GAO: FCC leaks tips to business interests.

A new GAO report “accuses the Federal Communications Commission of leaking tips to business interests before they’re made public” and that “the FCC has informed phone and cable lobbyists about items coming up for a vote in Congress.” The FCC is “closely intertwined with industry lobbyists — almost as close as the White House and members of the House of Representatives. In fact, FCC Chairman Kevin Martin used to be one.”

Everyone in this country is bought and paid for… What in the hell happened to ethics?

No doubt left at all that corporate rule is well on it’s way to replacing national and cultural identities in the world.
Corporate city states will emerge in strategic locations, with each one controlling a particular resource, whether it be oil, water, minerals, food, or labor forces.
They will control what the masses eat, listen to, and see.
They will have their own private armies, their own weapons, and their own brutal CEO’s and Board of Dictators.

This is not surprising, but certainly topical in regard to Limpballs.

The FCC & Clear Channel are joined at the hip. The collusion described above is far more widespread than most realize, encompassing much of the Federal Govt & extending to the stock market.

Insider information keeps Corporate America drooling, knowing higher profits can be gained and getting an unfair advantage in buying or selling stocks.

The NYSE is based upon speculation. Speculation allows long & short term buyers to make money without ever being involved in the production, transporting, marketing or selling of a product. Why do we use a speculative market as a standard for well being?

But, I digress. Is Colin Powell’s Son still head of the FCC? Let’s hope the current Rush stink also leads to an examination of the FCC. Just like the FDA, speculators and self interest are charting our country’s future.

There are indeed a number of individuals and corporations with enough money to hire Blackwater. And as the president of the company told Congress this week, if the US government doesn’t want us to do security in Iraq we will just do something else.

Shouldn’t “a public-trust tipping off lobbiests to give them a headstart on influencing pending legislation” be a crime?

    How depressing.

Such was not my intent to depress, however this is a common vision and a logical end product of human occupancy on the planet.
Evidence Dick Cheney, for a glaring example of a ruthless drive to garner power, control, and security for himself, and the figures behind the curtain whom he is a vassal for.
They care not for culture, national identity or the spiritual aspect of human consciousness.
His is the eons old rule of the strong survive, and the weak perish.

Information leaked to business interests prior to being released publicly is illegal, if these business interests use this information to buy and sell stock. Has anyone explored the insider trading angle to this?

Screw the people, they have no voice!, is their mantra.

Hopefully, Grandma Millie will one day thrash these people with her umbrella. Heck, I’d just settle for Jeebus drop-kicking the lot of them into that there Lake of Fire that they seem convinced the REST of us are going to.

#3…Michael Powell resigned to “spend more time with his family”. He now has a position with College of William and Mary, the RAND Corporation and sits on the board at CISCO. His gravy train is gold-plated.

Isn’t that almost by definition “insider trading”? I’m sure that if you hold it up to the light a certain way, you could decide that it isn’t but, ethically and morally, it sure looks that way.

Ethics went out the window when you have a conservative culture that glorifies money over everything else. Anything that inhibits maximizing profits is “socialist”. Add the cult of money to the political attitude that the end justifies the means and you have Bushville.

And this is surprising how ! Dan Rather’s lawsuit says CBS had issues pending before FCC when they fired him. Hmmmmm

Fascism: a system of government characterized by rigid one-party dictatorship, forcible suppression of opposition, private economic enterprise under centralized governmental control, belligerent nationalism, racism, and militarism.

Call it what it is. That’s what we are, in reality, living under in this country.

  16. Frosty Cupcake says:

The FCC was co-opted years ago by corporate interests. That’s exactly what it serves.
