Waxman presses investigation into pre-war lies.
Rep. Henry Waxman (D-CA) is continuing to investigate the White House for proof the president lied when making the case for going to war in Iraq. U.S. News reports Waxman has “been quietly summoning former Bush aides, especially speechwriters, to testify behind closed doors about what they knew and how they phrased his words on the issue.”

Me, too — but I’m hoping this might be the final straw. Waxman is doing the right thing (why does he always seem to be a lone crusader?), and he might even trip over somebody with a conscience — somebody who’s fed up with the Darth Cheney machine and will sacrifice himself to expose it. Hey, a naive idealist can dream.

Waxman has been consistent in his investigations, albeit not real successful to date.
With all the ‘R’s’ announcing retirements lately, Waxman may have a wider choice of people willing to amBush Bush.

I commend Waxman for laying the groundwork. Obviously he alone does not have the power to carry it forward, but the day may come when a groundswell forms to do something about the war criminals running this country. If that does happen, the necessary legal proceedings will move forward more quickly because of the things that Waxman and a few others have already been doing.

This entire bunch with the exception on one or two are as polluted as an over full septic tank and need’s to be pumped out…..I’m sick of them all and so far it look’s like the reich are going to walk free when their term’s are up thank’s to the immunety clauses in the Patriot act….What we have is wrong doer’s and enabeler’s, the only way the public is going to get off their asses and help us is if they are forced to..
The misery index will have to get a lot worse for the dead head’s to do anything….Needless to say, so far the reich has done a good job in the media making the public immune by showing more and more killing and lies with their little add campaign’s..
My thinking since these insane warmonger’s took control has been to stock pile food ,water, fuel and ammo…When it’s all done and they have taken all they want, distroyed our country and run off to Dubi or Parague those of us left can rebuild, if there are any of us left of course……..Blessings

Cheney learned something from his days in the Reagan WH: make sure your shredder can handle the load.
The problem is that the Bushies are only one disgruntled employee away from being revealed. Just one person who Rove or Cheney pushed around, and decided to get a little protection for themselves, in case the day came that they were in danger of being smeared by the machine. Do you really think there aren’t any smoking guns temporarily hidden, just in case? I’ll bet Cheney’s underlings knew his personal classification system wasn’t legal, and kept document copies to protect themselves and their families – as we all know Bush considers wives and children to be political fair game.

She so afraid of Bush, she pees he pants when he speaks. Many Americans have been calling for Impeachment for since the Dems took power. But under (No Guts) Harry Reid and (Weak Kneed) Nancy we can’t even get John Conyers, who wanted to Impeachment Bush worst than a Bear needs honey, to proceed. He’s been given strict orders that it’s too be hands off Bush, for fear of a Rightwing backlash, from Fox News, Rush Limpbuagh, Sean Hannity, Neil Bortz, and Ann (Longneck Witch) Coulter.

Just to clarify – it’s not MY party, I have been a very strong advocate on TP for equal rights for homosexuals, and I have been a Christian voice of reason and advocacy for firm separation of church and state. Otherwise, your post is spot on.

You cannot convince him; his authors don’t want you to think the typical Bush supporter can be convinced. Indeed, any discussion with O Bigfoot will result in unpleasantness. Again, his authors want you to think that political discussion with Bush supporters will be equally unpleasant.
This is a tactic used to keep us away from their base and close down the public sphere. The more people who don’t particiapte – the more easy it will be for them to “win” elections.
Real people don’t act like the trolls; they are not so stupid, hostile, obnoxious, or impervious to logic and evidence. Trolls aren’t real.
Notice, however, that O Bigfoot has begun using the argument that the Democratic Leadership’s unwillingness to pursue impeachment is EVIDENCE of the LEGALITY of Bush’s actions. We will hear this more and more if we cannot convince or replace Pelosi.

One of the biggest problems we face as a society is that people are losing the ability to tell fact from feeling. This poor, pathetic Bush cultist states what he BELIEVES will happen in the future and then follows this by proudly stating, “those are the facts.” He clearly doesn’t have the mental capability to tell the difference between assertion and fact. I would hesitate to call this “stupid” or “ignorant,” but it’s clearly mentally unbalanced. Sure, judging from his many other ludicrous statements, it’s safe to call the bigmouth “stuipid” and definitely “ignorant,” but this post shows that really, what we’re dealing with here is an insane person. I think it’s best to humor or ignore crazy people.

So you’ll agree that all the horrible things said about Clinton should cease immediately:
1) “Vince Foster was murdered on Clinton’s orders!”– three separate investigations ruled Foster’s death a suicide.
2) “Clinton bribed state troopers to keep his crimes covered up!” — no charges filed. Perpetrator of story publicly apologized for it and admitted it was part of an “anti-Clinton crusade.”
3) “Clinton committed perjury and attempted to obstruct justice in the Paula Jones case!” — Clinton was impeached, but acquitted. No conviction here, therefore no guilt.
4) “Clinton pardoned Marc Rich in a quid pro quo deal!” — no charges filed, despite a Congressional investigation lasting several months.
5) “The Clintons acted illegally in the Whitewater investment deal!” — three separate inquiries found insufficient evidence they had done anything illegal.
6) “Travelgate!” — investigated, no charges filed
7) “Filegate!” — investigated, no charges filed
And the list of supposed high crimes of the Clintons goes on and on. How refreshing to hear from you that because they haven’t been proven guilty of any of these that they are innocent. Now, can you get the rest of the wingnuts to give it a rest?

Those aren’t “facts” — those are hopeful wishes. If George’s strategy actually works, resulting in Iraq realizing peaceful democracy, terrorism disappearing altogether, and he is revered as a hero for all he has done, I will be the first person doing a happy dance.
Pardon me if I have my doubts any of this will happen. Right now, all I see is Al Qaeda in Pakistan and Afghanistan growing, Osama bin Laden is still at large, Iraq is destabilized, our country is in hock to China so much to pay for this war that our dollar is getting more worthless by the day, thousands of people are dying. And I’m not seeing any real progress toward democracy in Iraq. Yes, it would be really cool if all this mess would get cleaned up. And if it does, I will cheer the person or persons who did it — even if it’s a Republican.
