He did in fact betray all of us and the soldiers in the field with his numbers. He thought the surge would work, and made his numbers show the surge was working. All we got for it is at least the SAME number of troops as were there before the surge at least until Jan , 2009 and probably longer. We did not get any recipe or hope for a viable Iraqi economy or government....thus no end in sight. Yes, it was shown at the time of his testimony that Patraeus cooked his statistics.
