Bush asks GOP debate host whether she was at the debate.
In an interview with President Bush yesterday, CNBC’s Maria Bartiromo asked the President what he thought of Tuesday’s Republican presidential debate:
BARTIROMO: Did you see the Republican candidate debate? What did you think? Who came out a winner?
BUSH: Were you there?
BARTIROMO: Yes, I was. I was the co-host.
BUSH: You were trying to hoax me into saying you had brilliant questions.
BARTIROMO: No, that’s not what I’m looking for Mr. President.
BUSH: I didn’t watch. I didn’t watch.

The GOP candidates also ignored the President that night. Rudy Giuliani, Mitt Romney, John McCain, Fred Thompson, Mike Huckabee, and Duncan Hunter never uttered Bush’s name during the two-hour debate.

She asked Bush’s opinion of the candidates’ performances, and asking a Republican president what he thinks about the debate performance of Republican presidential candidates is a perfectly legitimate interview question.
Sadly, nobody needs to “hoax” the president or play “gotcha” with him, because he does such a great job of looking like an idiot all on his own.

You guys get me. You actually took him seriously??? Even if it was lame, it was an obvious attempt at a joke.
Then what does that IQ say about Kerry’s? Bush at least graduated with an Harvard MBA, Kerry flunked out. And don’t tell me he bought it – it was from a school that has seen the rich and powerful for years. Bush would have been just another and the school would not be impressed with just another kid with family influence and money.
And another thing I don’t get is this:
“Bush is a f***ing idiot”, “Bush is dumber than a pencil”, and yet he is also seen by the same people as being capable of pulling off political conspiracies that require a superior intellect to pull off. Oh, wait, he is so dumb that he has to hire the smartest evil people in the world to tell him what to do. Yet he is smart enough to know who those people are. C’mon you can’t have it both ways. And in my experience, REALLY REALLY intelligent people use the wrong words because they’re too far ahead in their thought to bother whether they really mean “coax” or “hoax”. And they tend to mangle witticisms like “Fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — …can’t get fooled again.”

I guess you’re right about this one. Especially since he has plans to flee the country as soon as he’s out of office. My guess is he and Cheney will both be in their respective “retirement” countries before the next president is inaugurated, just to be on the safe side.

Look, again, while I may not agree that Bush is “dumb”, you can certainly tease him with clips of countless other Bushisms, but this isn’t even close to being one. He didn’t know that Maria was one of the hosts, because watching the debate isn’t a priority to him. Big friggin’ deal?
Seriously guys, he gives you so much to work with. Actually treating this like it matters in the least is pretty pathetic.
Again, it has nothing to do with being dumb. The very headline “asks GOP debate host whether she was at the debate” is misleading. It implies he watched and is so stupid didn’t know he was talking to the same chick. I suspect many of you commented under that impression. Once you realize he didn’t watch the debate, you realize how pointless this post actually is. I pointed that out, and the argument from some of you is that Bush should be sitting in the White House, watching GOP debates that no one else was watching.

I don’t think he’s stupid, I think he’s unfit and incapable doing his job properly. Letting him and his merry band of law breakers into the White House in the first place – now that was stupid.
Here’s a sobering thought: everything Bush does is in the name of God. If he really truly believes that he’s God’s emissary (which I think he does) – that not only makes him capable of doing anything but far more dangerous than if he were just saying it to secure his legacy. Add drinking/drugs and it makes the problem WAY more of a problem.

It’s too easy to just bash Bush for this. As you say, there are so many more things he truly deserves the condemnation of this country. Not watching this debate isn’t one of them. But you are ignoring that the republican candidates are ignoring him as well.

We all know of high-profile criminals and low-life thugs who are ignorant and stupid, but know their way around the law. Ethics and morals are not in their makeup. Bush, the unethical, amoral, corrupt liar, falls into the criminal and thug category. Stupid, yet sneaky.

The headline (and the post) is intended to imply Bush is so dumb that he watched a debate and then was interviewed by the host and didn’t even recognize her. In reality, he (like everyone else) had something more important to do than flip their TV to the failing MSNBC.
Big freakin’ deal, Bush didn’t watch the debate. Why should he watch any of the debates? It doesn’t matter if he “watches”.
And again, before you people say “he should care about what happens after he leaves”, I already owned you clowns by pointing out the he’s even advising Hillary in the event that she wins, so don’t start again. And again, watching a debate is irrelevant for prepping for his own departure, and more than watching Conan does.
As for Ditch Mitch, was it Bush that hoaxed us in to the war? I thought it was countless quotes from 1990-2003, made by democrats, insisting that Iraq had WMDs (including Clinton in 98 on the eve of his attack on Iraq), etc. etc.
At any rate, I think I’m done here. I exposed you all for the dishonest and unstable people you are.
