Global warming causes weather patterns to fall out of balance, therefore causing bigger changes in temperatures all over the place.

Warm air doesn’t circulate as it did, and doesn’t warm cold areas anymore: ergo, colder winters. Cold air doesn’t circulate as well, and therefore isn’t cooling hot areas anymore: ergo, warmer summers.

I had just watched a Naked Science show that featured the loss of ice shelves Larsen A and B… and explored the degradation of ice elsewhere in Antarctica. Not trusting just one source, I then searched the internet.

It seems that if the south pole ice gets thicker that too is because of global warming… more snow.
At any rate science is still collating on the subject. It’s interesting reading.

I respectfully disagree. Bilbobaggins in criticizing Juan C’s post said essentially that there is no evidence that Gore supported the UN sanctiona against Iraq during his tenure as Vice-President.

As we see from the transcript of the 2000 presidential debate, as well as the CNN.com outline of the 2000 presidential candidates’ positions, Al Gore did indeed support the UN sanctions.

Thus, Juan was correct. BilboBaggins was in error.
