Graeme Frost’s parents on Countdown tonight.»

The parents of 12-year old SCHIP recipient Graeme Frost will be featured on MSNBC’s Countdown with Keith Olbermann this evening. Two weeks ago, Frost delivered the Democratic Radio Address, pleading with President Bush to expand SCHIP funding. Subsequently, Frost was viciously attacked by the right wing for his efforts.

Wait, strange disconnect. Is Graeme going to be on the show, or his parents? Headline says one thing, screen grab says something else.

  2. Leftside Annie Says:

Those vicious reichers ought to be ashamed of themselves for their attack on this child and his family.

  3. TripMaster Monkey Says:

The neocons really shot themselves in the foot when they rushed to smear this kid and his family.

  4. Zappatero Says:

“shot themselves in the foot” - and they’re covered by Lame Duck Insurance Industries, LLC

  5. Marcus Aurelius Says:

Ahhhh, the freekin’ Republicans! Devouring a sick child in broad daylight! And to think, just a few short years ago, Graeme Frost was a fetus - worthy of bombing a clinic over. These people are deranged.

  6. Fan of Man Says:

    pleading with a psycho?

how’d that work out for ya?

tom tomorrow has a terrific observation on the entire graeme frost smear up today on salon…

And, yes, I DO take it personally

  9. Zimzone Says:

Neocons are known for eating their own, but they usually don’t

have a poor kid as an appetizer. Maybe Michelle Malkin can be

there to really give this kid a whipping for being poor. Yeah, that

will serve him right. How dare he get in a car accident and

    make our Presidunce look bad!

  10. Dr. Matt Says:

Stalkin Malkin will be staking out the dumpsters behind the MSNBC studios to “report” on what they were served in the Green Room.

That’ll happen when hell freezes over. But, you never know, the Eagles did a reunion album even though hell had not frozen over, so anything is possible.

    No “disconnect” here.

The headline says….Graeme Frost’s parents on Countdown tonight.

The screen grab also says…..The parents of Graeme Frost

Malkin and the NeoCONS were not after this family for being poor. They were after them for not being poor. Apparently they all thought it would be just ducky for this family to have to sell all their assets to pay off the huge medical bills their children ran up and then still have to declare bankruptcy. And in the end the doctors and hospitals would be stiffed, but I guess that’s ok with the NeoCONS too.

The original headline, when I first responded, read “Graeme Frost on Countdown tonight.” They must’ve revised it.

  18. Mark @ News Corpse Says:

The right-wing assault on Graeme Frost is illustrative of their broader assault on all young people. They don’t even want them to be engaged in the political process or to vote:

Tucker Carlson Is Afraid Of Young People Voting

    “I just — it — politicizing children — there’s a Khmer Rouge quality to it. I think it’s scary.”

It’s really unfortunate that elitist cretins like Carlson can go on TV and purposefully discourage youth participation in government. He is working against the sort of good citizenship that democracy requires.

  19. lefty Says:

Man these here elephants sure are afraid of leetle mice.

  20. John Kerry Says:

What..again???? You mean no one saw the “interview” with these poor parents (now used by the left) on the Hour Of Spin last week???

No, wait a minute! Dummy me. I keep forgetting not many people even knew who comedian Olbermann is anyway.

  21. Trizza Says:

No problem Slappy. You’re probably right.

  22. Ditch Mitch KY Says:

Trace the rightwing GOP smear job against Graeme Frost and his family straight to the office of So far, no statement from his office about the email, written by Don Stewart, with specific talking points about the Frosts. This email was sent out to the media and GOP cronies last Monday 10/8.

Ole Mitch was greeted at his condo in Louisville last night 10/14, with signs that said, “Ky Sen. Scrooge Slimes Sick 12 Year-Old.” He spoke at UofL this morning where protesters met him with signs.

Heckuva Job, Mitch. Call his Louisville office to demand the truth: 502-582-6304.

    Grame Frost = Al Gore

Attempt to undermine the credibility of the messenger so you can dismiss the message and then the original issue.

  24. texaslady Says:

This family is trying their best to NOT go on public welfare but who can predict a 5 1/2 months hospitalization for one child and another one seriously hurt. So should we expect to wipe them out ? This SCHIP Bill only covers twice poverty level which is $20,000.00.

So, Republicans, you help people a little so they can continue to work and pay taxes or you wipe them out and they end up on welfare. Now which is the better option. Can anyone Republican see beyond their own mean spirit ?

  25. bilbobaggins Says:

Can anyone Republican see beyond their own mean spirit ?
    Comment by texaslady

Apparently a lot can since they have enough Republican support in the Senate to override the veto and are rapidly gaining enough Republican support in the House to override. I actually think that the Republicans shot themselves in the foot with this one. This mean spirited attack on the Frost family seems to be turning some Republicans towards supporting the bill who voted against it to begin with. Otherwise their constitutes are going to be very unhappy with them!

  26. Zimzone Says:

Hardly nobody outside of the fringe left watches that show anyway.

Hmmm, could these oracle like words belong to the well known chest thumper, ‘Tamapchessdon’? ‘Hardly nobody’?

Hardly nobody watches Fox Noise, anyway?

    Better, Don?

Why do you hate kids? Or better yet, why do you hate disabled kids?

  27. bilbobaggins Says:

Hardly nobody outside of the fringe left watches that show anyway.
    Comment by TCDon

Sorry Right Wing Loon, but Countdown has been pulling a larger audience than Billo lately and Countdown consistently beats Billo in the target audience of the 25-50 year old’s.

So if that’s hardly nobody (good English BTW) watches Countdown that would mean that hardly anyone outside the fringe right watches Billo.

  28. RUCerious Says:

They’d go on Faux Network, except the llikelihood of Graeme being cut up and devoured on live TV is too great.

  29. texaslady Says:

#31 First I agree some Federal programs need more oversight or accountability, ie Medicare however, Social Security is working the checks come on time every month. As for future fund problems, how about repaying the funds borrowed by past administrations? Wouldn’t be a problem then. Many programs were working until this administration cut personnel and funding.

Since when should a cancer patient be sent home after 24 hours after surgery with drain tubes? Insurance companies dictating to doctors the type and length of hospital stays. Drug companies and hospitals over charging and billing errors. There is enough fault everywhere to go around.

Again, keeping a population healthy, keeps a population working and paying taxes, therefore everyone pays their share.

  30. Frosty Cupcake Says:

“have seen how much the federal government can botch health care, e.g. Medicare, VA,”

    Couldn’t let this one pass.

Remember the Walter Reed scandal? How the soldiers loved the work done at the Walter Reed hospital, but not the ancillary facilities? Right? Well, the truth is that Walter Reed is still run by the government (the good part) and the moldy, rat infested after care facilities are run by, drumroll please…

Private healthcare providers. Yep, that’s right, the government had already outsourced Walter Reed after care to private companies.

So. Government run Walter Reed good. Private run Walter Reed aftercare bad. Very bad.

  31. Frosty Cupcake Says:

Why should middle men make profits off of health care anyway? This makes no sense to me. We don’t expect the police or fire departments to make money for middlemen, why health care? Why do we buy into this lie?

  32. Leftside Annie Says:

Who cares about a brain-damaged 12 year old child, eh, TCDon…?

According to Republicans, he has no value, so he might as well just go ahead and die - and decrease the surplus population and cut those welfare rolls!!

You ought to be ashamed of yourself.

  33. texaslady Says:

#34 Ours is a capitalist society which means companies are allowed to make money. However, when drugs manufactured here and sent to Canada, then politicians refuse to let people by the same drugs “because they can’t ensure quality”. That is BS.

When Medicare is not allowed to negotiate for the lowest cost of drugs like Walter can that’s BS.

If a company can’t stand competition then they need to go. And after the committee that Bush assigned to clean up Walter Reed gave him recommendations, he said, ” I have no immediate plans to make any changes.” So it is soldiers and public go to hell, now we can add an children as well.

One thing good Bush has done, no one will ever be President again with a name of Bush. Hope Jeb has stolen all he can from Florida.

  34. Clumberfeet Says:

If I have to pay taxes I want them to pay for this boy’s catastrophic health care costs not more bullets, guns and bombs on the other side of the planet.

  35. Buckie Boy Says:

Let’s hope that they expose the RiechWing Fascist Brownshirters for what they truely are -

The lowest form of scum on the planet.

    Hate is great.
    Corruption is profit.
    Lies are Lovely.
    Slander is poetry.
    Slime is fine.
    War is peace.
    Spying is security.
    Red is right.

They should be embarrassed of themselves, but they have no morals, nothing human about them at all, just a sickly, slimmy mentality.

    Buck Fush

  36. Ditch Mitch KY Says:

Call McConnell to find out about Don Stewart, his communication director who sent the email on 10/8 with talking points for the GOP and right wing media to slime Graeme Frost.

McConnell now denies any involvement. Call and demand the truth and demand that Don Stewart be fired:

    DC Office: 1-800-828-0498
    Louisville Office: 502-582-6304

  37. Gregor Samsa Says:

All it will do is buy some votes from those who are naive enough to believe that tax and spend is the answer to all.
    Comment by TCDon — October 15, 2007 @ 2:47 pm

Tax and spend to help keep the nation’s children healthy = entitlement program & very bad.

Tax and spend on an open-ended occupation that has already killed and maimed thousands in a country that posed no threat = sound policy & perfectly ok.

That’s the Bush cult logic. War is Peace.
