Gates v. Cheney on Iran?

Gates v. Cheney on Iran?

Defense Secretary Robert Gates is reportedly the administration’s “chief opponent of air strikes and is the main reason President George W.Bush has yet to resort to military action.” The UK Telegraph reports: “Pentagon sources say Mr Gates is waging a subtle campaign to undermine the Cheney camp by encouraging the army’s senior officers to speak frankly about the overstretch of forces, and the difficulty of fighting another war.”

let Bush and Cheney destroy each other on this one. The deserter vs the the 5 deferment draft-dodger.

I wonder which one the swift-boaters go after?

  2. Doofus says:

How about having the Generals just say how f@cking insane it’d be to start another non-essential war with a country in the M.E.? “Overstretch”? That’s not getting airplay. I wanna hear “Cheney’s a madman. We aint dropping bombs, period.”

I vote for Cheney, either he shoots Gates in the face or he gets his SS Korps, Blackwater, to “detain” him in an undisclosed location in Eastern Europe.

How is it that our government is so bat $hit insane that there’s only *one guy* successfully fighting our starting another fruitless war that we have no resources to fight?

    How is that possible?

Would a bunker buster penetrate Cheney’s bunker? If so, think how many innocent lives such a strike would save. Not to mention saving what’s left of our national treasury.

  9. Veritas says:

Piss soaked thread thanks to RogerRabbit! Let’s pop some popcorn for the Cheney vs. Gates duel, shall we? I’d like to believe that Gates has more intelligence and certainly more expertise than a 5 deferrment draft dodger and an AWOL druggie reservist. Besides, he probably doesn’t have as much invested in the military war machine as the Bush Crime Family and the Deadeye Dick Group has at this point. But then they say that money talks and bull$hit walks so this should be a juicy duel. En garde!

  10. Veritas says:

RemoveBush: Sadly, these twisted trolls and fascist neocons don’t have a clue. None of them have ever seen combat or even served for that matter. To them, it’s all a cyber game where the identities of our fallen soldiers is like pure fiction to them.

What will they think when we find ourselves out there twisting in the wind? What will they think when they realize that the “Great Uniter” has, in fact, united the entire rest of the world against the US? Unfortunately, it will be too late for us by then.

The Brits know it’s coming and are cutting bait and running….before the onslaught.

  11. TripMaster Monkey says:

Guys, why do you even respond to Roger_Rhetoric? He’s strictly a drive-by troll nowadays…never sticks around to try to defend his demented assertions, so there’s little point in refuting them (unless you’re just using him as practice…)

  12. Veritas says:

Anyone hear other leaks about the war crimes tribunal being set for Chimpy and Deadeye Dick? The Red Cross recently leaked info about the “gathering storm” surrounding Bush and The Dick which is precisely why they’re scrambling to obtain de facto exoneration for all of the international and domestic laws they’ve all broken. I can hear the beat of the drum now….ta-dum….and it’s not a drumbeat to attack Iran. It’s the final chapter in the Bush/Cheney Crime Show.

  13. Veritas says:

You’re right TMM! These inocuous malodorous necrotic asshats do not deserve a direct response. The propaganda has been inculcated for so long that they can’t possibly formulate an authentic or original opinion without their lockstep talking points…which are becoming more scarce as the countdown to prison begins for these thugs.

Actually, the main reason that Iran has not yet been bombed is because the US, France and Britain compromised with Russia, China, and Germany. They agreed to wait until the IAEA report comes out in Nov. before they start the bombing.
    Comment by Princeps

Oh boy, we have a new Right Wing Loon. And this one thinks that Russia, China and Germany are going to allow us to bomb Iran (otherwise why would there be a need for a compromise). Sorry Princeps, if we bomb Iran, we are going to be in MAJOR trouble with Russia, China and Germany.

I don’t need the government’s help in understanding the IAEA report…in fact, judging from their previous conduct regarding previous reports, I’d say they need my help.

    Comment by VerbalKint — October 8, 2007 @ 3:34 pm
yep, that is always an option. Undoubtably these greed driven zealots will continue to bank on the loud parroting from the likes of our little resident troll puppet Princess, or whatever name he is going by these days, to try to make it look like there is still an percentage of american civilians that want this action taken. But in the end, the truth will come out as to the pure evil greed that is at the heart of this administration.

and on that day we can ship the gallows over from Iraq that did such a lovely job on Saddam for a sizing here.

  43. willyloman says:

Oh, don’t I hope and pray! I have my pom pom’s all fluffed up for their trial at the Hague. I am definitely taking vacation to go to that and cheer for the hanging of these war criminals!

This is one of the saddest times in American history. I only hope we can find our way home (as it were). I hope we can turn back to democracy and away from the fascist state we are rapidly becoming.

I went to a falcon (bird) show over the weekend (I am working in Germany this week) and one of the birds they had flying around was an American bald eagle. I literally cried for my country when it was doing its thing (swooping, divebombing – soooo cool!)….Proud of what it once stood for, yet ashamed for what it is now.

God help my country! No one else seems to be doing much these days!

Cheney and his company Haliburton has oil businesses with Iran since 2005. Now you know Cheney isn’t going to let his profit shares go up in smoke by attacking the country he does business with. So go ahead and believe the smoke and mirrors told by the US Media to cover up the real story about how Iran
is working with other countries and Germany about selling oil. Gates and Petraeus are fronts for what’s really going on. Fox News is doing it’s part too. Let’s see just how much Americans really know.

The Secret Service shot at the Iran President’s car while he was visiting the US oh they said it was a mistake ( right)
Iran-IAEA to Resume Talks on Tuesday. This reported by the foreign press.

Now you know the White House will tell the Media to make fake headlines and report about Britney rather then allow the Americans to know what’s really going on.

It is possible to use the term “essentally” without “asserting the existence of essences” in the context you are attempting to shoehorn him into.

This has got to be one of the most obvious, blatant, and clumsy attempts to derail a thread I have ever seen. It’s just plain laughable.

Here’s an idea…why don’t w return to a question VerbalKint asked you earlier:

And just why will the report need “processing” for us to “understand” it?

VK excused you from answering the question, as he had had all the idiocy he could take, but I can take a few more hits for the team.

Let’s hear an answer, Princess. What exactly would this “processing” entail?

“Tom Dowd and the Language of Music” If you haven’t seen it yet, it is TOTALLY worth finding. Tom Dowd was probably the best recording engineer of the 20th century and one of the people who made Atlantic Records so successful back in the fifties all the way to thru the eighties.

Anyways… I mention this because Tom Dowd was drafted at the end of WW II, and due to his brilliance in physics, was assigned to the Manhattan Project. He was one of the official Army observers at Bikini Atoll and witnessed the first underground atomic bomb test.

This doc has the BEST “atomic bomb going off” footage you will ever see in your entire life. It is HORRIFYING. You CANNOT imagine how big one of those blasts is from still photos.

Get this doc and look at it. If you STILL want to drop nukes after this, yer sick beyond words.

Oh, I see. Only “proper experts” can interpret the bible. I bet a whole bunch of religious scholars would be surprised to hear that. The Bible is not a fact filled document. It contradicts itself constantly. But the major precepts of the Bible and Christianity it totally removed from what these people represent (”these people” meaning the Bush Crime Family and all the Right Wing Loons who support them). Every time I see a car with a WWJS sticker on it, I want to ask them, “do you really think that Jesus would approve of what we are doing in Iraq” or “Do you really think that Jesus would think that torture was a good thing?” and finally, “do you really think that Jesus would want to see millions of children without health care or enough food to eat”?
