‘Dear Abby’ agrees with Cheney for the first time ever.

Today, CNN hosted “Dear Abby” author Jeanne Phillips, who recently publicly declared her support for gay rights and received the first-ever “Straight for Equality” award from Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays. “I guess I just have a sense of fair play,” Phillips told CNN. “I have some wonderful gay friends and I think they should be entitled to all the civil rights everyone else has.” Watch it:

CNN also showed Phillips a recent clip of Lynne Cheney saying that people “ought to be able to enter into the relationships they want” because it is a “free country.” Phillips responded, “I never thought I’d agree with the Cheneys on anything.”

Phew...for a minute there I thought you were saying that she agreed with Darth Chaney. Glad that got cleared up!

  2. ralph the wonder llama Says:

She must be a moonbat, and therefore, her opinion can be safely ignored.

Is that how the thinking goes, Michael?

  3. Race Condition Says:

Notice Lynne Cheney stops just short of saying that they should have the same rights and freedoms as the "Tab A -> Slot B" types.

  4. missmolly Says:

Dick Cheney has, for the most part, been pretty silent on the subject of gay marriage -- never endorsing it, of course, but not engaging in the shrill "it will destroy the institution of marriage!" that we hear from the rest of the wingnuts. I would imagine that having a gay daughter in a committed monogamous relationship might affect his POV somewhat.

Dick certainly won't rock the GOP boat by overtly coming out in favor of gay marriage, but it doesn't seem to stop his wife (whose own POV is probably similarly affected by her daughter).

Cheney doesn't care about gays one way or the other. Gays don't affect world domination.

FOX GIVES NOBEL TO PETRAEUS thread -GN

Thats what they want to do, say something controversial, and stupid, and when people start objecting, make is seem as if they are being unfairly attacked for their opinion.

I dont let words, such as those on FOX, anger me, ever.

It counts all of the posts from the wingnut dorks that don't know they're banned!

  17. Xisithrus Says:

Now, they will attack Phillips for her opinion, and she should do the same thing as the 28% and claim she is being attacked for her ideology in a free country, as Lynne Cheney said it is.

I always suspected the Cheney's were hedonists.

    This just proves it.

Don't leave your kids alone with these people there's no telling what they'd do to 'em.

You'd think the republicans would support gay marriage afterall most of the republicans in office are gay.

They could come out of the closet and be happy. No more toe tapping in the boys bathroom. No more arrests and toilet paper stuck to their shoes.

If all homosexuals were to turn blue overnight, the rest of us would see that these people are people we've known all along. Our neighbors, our co-workers, members of clubs we belong to, and even members of our own families.

It's harder to deny rights to people we know and consider friends than it is to deny them to a group of faceless, distant individuals. Lynne Cheney apparently knows this. Good heavens -- if SHE can get a clue, why not the rest of us?

actually -- on the daily show of 10/10/07, mrs. lynne
cheney specifically said she opposes the [anti-gay-]marriage
amendment -- BUT. . . she also said she feels that
the united kingdom and spain aren't core to "american
interests" when she made the entirely specious claim
that there have been NO terror attacks since 9/11,
due to her husband, and his side-kick's, efforts

jon jacks THAT hangin' curve-ball right out of the yard!. . .

do watch! -- and, it is only a minute, ten seconds long!
