In court documents released last week, former Qwest CEO Joseph Nacchio revealed that “the NSA approached Qwest more than six months” before 9/11 “about participating in a warrantless surveillance program to gather information about Americans’ phone records.” In a letter to Director of National Intelligence Mike McConnell and Justice official Kenneth Wainstein today, House Judiciary Committee Chairman John Conyers (D-MI) requested “an immediate briefing on the facts” of the program as well as all documents relating to the “pre-9/11 activities and the legal basis for conducting them.”

Yeah, it’s just the corrupt Bush administration. nothing new to you, huh?
October 15th, 2007 at 6:56 pmGW666 started illegal wiretaps days after he stole the presidency, he spied on political opponents, critics, journalists, repukians that needed to tow the line more.
If this isn’t enough to impeach him, then he might just as well kill and eat babies on national TV, no one will do anything.
I think most people are just so sick of GW666 and Darth Dick that they have given up hope of him ever leaving office.
Where is that 6th Nuke that they lost?
Why all the suitcase nuking of an American City fear talk?
Doesn’t this point to GW666 is gonna nuke one of our own cities to make his Dictatorship permanent?
Who’s he gonna nuke, maybe a liberal city like San Fransisco?

October 15th, 2007 at 6:58 pmDo you suppose it was called The Terrorist Surveillance Program before 9-11, or was that later? I’m sure Bush will have a very good explanation for this and that it was all perfectly legal. What I can’t understand is why it didn’t prevent 9-11 like the President said it would do in the future. Surely they would have included anything they had learned in that August 6th daily briefing, wouldn’t they?
October 15th, 2007 at 7:01 pmHooray for Conyers. We all know he will be stonewalled, but the fight must be fought, regardless.
Among many other things, I am still waiting to hear what is being done about the nukes that ended up in Louisiana two months ago.
Cheney’s energy policy meetings?
Oh, the list is too long. Let’s get started, Conyers.

You might be right, but I disagree with the target city. I would think W would want to get his base fired up for the eventual takeover of our democracy by taking out a red state city. Then he could crow all day about how he needs to remain in power because only he can protect us. It sounds far fetched, but not for Shooter and his gang that couldn’t shoot straight.

October 15th, 2007 at 7:13 pmSo this Liar-In-Chief went before us publicly and lied in our faces about whom he was spying on for how long?? Six months before 911??
He stood there and emphatically denied spying on americans at home. He said that they were monitoring ONLY overseas calls.
What a lying sicko we have in the highest office of this country. I hope Conyers goes for the jugular on this one.
Bush has violated our constitution, trashed it, and is using it right now for toilet paper. Can we afford to remain unaffected and compacent any longer?
It’s been our fear and complacency which has permitted this tyrant to overthrow all of the laws of this land. It’s time to give him the boot.
October 15th, 2007 at 7:17 pmspankbot: “Why don’t you list the evidence you have that it’s real?”
It’s in the Washington Post article linked at the top of the thread. A former executive at Quest claims the government tried to get them to do illegal spying for the government 6 months before 9-11. Please, let’s not forget that the Bush administration’s answer to any and all questions about possible illegal wiretapping always started with something like “9-11 changed all that,” or “that all changed on 9-11,” etc. etc.
October 15th, 2007 at 7:18 pmIt also goes without saying that even with this spying on american illegally, he did not thwart 911 from occurring. This point needs to be made over and over and over.
October 15th, 2007 at 7:18 pmIs “because we wanted to” a legal basis?

Just a thought; You don’t get out much do you?
October 15th, 2007 at 7:20 pmWell, Col. Jack – there goes Bush’s tiring mantra about 911 – right out the window! He was doing this 6 months before 911 and it still occurred. Now what’s his excuse?? Fascism, maybe??
Just like the wandering target in Iraq, Bush is running out of reasons for what he’s been doing.
October 15th, 2007 at 7:20 pmBush is cooked on this one! And the longer the Dems “permit” him to remain in office, the more the GOP will be taken down the tubes. Just desserts, I say!

That’s not the way it works, my friend. You made an assertion and it’s up to you to back up your assertion. The article is very clear. You dispute it, and it’s up to you to state why it’s in dispute.
October 15th, 2007 at 7:22 pmNixon was forced to resign for spying on the Democrats; hah! Illegally spying on americans BEFORE 911 totally eliminates the “faux wall” he’s been hiding behind on everything else. Let’s see what he’s going to say this time – when he has absolutely nothing to hide behind. Can’t wait to see it all in living color. Pop the popcorn, buddies.

October 15th, 2007 at 7:24 pmRight-o, Candyce! Make the troll put up or STF up! They can’t provide evidence to the contrary because there is none. They’ll just slink away back into their foul corner.
October 15th, 2007 at 7:24 pmYou guys notice how as things are starting to leak out we are going back in time to the beginning of the Bush admin – the moment that Cheney told them at their first WH meeting to seize the power.
October 15th, 2007 at 7:26 pmHow can he admit that he needed to break the law to “protect us” when the FISA court has already been established for just that thing. Besides, you can begin warrantless wiretaps immediately if you believe there is a threat, and then get a defacto warrant.
The fact is – he knew that FISA would never permit him the blanket spying and the spying on political foes that he is doing. Otherwise, why not follow the rules??
October 15th, 2007 at 7:26 pmVeritas: “It also goes without saying that even with this spying on american illegally, he did not thwart 911 from occurring. This point needs to be made over and over and over.”
A very important point. And, we’re not going to stop terrorism with billion-dollar anti-missle systems either.
October 15th, 2007 at 7:27 pmCandyce: It goes back to Day One – and we will discover even more dirt years before that. This was an organized coup orchestrated by PNAC, AIPAC, and the Bush Cabal. It’s possible that “guilty by association” will mean that every individual member of these groups will be placed on trial for treason against this country before all is said and done. The courts are preparing their documents, Congress has been interviewing past aides, and the fireworks are set to begin.
October 15th, 2007 at 7:28 pmOtherwise, why not follow the rules??
Comment by Veritas — October 15, 2007 @ 7:26 pm
That’s always been the question, Veritas. They had the strongest, constitutional tools in place already. But they couldn’t operate with impugnity (sp) and immunity under the rules. So they had to make their own – and ensure they had a DOJ in their pocket to justify it.
October 15th, 2007 at 7:28 pmColonel: And we’re definitely not going to stop terrorism by spying on american citizens either, are we?
October 15th, 2007 at 7:29 pmCandyce: And they almost accomplished their diabolical coup, didn’t they? They had the DOJ corrupted and in their pocket, The Patriot Act to keep dissidents and whistleblowers from coming forward, the illegal spying on political foes whom they have been blackmailing into silence…..oh but the big mistake they made was trivializing the will of the people and the midterms.
Now they will be considered criminals by historians – just like Nixon. One small mistake in the plan; one large black mark in history for this administration.

October 15th, 2007 at 7:38 pmIf McConnell tries to pull any stalling tactics BS, Conyers should just have his committee hold McConnell in inherent contempt. Congressman and Senators are privileged from arrest when going to and from Capitol Hill, but not members of the Executive Branch. (and that includes you, too, Mr. “Vice” President.) The LAST thing Rep Conyers should do is be polite about it. The Bush administration is counting on Congress not taking the steps they can to stop them. What ever became of Miers and Rove blowing off Congress? Conyers needs to remind Bush of a quote that Rummy used to carry around with him all the time: The Legislative Branch is in the first article and the Executive Branch is in the second article. That is no accident. [Ironic, isn't it?]
October 15th, 2007 at 7:40 pmMr. Conyers:
If you don’t get damn serious about investigating the spying by ISREAL & CHENEY prior to 9/11 (Israelis Art Students, Able Danger, Dancing Israelis), all of your “efforts” are pure theater, and you remain under the full control of AIPAC and David Rockefeller. We know that you know that Israel’s Mossad and Dick Cheney conspired to commit 9/11.
We’re paying attention.
Are with with US, or are you with the terrorists (in the White House and in Israel)?
Time to choose sides.
The Hague awaits those who fail to get it right.
We know they’re blackmailing you. We simply don’t care any more.
I’m with the Americans. And you?
October 15th, 2007 at 7:44 pmGood luck. Like they are really going to give Conyers anything. Until they put impeachment on the table or start enforcing subpoenas the Republicans are going to continue to give the Democrats in Congress the finger every time they try to get anything.

So Right Wing Loon spankbot, it’s ok with you that our government was spying on us before 911?
October 15th, 2007 at 7:46 pmThe spying prior to 9/11 was essential to ENABLE 9/11.
How do you think the administration learned that they had to shut down Able Danger?
October 15th, 2007 at 7:48 pm9/11, first and foremost – was about making the Twin Towers go away.
They were effectively condemned dinosaurs – a drag on the Port Authority and a liability on the books of Halliburton, who acquired the ASBESTOS LIABILITY CLAIMS when CHENEY PURCHASED DRESSER TO SAVE BUSH A MULTI-MILLION DOLLAR LOSS.
GHW Bush already tried to bring them down once using the FBI and his agent – Khalid Shaikh Mohammed.
Chertoff ran the coverup.
On 9/11, he partnered with Mossad to ensure their destruction.
Cheney was at the controls, using Dov Zakheim’s SYSPLAN (FTS) to guide the aircraft remotely to their targets, while Kobi Alexander’s PTECH Software (a PROMIS knockoff) blinded NORAD.
Norm Minetta walked in and caught Cheney in the act – and was fired for testifying honestly before the 9/11 Commission:

CHERTOFF RAN THE COVERUP.
Some of us can see the entire picture.
For those of you interested in knowing the ENTIRE TRUTH…all of the answers are available if you search them out.
Rumsfeld acknowledge the theft of Trillions of Dollars of DOD funds by Dov Zakheim (sent to Israel). He also stated that flight 93 had been shot down, and that the Pentagon was hit by a “missile.”
Zakheim acquired civilian Boeing aircraft in advance of 9/11 to retrofit as fuel tankers. Remember the size of the fireball when the second tower was struck?
That was a converted tanker.
Larry Silverstein confessed to having brought down his building(s) with explosives.
Raytheon was intimately involved in the entire operation.
CHERTOFF RAN THE COVERUP.
This is not conspiracy theory.
These are Conspiracy Facts.
October 15th, 2007 at 7:49 pm“The FBI-Justice move [to take over the investigation], pushed by DOJ Criminal Division chief Michael Chertoff and Deputy Attorney General Larry Thompson, has enraged Homeland Security officials, however. They accuse the bureau [Chertoff] of sabotaging Greenquest investigations—by failing to turn over critical information to their agents—and trying to obscure a decadelong record of lethargy [actually criminal obstruction] in which FBI offices failed to aggressively pursue terror-finance cases.
“They (the FBI) won’t share anything with us,†said a Homeland Security official. “Then they go to the White House and they accuse us of not sharing … If they can’t take it over, they want to kill it.â€
Chertoff’s “investigation” (sic) covered up the terrorist financing so well that the Kean 9-11 Commission could write in its report:
“Similarly we have seen no evidence that any foreign government–or foreign government official–supplied any funding.”
Well that’s odd, seeing how the head of Pakistani Intelligence was forced to step down when FBI agents confirmed to Indian intelligence that the Pakistani ISI chief had ordered a $100,000 wire transfer to alleged lead hijacker Mohammad Atta. This was front page news in India, and was reported in several venues here. Not a word about ISI chief Lt. General Mahmoud Ahmad appears in any of the 9-11 reports. This news story makes the 9-11 Commission Report a bald faced lie.
Chertoff also had a hand in drafting the PATRIOT ACT.
Washington Post: “In meetings with the White House, Chertoff pushed for expanded powers to conduct secret searches, steps that civil libertarians have challenged with some success in federal court. (”Democracy,” a federal judge wrote recently in striking down such a provision, “abhors undue secrecy.”) Chertoff labored to dismantle barriers that kept intelligence agencies from sharing information with local law enforcement agencies.”
October 15th, 2007 at 7:51 pmRequests, but we’llll seee.
October 15th, 2007 at 7:51 pmNo response?
ISRAELI?
The American Free Press alleges that Michael Chertoff may hold dual-citizenship as an Israeli citizen. This charge stems from Chertoff’s mother Livia helping to create the state of Israel, and helping in a Mossad operation called “Magic Carpet,” where thousands of Yemeni Jews were flown to Israel in El Al planes in 1949-50. Israeli law holds that children of Israeli citizens are automatically citizens of Israel.
Chertoff has denied the allegation, and he has evaded specifics about his childhood: “I’ll take the fifth.” Chertoff’s father was a rabbi, and his siblings are reported to be ardent Zionists. Chertoff’s wife Meryl is a prominent member of the Anti-Defamation League (ADL).
This brings up a plethora of questions about Israeli spying in America, and Israeli links to the 9-11 operation itself.
For example: why were 140 Israeli agents who were detained after 9-11, many of whom had demolitions training, released without charge, and the matter made “classified?” Why were the five Mossad agents who were caught celebrating the WTC demolition, photographing themselves holding up cigarette lighters, released as well? And why has none of this made it into the “Independent” 9-11 Commission’s “Investigation”, or into the Congressional Joint Inquiry?
Did Michael Chertoff’s role as the head of the Department of Justice Criminal Division have something to do with this Israeli participation cover-up?
LA Times: “When President Clinton took office, he fired all the U.S. attorneys who had served under his Republican predecessor except one: New Jersey U.S. Attorney Michael Chertoff.”
That’s some exceptional guy, as the article shows. It reveals something quite out of the ordinary about Michael Chertoff.
Not a word from anyone in power about Chertoff’s successful defense of a known bin Laden financier. Even though the Bergen Record newspaper had published the facts of the case in a series of articles. This news was never picked up nationally — somehow not being newsworthy enough to rate a few lines in the major press — and they call this “freedom” and “democracy,” ad nauseum.
Michael Chertoff was confirmed by the senate in a vote of 98-0.

October 15th, 2007 at 7:52 pmhttp://www.rumormillnews.com/cgi-bin/archive.cgi?read=66175
Chertoff allowed scores of suspected Israeli terrorists and spies to quietly return to Israel. In several cases, Israeli suspects working for phoney moving companies, such as Urban Moving Systems from Weehawken, N.J., were caught driving moving vans which tested positive for explosives. On September 14, Dominic Suter, the owner of the moving company, which was found to be a Mossad front company, fled to Israel after FBI agents requested a second interview.
One group of 5 Israelis was seen on the roof of Urban Moving Systems videotaping and celebrating the destruction of the World Trade Center. These Israeli agents were returned to Israel on visa violations.
These Israeli suspects, and others, who had apparently transported explosives in the New York area, were allowed to return to Israel without being properly interrogated or their presence and activities in the United States having been vigorously investigated.
http://www.libertypost.org/cgi-bin/readart.cgi?ArtNum=86989
Popular Mechanics magazine probably didn’t worry about the ethical considerations of hiring a cousin of Michael Chertoff, a former Assistant Attorney General and the new Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), as senior researcher.
But the March 2005 issue of Popular Mechanics (PM) plumbs new depths of nepotism and Hearst-style “yellow journalism” with its cover story about 9/11. PM’s senior researcher, 25-year-old Benjamin Chertoff, authored a propagandistic cover story entitled “Debunking 9/11 Lies” which seeks to discredit all independent 9/11 research that challenges the official version of events.
Benjamin’s mother in Pelham, New York, however, was more willing to talk. Asked if Benjamin was related to the new Secretary of Homeland Security, Judy said, “Yes, of course, he is a cousin.”
http://www.apfn.net/messageboard/05-23-05/discussion.cgi.39.html
The Assistant Attorney General in charge of criminal investigations at the time was Michael Chertoff, the current head of the Dept. of Homeland Security. Chertoff, the son of the first hostess of Israel’s national air carrier, El Al, is thought to be an Israeli national.
One of the Israeli agents later told Israeli radio that they had been sent to “document the event” – the event which took the lives of some 3,000 Americans.
Despite the fact that the Israelis arrested in New Jersey evidently had prior knowledge or were involved in the planning of 9/11, the U.S. mainstream media has never even broached the question of Israeli complicity in the attacks.
October 15th, 2007 at 7:54 pmhttp://planetquo.com/Bad-Company
ICTS UK Ltd is another Israeli-run ‘transportation security’ company with offices in London. Although the company’s registered address is listed as 8 Baker Street, they operate, however, from an office on the first Floor of Tavistock House South. Curiously, this is the exact same location that Fortress GB operate from. More curious still, Tavistock House is the exact location where the number 30 bus exploded on 7th July.
Given that both companies provide ‘transportation security’ services, operate from the same floor of the same office complex, and given that both are owned and run by Israelis, only a hardened ‘coincidence theorist’ would deny that there is evidence indicating tangible links between the two. Indeed, one could be forgiven for believing that the same people are behind Fortress GB Ltd and ICTS UK Ltd.
As Christopher Bollyn points out, these companies merit being investigated because “they provide ’security technology’ for the tube lines that were bombed.” Bollyn also points out that these Israeli companies perfect their ’security’ skills in Israel and Iraq and then apply them in Britain and the USA.
ICTS International were the company who ran the security arrangements at ALL the airports from where the hijacked airliners departed from on the morning of September 11th, 2001.

US Nuclear Weapons Being “Guarded” By Israel
American supporters of Israel were delighted to learn that an Israeli company, Magal Security Systems – owned in part by the government of Israel – is in charge of security for the most sensitive nuclear power and weapons storage facilities in the United States.
The largest perimeter security company in the world, Magal started out as a division of Israeli Aircraft Industries (IAI) – which was owned in part by the government of Israel. In recent years, however, Magal evolved into a publicly-traded company, although IAI (and thus the government of Israel) still holds a substantial share in the highly successful firm.
What all of this means is that the government of Israel will actually have control over the Security of America’s nuclear weapons.
And with current U.S. Homeland Security Chief, Michael Chertoff, not only a strong supporter of Israel but also the son of a woman who has strong Israeli ties – even including service with El Al, the national airline of Israel-Magal, owned in party by Israeli Aircraft Industries – will be a clear-cut favorite in the eyes of the power brokers in official Washington who have the power to grant lucrative security contracts.

That is one reason why we can’t give the telcoms immunity from prosecution. Because if they think they will be prosecuted for spying on Americans without a warrant, they will sing like a bird to make their legal problems go away. And that’s what we need right now. We are starting to get whistle blowers, but we need a big one like Verizon telling Congress that Bush offered them a lucrative contract if they allowed him to spy on Americans without a warrant.

Forget stopping the war. The only way to stop the insanity is to IMPEACH!
October 15th, 2007 at 9:28 pmIf the Democrats allow passage of that law to give amnesty to the telcom companies, then it’s time to go after them. We will have to break the Democratic Party apart.
October 15th, 2007 at 9:45 pmThanks, Plunger, for the very pertinent and valuable information and facts. Everyone needs to cut and past your information for future reference. To date, the bulk majority of your information has been found to be true; more is coming, no doubt, as the sins of the Bush Crime Family & Cabal are brought to light.
Please keep this information flowing. Americans need to know the truth. As they say: “The truth shall set you free” and goodness know we are being held in bondage by our very own government.
October 15th, 2007 at 9:53 pmAnd I would agree wholeheartedly that Conyers has definitely lost his groove – his verve and his passion. He was “on fire” a year ago before the piggish GOP dug up some insignificant dirt on him using one of his staff to run an errand. Imagine how that would stack up today with the incredible abuse of government personnel occurring in every Republican office in this country?
It’s such a shame that Conyers is being blackmailed. I have absolutely no doubt that this is what’s changed this man.
October 15th, 2007 at 9:55 pmConvicted Felon?? Yep, I guess old Scooter’s out there spilling the beans again!
October 15th, 2007 at 9:56 pmUntil I heard one rationale regarding not impeaching recently, I was finding myself daily frustrated with my personal thoughts about the need to impeach. It goes something like this: If Bush gets impeached, then Deadeye Dick moves up. Once he controls things, he immediately pardons his sidekick. This would be far too good for someone who deserves to do prison time.
October 15th, 2007 at 9:58 pmlooks like my last post was deleted. Basically, I replied to FunMe, the hell with impeachment, take this gang of neo-Nazi thugs straight to the guillotine. No gang of criminals deserve that more than this bunch.
October 15th, 2007 at 9:58 pmThanks, remove bush – good research and good rationale! Let’s gong the impeachment bell!
October 15th, 2007 at 10:12 pmHeh! I love how ThinkProgress makes NO mention that this allegation comes from a convicted felon in papers filed in an effort to overturn his conviction….TP’s dishonesty is amusing.

Scooter Libby is a convicted felon, too, but I bet you’d believe anything he told you.
October 15th, 2007 at 10:16 pmWhen will Conyers get sick of being used to make it look like the Dems are doing something? When will he come right out and say: “Enough. We must impeach Cheney and Bush?”
October 15th, 2007 at 10:19 pmIf the administration is using its powers solely for country’s security and not for political purposes, then why are there 100,000 people on the no-fly and watch lists? Are there 100,000 people in the US who are threats? Is Ted Kennedy on the list because he is a threat or merely a political opponent?
Whatever happened to the investigation of the anthrax attack on Leahy and Daschle and the tabloid in Florida which showed photos of the Bush twins drunk on the floor?
October 15th, 2007 at 10:21 pmRemoveBush,
Just as GHWB pardoned those who could have testified against him in the Iran-Contra crimes.
October 15th, 2007 at 10:24 pmThe maps to where we are now were printed and distributed before 2000.
October 15th, 2007 at 10:35 pmThis is not news.
What criminal prosecuters should be looking at are activities by gunner vp man and his losers pre election theft.
Note: what’s it like hanging with a trigger happy clown you know shot a friend in the face?
And Dick’nGeorge pardoned Scooter so he would not testify against them for outing the person who was head of the no-proliferation group for Iraq and Iran.
October 15th, 2007 at 10:35 pmI heard a rumour the Supreme Court just gave Gore’s oscar and Nobel Prize to W! Is that true?

It hasn’t been that long ago that, I believe, Conyers was in fact putting together evidence to draw up articles of impeachment against Bush. Apparently it has been snuffed out…I don’t have any details because frankly, with impeachment “off the table” and Conyers’ failed effort (not for lack of trying) to get Bush to answer questions about the Downing Street Minutes, I kinda lost heart.
October 15th, 2007 at 10:48 pmRemoveBush, for an excellent dvd on the pre-war lies, watch UNCOVERED: THE WAR ON IRAQ, 2004, (1:23)
producer/director Robert Greenwald.
interviewed: Robert Baer, Rand Beers, John Dean, John Kiesling,
Karen Kwiatkowski,
Ray McGovern, Scott Ritter, Stansfield Turner, Joe Wilson, Colonel Mary Ann Wright, Clare Short, and more
available from Netflix
October 15th, 2007 at 10:52 pmOK, Questioneverything, here ya go (I just love The Google):
Ann Wright, a retired US Army Reserves Colonel and a US diplomat who resigned in March, 2003 in opposition to the war on Iraq:
Ms. Wright also says this:
Link.
We can probably find more info at Conyers’ blog, http://www.johnconyers.com/. I would check it out more in depth but I do not have the time right now.
October 15th, 2007 at 10:57 pmGeorge the Second and Count Cheney have to be impeached asap. The safety of the Constitution and the democracy is at stake.
October 15th, 2007 at 11:33 pmLarry
While it’s good news that the truth is finally coming out, I’m saddened that this sh*t has been kept hidden for 7 loooooooooooooooooonnnnnnnnggggg years. Imagine all of the people who knew something and could have spoken up before the 2004 election.
While I understand that they’d have been hammered by the right, they could have made a significant impact, changed the future of our country and taken us off the path leading to fascism.

TP has “amusing” dishonesty? What kind of dishonesty does Bushco have evil, coniving, war mongoring treasonous dishonesty? And then there’s Fox News dishonesty, too dispicable to name? But you here whining about TP’s dishonesty you you pathetic, whining piece of troll scum.
October 15th, 2007 at 11:52 pmDemand answers, if not forthcoming, impeach these mofos.
October 16th, 2007 at 12:31 amI personally find Ace’s posts very informative – when you research them, they are actually factual, at least the ones I checked to date have been, so much information there I just don’t have time to research them all.
How do you find the time Ace?

Exlexia so I take if your quite disturbed that we went to war based on information largley provided by “curveball”, and alchoholic who was brought to our attention by convicted embezzled Chalabi?
Many a conviction has been won by criminals turning states evidence. Are you claiming we should stop using this valuable law enforcement tool simply because the witnesses are criminals?
Nacchio is a felon to be sure, but employees of other phone companies with clean records who arent trying to save thier butts have coroborated this guys story: that the government was pursuing this wiretapping pre-9/11. (see Electronic Frontier Foundations lawsuit againt AT+T)
The AT+T employee mentioned in that case had no reason to lie, has proof to back up his assertions, and by law could not share in any monies won by EFF in the case, as this is not a Qui Tam action.
Any illegal wirtapping pursued by the government pre-911 per se defeats and destroys thier “wartime powers” argument. Interesting enough, the phone companies have not denied it either. If its not true, why dont they just deny it? Would save them an awful lot of trouble..
Exlexia, I take it if its proven this spying was started post 9-11 you’ll condemn bush + co for doing it then, right?
October 16th, 2007 at 7:46 am>Is Ted Kennedy on the list because he is a threat
He’s on the list because supposedly someone else with the exact same name has terrorist ties…supposedly…
I understand “kenned-hi” is a very popular name in saudi arabi…
October 16th, 2007 at 8:57 amConyers wants answers?
Puuuuuuulease!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Conyers had the answers to impeach. Did he?

What makes you think Conyers will act differently?
