In an MSNBC interview today, host Norah O’Donnell asked Lynne Cheney her views on Sen. Hillary Clinton’s (D-NY) presidential campaign and whether “America is ready for a woman president.” Cheney replied that she actually has a “certain bias”:
One of the things I discovered was that Dick and Barack Obama are eighth cousins. Is that an amazing thing? If you go back eight generations, we have a common ancestor.

When asked if that means she’s “for Barack Obama,” Cheney replied, “No.”
UPDATE: A spokeswoman Lynne Cheney explained to the AP that Obama “is a descendent of Mareen Duvall. This French Huguenot’s son married the granddaughter of a Richard Cheney, who arrived in Maryland in the late 1650’s from England, said Ginny Justice, a spokeswoman for Lynne Cheney.” The Obama campaign’s response? “Every family has a black sheep.”

Make of that what you will, but perhaps we need to be treating folks that live in other countries as brothers and sisters and cousins, and not as “enemies.”

Growing up in Detroit in the fifties and sixties our black ‘authority figures’ would quietly make mention of the notion that there must be a “*igger in the haystack” if so-and-so was just a little too dark-skinned……..the saying went “if you’re light, you’re alright; brown, stick around, black, get back!” So, at the end of the day, Barack truly represents—and maybe Ms. Cheney is saying this—-ALL of us in that he is in fact, like most of us, bi-racial whether we want to admit it or not………

Here is what America wrote for the rest of the world to see:

Barack Obama does not have a slave ancestry. His family on his father’s side is Kenyan. None of them have spent any time in America. His Irish mother was born in the United States. In effect, Obama is not African-American by birth. He’s really Irish and Kenyan…which, in stupid America translates to being “Black” because his skin pigmentation is similar to that of African-Americans.
It’s no wonder we voted for Bush twice. It’s no wonder this generation allowed for the Twin Towers to be bombed as well as the Pentagon.

This obviously proves that Karl Rove is NOT quite gone yet and is still spinning things from behind the screen like the Wizard of Oz. Dick sent his wife in to muddy the waters a bit. Its called ‘obfuscation’. It implants a festering shadow of doubt in future Obama voter’s mind. Much the same way jury professionals can work (tamper with) a jury like in the movie Runaway Jury (2003) with John Cussack and Dustin Hoffman (Wag the Dog?). This is right out of the Rovian play book. His granddad (Herr Karl Heinz Roverer) would be proud Herr Joe Goebbels proud that is.
Barack Obama is related to Mr. Mareen Duvall (yes Mareen’s a man!)? That would mean that he is also related to actor Robert Duvall and President Harry S. Truman. Here is Mareen Duvall’s back story. There WAS a Maryland plantation involved folks! And Africans were NOT the only American slaves. There were Native Americans in the Caribbean during the Columbus massacre of circa 1492 and Irish American indentured servants (mainly in Canada but some were in USA too).
