This is instructive–Exhibit A of why people are fleeing the Republican Party in droves. Godfather2 and other Republican 28%-dead-enders cannot tell the difference between patriotic Americans who disagree with them and “Al Queaeda sympathizers.” They have no idea, for instance, that Al Qaeda and the Republican Party are both right-wing organizations that desperately need each other for survival. They believe that liberals approve of terrorism. With each passing day, their outrageous rhetoric alienates more Americans who want the war in Iraq to end. I think rhetoric like this probably helps Democrats in the short term, but it is ultimately bad for the country.

Since you were probably home schooled by religious fanatics, I can see why you wouldn’t be aware of this, but Americans don’t “bow down.” 230 years ago, I’m sure the royalists were saying “bow down in wonder at the glory that is King George II, you insignificant colonists.”

I can see why your translator is having problems with Godfather2’s post — this post DOES defy logic. But here’s what my translator comes up with:

Rush is God.
Liberals are bad.
You are stupid.
I can’t rebut any of your actual criticism of Rush, so I will make a meaningless and vague accusation concerning your arguments.
Vietnam war protesters were bad, but they were better than you.
Bill Clinton is bad.

The only military the American people hate are the military who have been complicit with Bush in the travesty that is Iraq. I’m fairly sure that the 70% of Americans who want us out of Iraq are not particularly fond of any of the top brass that got us there and kept us there.

I so agree. My dream method for choosing a President and Vice President would be to run the top 10 candidates who get the most signatures on a petition (requiring petition workers to be volunteer only) between a certain start date and a certain end date. Then hold a general primary and everyone can vote for two candidates. After that, take the top four candidates and have them run in a final election, the top vote getter becoming President and the second high vote getter being Vice President.

Wouldn’t that be novel? It would give us the chance to vote for whom we want to without regard to their political party affiliation. Just find the two in the primary who mostly are aligned with your beliefs and then do the same thing in the final vote.

Well, the religious right is looking for a candidate and Pace would suit their needs quite nicely. He would also be very easy to beat considering how effective he was in Iraq.

Why in the world would anyone “get behind” General Pace, other than to smack him on the back of the head for his repeated lies in support of a failed war policy?

Supporting the troops, for me, means opposing people like Pace and the other Republican lunatics who sent them into an illegal and immoral war.
