>Say, how’s that conversion to Islam coming along?

hey bigfoot, speaking of black and white, can you explain to us simpletons where the turks about to invade iraq and the kurds giving shelter to the terrorists in iraq fall on the “with us or against us” spectrum?

The Republicans are afraid of Ron Paul, because they are intended to loose in 08. I guess Billary or Obama are meant to win, that's why the Reps. only have mediocre candidates this time.
Ron Paul is the exception. He could beat both Billary and Obama without even trying hard. They are afraid of Ron, because they don't have him under control.
Abolishing the Fed and fading out the income tax would cost the bankers quite some power. That's why they wanna get rid of Ron Paul. He's the only real patriot in the game.

OK, Mr. Bigfoot, you've restated your FEELING that the vast majority of Americans support "winning" in Iraq. I've given you a FACT about recent polling. Now, it's your turn to make that FEELING a FACT. You must have some reason for FEELING the way you do about this. Can you give us something more than this FEELING you have?

““Do you approve or disapprove of the way Bush is handling the situation in Iraq?”

68% Disapproved & 30% approved

OK, wording here, Ripper.

If someone asked me that question, I would have to, in all honesty, answer that I had NOT approved of how the war was handled. I feel we should not have ended the “Shock and Awe”, blah blah blah.

Comment by O. Bigfoot — October 22, 2007 @ 3:10 pm

Except you forgot to mention that you would not answer that question in all honesty. You would blindly support GWB and answer Yes, you do approve of how the war was handled. Honesty & Republican support are mutually exclusive.

Americans are winners. Regardless of whether we CAN win or not, Americans, overwhelmingly, want to win this war.

Regardless of whether we CAN win or not, Americans, overwhelmingly, want to win this war.

And with the progress currently occuring in Iraq, the number of people who want to win will only increase throughout the rest of this year and next….bad news for Democrats.

Comment by O. Bigfoot — October 22, 2007 @ 3:10 pm

Where's that evidence I asked for? You're certainly making a lot of assertions about the opinions of Americans without it.

Just post the link to the poll that says 70% of Americans want to win the war. It's entirely possible that with the question worded the right way, such a poll exists. I just can't find it.

And while you're at it, provide some evidence to back up your assertion that 1) progress is currently occuring in Iraq, and 2) support for the war is increasing.

Otherwise, I can only assume these are wild fantasies on your part.

Bigfoot: "Polls are not about the question as much as they are about how the question is worded."

Bigfoot makes this statement after claiming that "70% want to win." Again and again, bigfoot makes sweeping statements about "what Americans want" which are completely at odds with all statistical polling data. The latest CBS/Washington poll asks this:

"Do you approve or disapprove of the way Bush is handling the situation in Iraq?"

68% Disapproved & 30% approved

That's a pretty easy question to answer, Bigfoot. No confusion there. Now, can you show us where you get your "70%" number?

"He only opposes the war because he believes in isolationism." That is the most awful quote I have ever seen on this site. Do some research before you speak so poorly against a man. The real isolationists are anyone that want to continue this foreign policy of nation building and policing the world. Other countries are isolating them selves from us because of this disastrous policy. Ron Paul speaks for peace and TRADING with all nations. HOW IS THAT BEING AN ISOLATIONIST? As far as an ancient monotary policy... you are wrong there too. Many other countries do not have a central bank. The money is printed by the government and the people have control over our interest rates and inflation instead of a PRIVATE bank. Also we don't need an IRS if we get rid of the FED. The IRS is only paying back the interest that we owe on the money that the FED gave us. When the FED prints money its given to us on loan thats what creates the interest rates and determines how much the money is worth. Realize the FED makes a fortune when we go to war because it has to print insane amounts of money! We never had an IRS or FED before 1913... The federal government isn't even supposed to tax us its all supposed to be done by state. Thats the way our forefathers intended us to run this country. Ron Paul wants to give freedom back to the individual and try to create peace in this world. How can any of you boo freedom, peace, and prosperity?

Over 70 percent of Americans want to win the war in Iraq, and leave it a stable, free, democratic nation. Over 70 percent of Americans DO NOT want to “cut and run” from Iraq. The list could go on and on.

Polls are not about the question as much as they are about how the question is worded.

Comment by O. Bigfoot — October 22, 2007 @ 10:14 am

Just pointing out here that Li'l Footie has absolutley NO problem distorting stats to make an artificial point (unlike the one on his head, which is real). Below is an example of Footie's manipulation of stats.

“… The troops have drawn conclusions about fellow citizens back home. Asked why they think some Americans favor rapid U.S. troop withdrawal from Iraq, 37% of troops serving there said those Americans are unpatriotic, while 20% believe people back home don’t believe a continued occupation will work.”

Since Little [ ] won’t link to his “source”, I found at least one of them for ya, folks. The above info is actually from a Zogby poll taken almost a yr and half ago (source below! ;-D!!). No wonder Little [ ] didn’t provide the reference. Don’t know where the rest of it comes from, but ** YAWN **, I think it’s safe to ignore Little [ ]’s “data” here.

Yer stats are about as real as yer nads... Footie.

What information am I missing?

Holy cow, are you serious? Ron Paul has been endorsed by the Constitution party. This party is not to be mistaken with the Constitution itself. They are to the Constitution what Creationists are to the Bible. Paul believes in nearly pure libertarianism. He favors eliminating the income tax and nearly all regular government functions. He favors eliminating Medicare and Social Security. He is truly on the far fringe by any political reckoning. He only opposes the war because he believes in isolationism. The ONLY good thing he would do is end the war, but his foreign policy would be so crazy and misguided that it would probably cause further global instability. His prehistoric ideas on monetary policy would be even worse.

How dumb. Have they gotten so drunk on the power of the emperor that they can't face reality ?

1) Think of this for a 10 second sound bite for the election:

70% of the Americans want their toops home. BOOOOOO!!!

2) Even if you are for the staunchest neocon for keeping our troops in Iraq for perpetuity and expanding their range to include Iran and Syria. Even it that - the 70 % is a poll figure that must be considered in making strategy for the election.

Bush and Co fooled many who should have been smarter. Jack Cafferty believed this impersonator of compassionate conservative. But he at least has seen through the charade.

Standing with Bush for many is the money they are pulling in, for others they can't admit their idol is a sick psycho, they think he is protecting them. After all no attack in 6 years. However, we weren't attacked for 8 years during Clinton's term plus we had a strong economy and credibility Internationally.

I condemn Pelosi for not doing what she was voted in to do, impeach Bush and Cheney.

To be fair, I doubt they were "booing the American public" as much as they were just not agreeing with Ron Paul.

I mean really... what sort of audience do you expect at a conservative debate? Thinking people? This is why Paul is never going to make the cut. When it comes to Iraq he is making sense, and is using facts as his guide. But that's about all he has going in the thinking department. After that he's pretty much conservative cow-towing all the way.

Watch the spin, you don't want to become similar to conservative sites that spin so much they don't know which way is truth. :)
