Vice President Cheney, “[o]nce popular enough to charge donors $4,200 for a handshake and a photo,” has become a much less sought-after fundraiser for congressional Republicans, reports the Washington Post. “Almost 10 months into the year, Cheney has headlined one fundraiser for an incumbent House Republican, Rep. Sam Graves (MO),” whereas in 2005, Cheney headlined fundraisers for 10 conservative incumbents. Cheney had a 34 percent approval rating in July.
But Darth will be their go to guy when they are all in prison together.
October 11th, 2007 at 10:14 amIt makes sense that Repubs looking to get re-elected would treat Cheney like toxic waste. What’s puzzling is that they still vote in lockstep with what he wants.
October 11th, 2007 at 10:17 am34% approval? Seriously? I mean shit, are there really that many Americans who are that stupid?
October 11th, 2007 at 10:18 amIn today’s soundbyte society, its that quick visual image of the candidate shaking hands with Cheney that resonates with the voter. The actual thought of researching the voting record of the candidate you choose to elect is abhorrant.
Or so the government intelligentsia would have us believe….

No, but there at least that many who have bought into Cheney’s fear mongering.
October 11th, 2007 at 10:23 amGiven that his approval rating was only 18% a few months ago, we can assume that his latest machinations blaming Iran for all his failures in Iraq is the reason for his numbers to go up.
“[o]nce popular enough to charge donors $4,200 for a handshake and a photo,â€
it was a secret handshake and the photo had Cheney digitally erased.
October 11th, 2007 at 10:32 amOf course D. Cheney thought with inflation, his handshake & photo will be worth more than $4,200.
October 11th, 2007 at 10:34 amThe only photos of Cheney I’m interested in seeing is one from the front, and one in profile.
October 11th, 2007 at 10:35 amAnd he doesn’t need to autograph them, the fingerprints will do.
Cheney to Bush:”If your approval rating jumps few points up, I could be charging $5000 for handshake alone”.
October 11th, 2007 at 10:36 amCheney is radioactive.
October 11th, 2007 at 10:38 amFinally seeing nosferatu for what he is, a vampire that relishes spilling blood.

Yep, Lynne was actually good spirited and, while JS asked some probing questions, he was respectful, noting she was the VP and couldn’t answer for him.
October 11th, 2007 at 11:13 amCheney is a bloody inhuman monster.
October 11th, 2007 at 11:43 amin the dictionary, under evil; it says- see Dick Cheney.
October 11th, 2007 at 11:43 amCheney had a 3.4 percent approval rating in July.

October 11th, 2007 at 11:55 amI have a crazy-ass conspiracy theory, and this is just as good a thread as any to put it out there. What if this is what Bush and Cheney have in mind? On Jan 18, 2009 (assuming the Congress hasn’t come to its senses and impeached, convicted and removed these criminals by then), Bush issues Cheney a full pardon for anything he might have done wrong (just as Ford did for Nixon) and then immediately resigns. Cheney then gets sworn in and immediately issues the same full pardon to Bush. Now both of them get away scot free. What do you think: Too crazy to be true? Or just crazy enough that it might be true?
October 11th, 2007 at 12:27 pmWe’ve known for a long time that Darth is TOXIC.
The repukes are just finding out now?
