpful to make their economy flourish with all segments of that society reap the benefits rather then the upper rich.
As for this conflict I can also write a long dissertation about the failure of American politicians and leaders to recognize the nuances of influence that caused the events facing America in the Middle East. Much of it is due to politicians unwillingness to really know what were and are the underlying causes of unrest, poverty, anger, frustration and other basis for attacks against America.
They don't even read the bills they pass in congress and with their pockets filled with corporations money why would they want real change in how America deals with other countries.
I could end the Middle east conflict in two months, !st; call all leaders of all countries in the middle east into a conference. 2nd; Have an American with complete authority stand and tell them that within three months America will withdraw all troops and American support if they do not completely control all terrorists, develop a cooperative, honest and peaceful relationship diplomatically and any other way with each other country including Israel America will also stop buying any oil from the Middle East. If the oil companies complain, America will tell them they do not control America and it is controlled by the people. If they don't like it let them become dinosaurs as the stage coach. Require the auto companies to increase the vehicles gas mileage as high as possible or they can't sell cars or trucks in America. 3; Take all the billions spent in Iraq and place solar power on every home and business having at least 300 days of sunlight. Use every form of alternative power available.
You might laugh and say I'm a joke but I've placed 8.4 Kw hours of solar on my roof and I reduced my electrical consumption from $500.00+ per month to less than $200.00 and less in the winter when I don't have to use water for my small orchard and landscaping.
All this takes is politicians who believe that people are the power in America, not corporations, oil companies or any other entity or leader who doesn't have the American soldier or civilian as the number ONE reason they exist. As Ben Franklin, a founding father said, " A revolution now and then is good for a country." It's time America had one!!

Read # 71? Oh wait! Did you attend public schools? If so, maybe you should have someone read it to you.
Comment by Michael — October 2, 2007 @ 2:43 pm
I’m questioning public school education in general.
Comment by Michael

Given your lack of writing skills and inability to punctuate, most of us here question whether you had any education at all, Michael.
And to remind you for the umpteenth time, my public high school produced a Nobel Prize laureate, a former Secretary of State, a Newbery medalist, at least one Pulitzer Prize winner, etc. Pepperdine, the university in Malibu you claim to have attended, hasn't even produced one Nobel Prize winner. Every time you make another snip at public education, you only prove how paltry your store of arguments are.

You hate hearing the truth, huh?

Maybe you can tell us why Liberals have not been successful on talk radio?

You people just can't stand the power of Rush over the airwaves. Ain't it grand!

And how many SUCCESSFUL Left wing radio hosts are out there? I'll even give you a hint as to why the Left are NOT successful.......

Because America does not want to hear 'I hate America' day after day! And for a bonus, I'll throw in the fact that the Left stands against everything that made this country great!

You guys have drifted so far left, your beliefs make JFK look like an extreme right-winger.

Rush forgets so quickly that he avoided Viet Nam because a pilonidal cyst, Definition for those who dont have a medical dictionary:
A pilonidal cyst is a cyst at the bottom of the tail bone (coccyx) that can become infected and filled with pus. Once infected, the technical term is pilonidal abscess. Pilonidal abscesses look like a large pimple at the bottom of the tail bone, just above the crack of the buttocks. It is more common in men than in women. It usually happens in young people up into the fourth decade of life.

Rush probably spent too much time sitting on his b%$t instead of exercising his mind to understand the real issues of life instead of the delusional arena.

After re-reading your post with a cooler head, I see that I may have been overly harsh. I see that you were not necessarily referring to actions on the battlefield.

Sorry for the quick reaction!
