Sara Taylor’s new job.

By Amanda Terkel on Oct 14th, 2007 at 2:24 pm

Sara Taylor’s new job.

Sara Taylor, the former White House political director who was heavily involved in the U.S. attorney scandal, has been hired to be a partner with Designated Market Media, a leading Republican media consulting firm. Pat McCarthy, a partner with the firm and a former NRSC senior aide, called Taylor “top-flight talent.”

UPDATE: BLT has Taylor’s lobbying registration HERE.

in a fascist society, those with political power are often pampered by the corporations and the two positions are often interchangeable.

  2. Zooey says:

    She’s definitely a “team player.”

    **wink wink**

  3. VerbalKint says:

The scum working for Bush are going to find these cushy escape jobs more and more difficult to find as time goes on. GOP fundraising is going poorly, and will continue to worsen. Soon they won’t have enough money to absorb all the filthy foot soldiers coming out of the White House.

  4. cavjam says:

One may be deluded enough to think she’s a “first-rate talent,” but surely her tired knees from service in the Cheney admin has left her unable to go to the hoop with aplomb…

not that I’m casting aspersions upon whoredom in general.

  5. RUCerious says:

This is great news, as the Republican media blitz will now be rife with, I can’t remember, and I don’t knowisms.

  6. profmarcus says:

hopefully, she’ll be making enough money to keep her attorney on retainer…

And, yes, I DO take it personally

  7. bilbobaggins says:

Why, do you honestly think anyone is going to go after her? I fear that all these bush sycophants will be allowed to go on their way and profit from their criminal complicity. The Democrats don’t even seem to be capable of going after the big fish (Meiers and Bolton), so what makes you think they will ever go after the little fish?

  8. Shayne says:

How hard is it to be a Republican media consultant? All you have to do is follow the Karl Rove playbook of fear and smear.

  9. Max-1 says:

    .

I’m sure Sara will be faithful to her Oath of allegiance to their president, too.

  10. JMOHR says:

The Republicans’ use of the conservative lobbying firm and think tank as a resting place for injured soldiers was indeed a brilliant innovation. The destruction of one’s professional or occupational life has always been one significant brake on the lengths that a public official or political appointee would go for their leader. The Republican rest homes have provided intrepid soldiers with assurance that they would still earn a good (indeed better) living should they be caught. It is interesting that whistelblowers receive less and less protection under this administration

  11. Veritas says:

No doubt Sara Taylor’s new job comes with a custom-fitted pair of knee pads, too?

  12. blogenfreude says:

Wingnut welfare at its best. Surprised she’s not going off to be a think-tank “fellow” somewhere.

  13. Xisithrus says:

What does a media consulting firm do, exactly?

Coulter: Hello Designated Market Media? I want to go on air and talk ’bout putting some poison in a liberal judges creme brule.

Sara: I dont know. Just say you were joking, I guess.

    Coulter: I am?

    Sara: Yes.

Coulter: Great! What do I owe you?

    Sara: Lemme see…50,000 dollars.

Coulter: What a bargain, I’d much rather pay you than to see that money go to some needy 12 year old white kid in a coma.

Sara: We are compassionate [snicker] like that.

Coulter: Yes we are compassionate [smirk]

  14. Veritas says:

Media consulting is just another name for “how can we screw the public today” I’m afraid. How can we twist a few more brains with clever propaganda?

Sara Taylor is a boring Bushitco airhead to me but here’s something really worth checking out. I think we need to add the appropriate adjective to the Iraq War and that would be “illegal” Iraq War. Sherwood Ross reminds us that Bush is in violation of the Hague Conventions of 1899 and 1907, theKellogg-Briand Peace Pact of 1928, the UN Charter, The Tokyo War Crimes Tribunals, and the Nuremberg Charter, Judgment and Principles….

and just because congress supported and funded it, doesn’t make it “legal”. In fact, a country needs UN Security Council approval which Bush failed to get.

So here’s the skinny on it to share with everyone you know and the reason why Bush & Cheney will be tried in a war crimes tribunal when they leave office. In this article, Ross calls Bush’s War Fraud the “bloodies, costliest lie in White House history” since a nation can only engage in war “when attacked and in self-defense”. Knowing that OBL was NOT Saddam Hussein and attacking Iraq where OBL was not means that Bush did so illegally.

  16. Veritas says:

Now….taken one step further…..with congress approving and supporting it despite it being highly “illegal”, does this not put every individual in Congress who did so equally guilty on the law? I can see them all scurrying right now, including Hillary and John Edwards….just to name a few.

  17. Xisithrus says:

At least she’ll be lobbying for a biodiesel renewable energy group [biodiesel blend made from soybean] instead of politicising the DOJ.

At least she isn’t lobbying for Exxon or that ilk.

  18. Lefty Patriot says:

Mmmmmmm…that would be a “yes”. Congress, by “funding” this illegal action is therefor complicit, conspiratorial and just as guilty as if they had taken up arms themselves and carried out the actions of the military. Isn’t law fun?

    Comment by Billy Hill — October 14, 2007 @ 6:21 pm

Excellent! Then we can replace the whole bunch with real liberal patriots, led by the few that voted against this illegal, immoral act. isn’t law fun?

  19. Xisithrus says:

Its a sad time when America, that fought to get away from empire, has started acting like one.

  20. Zooey says:

Lefty, OK, replace them.. question…what would your new batch of “real liberal patriots” do for me…how would I benefit from their being in office?
    Comment by Billy Hill — October 14, 2007 @ 6:55 pm

YOU aren’t the only person in this country. It’s time to give someone else the benefit.

  21. nofltwlt says:

    Top flight tallent?

Not on the basis of her committee performance – that’s for sure.

  22. The Republic of Stupidity says:

EXCUSE me? Who cares what you want?

Why do you think that shrub has bought all that land in Paraguay? Could it be to avoid extradition? And Darth and Dubai? They’re making sure that all trails are covered.

  24. RUCerious says:

Top flight talent ~ translation, when her top flies off, there some real talent there.

I’d gladly contribute to the hunt their sorry asses down fund.

  26. Gregor Samsa says:

Pat McCarthy [...] called Taylor “top-flight talent.”

In Republican parlance, that means Taylor is the crony of cronies, the corrupt among the corrupt, and the one with the least ethic boundaries.

Plus, she “took an oath to the president”, not to the country or the constitution. What’s not to like?
