The “legal nightmare” of former New York City police commissioner and Rudy Giuliani confidante Bernard Kerik “is about to get worse,” as federal prosecutors are “expected to file charges” against him “that will likely include allegations of bribery, tax fraud and obstruction of justice,” the New York Daily News reports. Kerik, whose nomination as homeland security secretary in 2004 ended in scandal, pleaded guilty last year to two misdemeanor charges of taking payments from the same company that is alleged to have bribed him.

Says a lot about Bush since this was his first pick for Homeland Security Chief, doesn’t it?? One thug supports another!
October 12th, 2007 at 12:14 pmThis will be a fun time, watching how fast RUDEE streaks away (as fast as his CFM pumps will let him) from his good buddie Bernie. How he explains this will tell us a lot just how gullible and Kool-aided up the Repugs are.
October 12th, 2007 at 12:14 pmNow let’s see how fast Kerik will tank Rudy’s little campaign - Rudy and Bernie had a corporation together which will not doubt be proven to be part of the reason Bernie is being indicted.
October 12th, 2007 at 12:15 pmBye, Rudy!
Upside99: When it is outed that Rudy’s firm helped Bernie complete his bogus employment application for the position of Homeland Security Head, the fur will definitely fly and Rudy will be splattered.
October 12th, 2007 at 12:16 pmIsn’t it amazing how Rudy comes across during the debates as a mafioso thug? The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.

let’s see, that leaves Mitt the “lawyers will tell me what to do in a time of war”and Freddy Flintstone, the man with the melting pumpkin face and the work ethic to rival Dubya’s as the front-runners.
Can you say 65% Dem win in ‘08?
October 12th, 2007 at 12:19 pmBernie and Rudy- two peas in a pod/ two bears in a rug.
October 12th, 2007 at 12:26 pmOh dear. I’m sure this is all just a horrid left-wing conspiracy to discredit Rudy.
Heheheheh!!
October 12th, 2007 at 12:28 pmKeep ‘em coming conservatives!

We’ll need a margin that large to get beyond the stolen votes and other frauds the repugs will undoubtedly pull off.
Well I guess this means Bernie will get even MORE air time on Faux News.

Maybe he will be the next AG Dubya nominates. That way he could stop the investigations into his “little situation”.
After all, he has about the same level of credibility and honesty as the last one did.
October 12th, 2007 at 12:39 pmRudy Giuliani “crony” Bernard Kerik “is about to get what he deservesâ€
Thought I would clear that up for you.

October 12th, 2007 at 12:41 pmI would say that the close relationship Giuliani had with Kerik over the years demonstrates that they are either “fellow travelers” or that Giuliani has incredibly poor judgement. Or both.
October 12th, 2007 at 1:02 pmWhy do you think Rudy hasn’t thrown Kerik under the bus, and never will?
Those of us in the NYC area know why Kerik went from Rudy’s lowly limo driver to NYC’s high police chief in one fell swoop.
He saw something that Rudy wants to keep quiet, and he “offered†to keep his mouth shut in return!

I’ve done some research on Kerik and haven’t seen anything referring him to a limo driver for Rudy. Do you have a link? I did, however, find this interesting story, although not yet the substantiated information.
“Kerik worked from 1982 to 1984 as chief of investigations for the security office at King Faisal Specialist Hospital in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, one of the kingdom’s premier hospitals, where members of the royal family are treated. Six members of the hospital security staff, including Kerik, were fired and deported after an investigation in 1984 by the Saudi secret police.”
October 12th, 2007 at 1:09 pmMaybe Bush will give him the Medal of Freedom.

October 12th, 2007 at 3:31 pmKind of chuckling here thinking about the swiftboating of the 12 year old Frost youngster and the neocons asserting the Dems should have vetted the child’s family better.
What would the Bushies vetting of Kerik? I think the apopintment of someone for a Cabinet position would require extreme vetting — which the Bushies obviously didn’t do — neither did Rudy from the sounds of it.
