Yesterday on his CNN Headline News show, Glenn Beck stated, “War with Iran is no longer a question of ‘if,’ I believe it’s a question of ‘when.’” He pointed to the tv show Law and Order as evidence:
Iran has long been the puppet master in the Middle East. You don’t have to take my word for it. Just watch any episode of Law & Order. Use the thinking, you know, that helps them solve all the tough cases. Iran has the means, the motive, and the opportunity to try and destroy our American way of life by controlling the Middle East.

Oh Glenn how about The Roadrunner, or Bugs Bunny, or maybe Spunge Bob. You’re an idiot.

October 9th, 2007 at 3:23 pmAnd the Bush administration is a disaster. Just ask Alan Shore on Boston Legal.
October 9th, 2007 at 3:25 pmSo is Beck suggesting that the Bush administration always works from a prepared script, just like a TV show?
Priceless.

stop embarrassing yourself
October 9th, 2007 at 3:28 pmWe should watch Red Dawn a few times, then the first season of 24. Both of those will show us the path America needs to take. Why bother with reality, when you can watch movies and TV?

October 9th, 2007 at 3:28 pmIran has the means, the motive, and the opportunity to try and destroy our American way of life by controlling the Middle East.
so does china and russia…want to attack them big boy?
October 9th, 2007 at 3:28 pm“Iran has the means, the motive, and the opportunity to try and destroy our American way of life by controlling the Middle East.”
As opposed to America trying to maintain it’s (unsustainable) way of life by destroying and controlling the Middle East.

You know, now that you mention him, I haven’t seen him driving around in that rented red Chevy pickup truck trying to convince Americans that he is just a good ol’ country boy.
October 9th, 2007 at 3:29 pmOh, man. Another nimrod who left his brain in the closet. How embarrassing. Next thing you know Thompson’s running mate as VP will be McCoy. LOL!

October 9th, 2007 at 3:30 pmGlenn Beck. You have been proven to be a rusty, rusty tool. Case closed.
October 9th, 2007 at 3:34 pmFred Thompson is already tanking in his run. I don’t think he will last much longer.
October 9th, 2007 at 3:34 pmJust more proof that these nimrods don’t live in a reality based world. In other news I have it on good authority that the Romulans are massing on the border.
October 9th, 2007 at 3:36 pmdamn Hollywood Conservatives!
October 9th, 2007 at 3:38 pmIn it’s early days CNN’s nickname in the industry was Chicken Noodle Network. Seems appropriate today, too.

October 9th, 2007 at 3:38 pmDon’t we all base our reality on what we watch on TV?
I personally try to follow the lifestyle as demonstrated by Mythbusters… that’s why I’m a progressive….
October 9th, 2007 at 3:38 pmRory has to wait until the second post to go off topic. Report her for abuse.
But really Rory, couldn’t you wait until his first debate tonight before you wax prophetic.
October 9th, 2007 at 3:39 pmWe could always ask Dan Quayle what Murphey Brown would do.
October 9th, 2007 at 3:39 pmGlenn Beck is the stupidest man on cable news!
His low-rated show is going to be the second cancellation this fall. Tucker Carlson will be the first:
Are Tucker Carlson’s Days Numbered?
October 9th, 2007 at 3:40 pmWill someone tell Mr. Beck that Law & Order is a fictional TV show. Nothing they say or do has to have any connection to reality if they don’t want it to. Same with the right’s other favorite fictional TV show, “24″. It amazes me that these guys think that TV shows should detemine our foreign policy. (And I thought they hated everything that came out of Hollywood.)
October 9th, 2007 at 3:40 pmW has been pickin fights since “Lassie Come Home” made him cry as a child. How about that for today’s headline Beck?

I hope you’re right. Yesterday Olberman was hyping David Schuster substituting for him. I wish they’d replace Tucker with him because I have to change the channel whenever this idiot shows up.
October 9th, 2007 at 3:44 pmWhat say we all chip in and buy Glenn Beck a brain?

Well, sure! Perry Mason and Ben Matlock are quoted every day in courtrooms all across America!
October 9th, 2007 at 3:49 pmLibs, please listen to John Hagee’s sermon regarding the end time. After listening to his sermon, you should have an understanding of what is currently going on.
Comment by Daryll
Im not about to listen to a man that uses GOD and Jesus as an excuse to start wars so he can be saved by watching others suffer. If and when the end-times occurs it will not be because of mans wars, it will be because mankind has lost its virtue.
You misunderstand Daryll, Haggee should NOT be taking part in mans loss of virtue nor should you be taking part in it. Mankind can do enough stupid things without invoking the name of GOD.
October 9th, 2007 at 3:51 pmlisten to John Hagee’s sermon
Comment by Daryll — October 9, 2007 @ 3:47 pm
Would a Hagee be on the receiving end of a Haggard?
October 9th, 2007 at 3:51 pmIran would get blasted off the face of the Earth if they so much as fired off one nuclear bomb.
I heard this same end-times crap during the cold war. Guess what? No armageddon, no nuclear war, no nuclear winter, nothing.
October 9th, 2007 at 3:53 pmDaryll, is Armageddon a good or bad thing?
October 9th, 2007 at 3:55 pmFred Thompson is already tanking in his run. I don’t think he will last much longer.
Comment by Krazny — October 9, 2007 @ 3:34 pm
I fear that Fred is today’s Ross Perot with an opposite twist.
Ross got in at the beginning of the campaign in ‘92 and dropped out when he discovered that he might actually win.
OTOH, Fred waits until the last minute, relatively speaking, and has no chance of winning. Had he truly been interested in getting elected and making a difference in America, he would have been in it from the start.
Either way, both Fred and Ross are getting plenty of attention, and they both love/loved it.
October 9th, 2007 at 3:55 pmThis is just pure crazy, and it boggles the mind that Beck doesn’t see it. Our “way of life” is untenable in the long run. It will die with or without the cooperation of Iran or anyone else in the Middle East. Meanwhile, Congress and the president (and presidential candidates) haggle about what the minimum mileage should be by the year 2023. I think they’re all nuts.
October 9th, 2007 at 3:56 pmYou know what? I say let them bomb Iran. Go nuts. I think it will be last thing the Republican Party does for a very long time. Then we can be rid of them for good.
October 9th, 2007 at 4:04 pmLibs, please listen to John Hagee’s sermon regarding the end time. After listening to his sermon, you should have an understanding of what is currently going on.
Comment by Daryll — October 9, 2007 @ 3:47 pm
D, I hate to burst your bubble, but neither you, nor Hagee, nor any other so-called preacher on this Earth can predict when the end of time will arrive. If you’ve got a date and time, I’d like to hear it. Shoot, if you can predict it within a month’s time, I’d be impressed.
In addition to what Xisithrus said, I also heard all of the end-of-time rantings leading up to the new millineum. Yet 7 years later, we are all still here.
October 9th, 2007 at 4:06 pmGee whiz, Mr. Beck, I watched a lot of Bugs Bunny growing up and I thought all we had to do is stick our finger in the end of the gun barrel and when Elmer Fudd shoots it, it blows up in his face. Can’t we just do something like that with Iran? I mean it’s been on TV for A LOT LONGER than that Law and Order show. ‘Course, I guess Bugs isn’t running for President so you might not want to reference his work.
October 9th, 2007 at 4:08 pm… and the evidence that Jack on the TV show ‘24” was able to get using internationally outlawed questioning techniques proves Iran has weapons of mass destruction and is an imminent threat to all Americans.
October 9th, 2007 at 4:16 pmBeck is really loosing it.
yes… think about simplistic TV logic!
Don’t look at REAL FACTS…. nooooo.
Think about TV, and PRETEND that this real life issue can be solved by TV shows.
Glenn Beck is an idiot.
October 9th, 2007 at 4:18 pmDavid Petraeus is at it again. he is now echoing more White House talking points this time about the Iranian envoy to Iraq. Also, the CFR connection to his testimony to congress.
Read article here:

How long will we continue to permit this culture of lies that has erroded our leadership?

Right here Daryll shows that the real danger to the US and the American way of life is not Islamic fundamentalists but Christian fundamentalists. While they are both equally delusional, Christian fundies are positioned better to do us more harm.
October 9th, 2007 at 4:27 pmHey Rory, how about staying ON TOPIC?
October 9th, 2007 at 4:34 pmThen we can be rid of them for good.
Comment by lefty — October 9, 2007 @ 4:04 pm
I understand yer sentiments, but ya really, really don’t want this.
‘Cause it’d most likely be the prelude ta WW III.
October 9th, 2007 at 5:09 pmI thought Rush Limbaugh was the one on drugs. Apparently he’s got nothing on Glenn Beck.
Beck’s reasoning is that because Iran has means, motive, and opportunity, they are guilty. Before they’ve even done anything. Therefore, we must destroy them.
Of course, we have the means, motive, and opportunity to destroy Iraq. Or, for that matter, just about any country in the Middle East. Did Beck explain how we differ from Iran?
October 9th, 2007 at 5:41 pmBad television as a case for war…jesus…
October 9th, 2007 at 5:46 pmdaryll, Jesus himself said that no man will know the hour of His coming–not even Him. All this cobbling together of Daniel and revelation and trying to patch together clues is something the Son of God explicitly told his followers not to do.
October 9th, 2007 at 5:56 pmWhen the disciples asked Him this, he changed the subject, and reminded them of the service they had to perform on earth.
Anybody indulging themselves in this stuff is putting their own will before the instructions of Jesus Christ.
and on topic:
October 9th, 2007 at 6:13 pmAlmost always on Law and Order, there is a crime first.
In Dick Wolf’s world, means, motive and opportunity are way, way, way behind the existence of a crime.
Glen, if Iran has the means–do they? Is the means the combination of their atom bomb and the tardis they’re going to steal from Galifrey, or is it those eeeevil super terrorists that Republicans can’t catch?–the motive, and the opportunity–why, it’s perfect! Nobody’s paying any attention to them at all!–and they have not committed the crime, then hmmm, maybe–just maybe, they’re not guilty–of whatever.
But you like the Red Queen’s trial–sentence first, trial afterwards. Or maybe you’re a big fan of the Law and Order spinoff where everybody wears goatees and sidearms, and all the women dress really hot–and they run around throwing dissidents into big cars in the middle of the night and administer self-criticism sessions?
THAT Law and Order?
Gotta love the mentality of Glen Beckerhead. He done saw things on his TeeVee and then extrapolates the law and logic and reasoning of some absolute bullshit program to the real world.
October 9th, 2007 at 8:45 pmHis attention span is all of two seconds long, his retention of reality is even less.
Does this assclown (Beck) ever say anything that makes sense?
October 9th, 2007 at 9:54 pmGlen Beck is an idiot.
There is no other way to put it.
October 9th, 2007 at 11:11 pmLMAO!!!!!
Keep the humor flowing, idiot…
October 9th, 2007 at 11:30 pmIran has the means, the motive, and the opportunity to try and destroy our American way of life by controlling the Middle East.
I love these peoples indirect honesty. the american way of life is inextricably linked to the middle east.
so its either US sanctioned violence or iranian sanctioned violence. take your pick america !
October 10th, 2007 at 9:02 amI laugh every time I see the CNN ad for Beck’s show where he states he’s a ‘thinker’. That’s funny (and pathetic).
Next thing you know some politician will be asking for applause when none is provided..
